  1. I mean, I kinda see where you're coming from but if Lego went too strictly your direction the problems would be just as bad if not worse. Say I want to build a forest scene, but now I'm restricted to the exact same green on every bit of foliage. I'd much rather be curtailed by too much choice compared to too little.
  2. I know this is the unpopular opinions thread, but I can usually see where someone is coming from even if I disagree. I don't understand that one though - paring back the palette. Whats the benefit? Why not just use the colours you prefer within the expanded palette? Do you expect the range of available bricks in the base colours to be wider if there were less colours? Not trying to argue, I just don't understand it.
  3. I don't think it's really the way they should do a CMF, but I know what I want are variants of the existing factions - similar to the way the Black Falcons got a Falconer, or the new Wolfpack figure. These slightly varied legs or torsos then allow for variety in armies (of whatever size). But as I mentioned, that doesn't need to be a CMF line.
  4. While I don't think Ill be shelling out this round, the promo for the Siege Weapons popped up in my feed and it's well made.

I input an item with a fake email. The offered prices are terrible compared to what you could sell for on Bricklink. But I suppose that's the model.

I checked on a different PHP forum I used to admin, and the setting was under: Admin Control Panel > Users and Groups (tab) > Manage Ranks
  7. After much hunting I found the three Wolfpack figs I was chasing in a small local toy store. Every big box place was picked clean. I was looking for the torso & legs but I gotta say the wolf is chunkier than I expected. As for scanner apps, I'll also say OMGbricks was the best one I used, as it allows you scan multiple boxes at once instead of needing to do them one by one. Not useful but mildly interesting, it also counts your total scans and tallies the results per figure. I made over 400 attempts in this app alone D:
  8. That seems .. unnecessary? It's pushed the price up to an amount I am unwilling to pay. I don't think I was buying this one regardless, but now I'm certainly not. I like the improvements to the Seaside harbor - the modularity of it, and the rear view went unnoticed to me before. I don't think I'm quite on board with purchasing though. I may save my money for the next series as both Tortuga & Transylvania are high on my list.
  9. Well, whatever way they have their ads embedded got around my blocker, so the site has been added to my blocklist instead, I'll just never be able to visit at all. You'd think a site devoted to Lego as a hobby would care about general design ethos a bit more.
  10. Good god, how many ads can one website cram in.
  11. It would not be unprecedented though. See the X-Mansion with Xavier, and the launch GWP that came with.. another Xavier.
  12. Having watched the War of the Rohirrim, I have some hope for an Edoras set. It would have the same issues as Rivendell - in that it's just too much to accurately portray - but I do think the Lego design team could capture the spirit of the location without every little detail required.

Followed you there. The Spectaculum & Willow, I remember supporting your work before!
  14. The Monkey's Paw creaks... ...lime green.
  15. I would just like the trans-pink Dreamzzz raven/crow in a solid colour please.

Fabulous work. I love how the rooves came together - especially the slight extension at the front of the tallest tower. I can't fault a lot on it, but if I had to add some constructive criticism, I'd lose the Yoda quote. The modern font is way out of whack with the rest of the vibe. Also, the linktree in your signature is 404ing - can I get a direct link to your flickr? I would certainly follow your work.
  17. Just wanna give a shout out to 1by1Brick's channel. His Castle Season 2 series just wrapped, and it might be *the* best Lego content on YouTube for Castle fans; https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHFWYu0kTYlVqzGcj4ldHpfZb__MEcu6P Throughout it, he builds out a diorama using the LKC & Medieval village as the starting point, then uses that landscape to play out a story through each episode. Plenty of MOCs and just general techniquery mixed in as he goes.
  18. Yoggington replied to Vilhelm22's post in a topic in LEGO Train Tech
I find it hard to imagine that's a train in the classic sense.. i.e. on rails. More like a train of 'vehicles & carts'. A husky train, a wagon train etc. Happy to be surprised, a snowpiercer style beast could be very interesting, and it would give them a way to mix it up from the usual cycle of cargo / passenger / revert.
  19. I was also thinking about this, looking at the sets I have around the house. They are allowed, it's just a question of which category they land in? For me, I am thinking about 40700 ( https://brickset.com/sets/40700-1/Winter-Holiday-Train )
  20. I mean, I guess it's useful for people that don't really know how they want to sort their lego? However, the venn diagram intersection between those people, and the people that have enough loose lego that it needs sorting is going to be very small.
  21. Wish we'd known this before we built Rome :/
