  1. Thanks for the compliments McMurder_them_! Photoshopping these images is still not the best for me, but with Apple's new update on the Ipad, the quality has improved quite a bit!
  2. Thanks Lyichir for taking the time to comment on my ship :). I pretty much pulled the pieces directly from an SP-Striker and a Mission Commander (wings) so that helps a lot with the authentic look. Exposed studs don't detract on classic themes so that works here also. I think the angled wings remind me of the X-man Blackbird ship, which have such a sharp geometry that carries over to Space Police well. Removing the cargo bay would improve the aerodynamic look of the ship, but I dk, I love transporting a full scale Spy Trak-I! ;)
  3. Hey eurobricks community. I meant to post this a few weeks ago during the CES contest because it would have been a fun entry with the small X-wing and hangar. However, it also wouldn't have qualified because it's definitely over 40 studs long (75.9 studs in length). The Neb-B moc represents some of my highest building accomplishments such as taking an official set or two and making something totally fun, big, and new out of them. Plus mashing classic space with Star Wars is special and unique. I've long wanted to try my hand at the Nebulon-B design.... just something so unusual and quitessentially Star Wars about the ship frame. This MOC is made purely from 2x 10497 Galaxy Explorers with some pieces to spare. I spent a long time with many phases of the model: first by making it with real bricks completely from my head (2 weeks couple hours each day, then by replicating the design digitally into Studio which as some of you probably know personally takes forever, and then equally long is the process of creating instructions with sub builds and all that jazz. I probably will not get a return on my investment of time and energy (2 months of back and forth), even though instructions are for sale. Still, I feel like I've ranked up from a Padawan Studio user to a Jedi Knight level from the experience and the skills are useful for future creations. I think in the future I will stick to making digital creations only up to medium sized MOCs as the ROI (return on investment) and the conservation of resources is much better. I'm thinking of doing some quick parts swapping of the blue pieces and making it totally Star Wars themed because the frame is surely proven (stable) and in place. You can find out more details about the MOC here at my flickr: https://flic.kr/ps/3mi3BG Overall, I'm just pleased to reach the finish line on this project because I have a lot of other Star War universe ships I want to build. I would love to know your thoughts and comments! Thanks, The Brick Shipyard
  4. Your Snub fighter rendition is quite nice and compact! I would be buying a dozen if Lego used this design. Sadly, Lego's Snub fighter just doesn't look as good.
  5. Thanks soccerkid6. I meant to respond earlier, but things have been epically busy for almost two weeks. Yeah the cargo room is spacious! The rover was fun, but wasn't what I actually wanted to produce. I'll take another stab at it in some future point.
  6. Brickshipyard replied to Guybrush's post in a topic in LEGO Star Wars
You have turned the "least interesting" (I personally love the Cloud Car's funky bubble design) into one of the most interesting UCS Lego SW sets ever! So beautiful and I would totally buy it off the shelve! Great dedication!
  7. Awesome Blacktron launch control! The functions are impressive.
  8. Cool Neighborhood Merchhant! I appreciate that - it was fun to enter that contest and without much time left I came up with the Striker design that's good enough to stay built and in my SP Fleet haha. You know, always a positive sign for your MOC when you don't destroy it after the contest or w/e purpose. Anyways, I will look for your rover when you build it in real bricks! You should consider making instructions for Rebrickable too. Lastly, since you love some big rover action, check out my Futuron Titan rover in my Flickr from 2020 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49602382287_156fe4db6d_k.jpg :). Cheers!
  9. Wonderful details all around! Great integration of that tricky classic space dome. I like the very modern and oversized technic wheels - the tread pattern convinces this baby is all terrain :).
  10. Excellent snot and redux work on both the rover and the saucer! I can never get tired of these reduxes :). My only critique is the color balance leans too heavily into the black. Spyrius is a tough space faction to reproduce color balance with.
  11. Golly... whistles. SHe is beauty at this scale! So smooth and sexy. Really evident you took heaps of time to nail the gapless hull. Plus a working ramp and landing gear attachment? Just too incredible at this scale!
  12. Insanely incredible!!!! The way you integrated multiple floors into the ship - seriously a difficult feat. Wow - Frigate size indeed. The Old Republic better watch out!
  13. I'm with Mr. Ogel on this one - as far as Tie design goes the Striker is not a compact, efficient design, yet still cool nonetheless. Anyways, your midi scale MOC is perfect and much less ridiculous in size than the Lego's Official 2016-2017 model (which I own). Your rendition is worth the sacrifice in interior space! Lego didn't adequately use the extra space anyways. Keep up the great Star Wars space building!
  14. Hey mcphatty I love your Ghost and the updated photos! Jedi training in the clouds :). As a SW fan, naturally I get Bespin Cloud city vibes.
  15. Blacktron Invader Mk 4 - Elephant Knight Space Police Enforcer - jkupitz79 Blacktron II Star Striker - Triceron
  16. Here is my entry into the Eurobricks classic space era contest. Think of it as an evolution of the original SP Striker with a range of upgrades. You can tell the size is much bigger and that is because this ship can do some heavy lifiting - dropship duty. The lighting system works. The wings fold out for flight/pursuit and the cargo area is adjustable to accomodate not just the custom rover I built, but large SP vehicles like the Spy-Trak I. The cockpit seats an SP Commander and Weapons system / Comm Officer. The primary armament is double barrel laser cannons that can clear a path to a hot LZ (landing zone). Additionally, the radar and communication package is top of the line, capable of intercepting and jamming Blacktron interstellar transmissions. This ship features 2 main rock thrusters on each wing with intake for atmospheric flying plus boosters. Plenty of thrust! The Space Police Command wanted the MP-Striker to serve many roles from recon missions to cargo carrying, without sacrificing speed should a Blacktron pursuit occur and having the firepower for offensive, defensive capabilities. Blacktron galactic crime rates have seen a noticeable plunge wherever the new Striker patrols! The ship is 39 studs at the longest length and complys with the contest rules. Thank you for viewing and good luck to everyone who entered! More photos found here: https://flic.kr/ps/3mi3BG
  17. Hey and welcome to the forums! Looks like your white spacecraft had an awful crash on the planet and a native alien crab might be hungry? :) While the build could use a lot of improvement, who cares when Igor had fun and used his imagination! The important thing is you and your son had a great bonding time and successfully entered the contest! Cheers
  18. Partly for the contest and partly for experimentation I made a Blacktron Renegade Cruiser. Put another away, a total redux of the original Blacktron Renegade. Now, she is a stud or two longer than 40 stud limit, but I don't think I will win with this ship anyways. The technicality is acknowledged. This build is my first "salvo" fired into the contest and a warm up act really. Some of you have seen it already at the beginning of the month. Cool fact: the ship is made only from pieces of the new Technic Bugatti Bolide 42151 set and Blacktron Cruiser GWP (minus the dune buggy and the extra figures. I may eventually make some low cost to free instructions for this ship. Pretty much like the original set, the various ship parts are modular and be recombined to fun effect. Find more pictures and description here: https://flic.kr/ps/3mi3BG Thanks for checking it out!
  19. Cool shaping and clam-shell cockpit! I am finalizing a SP I entry myself so nice to see your skills at work on this faction. This entry makes your 3rd so far?
  20. The modded result is beautiful, but what does CS need a stealth Galaxy Explorer for? Unless they are spec ops group or maybe Blacktron infiltrators :). Speaking of Blacktron, your ship only needs a couple of yellow piece exchanges, some Blacktron logos, and trans red parts to achieve the transformation.
  21. Fantastic UFO themed ship!! I wish the CES contest allowed for some of the later themes of the 90s, because yours combined with a small vehicle would be a worthy entry! Novel use of some pieces like the gates which are never seen in space MOCs.
  22. Any thoughts of making instructions available for this baddie in the future? At least the robot perhaps? I know making digital instructions is quite an investment (working on some of my own right now). I believe you have interesting and complicated enough builds to even make some space credits.
  23. I wrote my thoughts on Flickr, but like I said, way to represent the Futuron faction! Definitely one of the top entries.
  24. Killer entry!! I was wondering if Spyrius would see some love in this contest and after patiently waiting, you delivered! Very cool interpretation of the recon robot and the twists on the classic figures all work so well.
  25. Wonderful to see Blacktron II get some attention! The little batwing craft is fun and nice evolution of the Supernova.
