  1. I LOVE IT. As someone who has Orthanc and loves it, this looks like such a good modern take on the general concept of that set. Looks absolutely amazing.
  2. I've been looking at this since it was revealed, and I've kept loving it! I think it looks great and like a super interesting build. It's also literally exactly at 1:8 scale according to the dimensions on the website, which is awesome and it'll look just right in size next to the supercars even if it's a bit of a different feel.
  3. I haven’t been on here for a while, but I wanted to pop back in cause I absolutely love this set. As someone with the Saturn V, it would definitely be cool at the same time it would be absolutely massive and cost a lot more for an end result that would be a lot harder to display and honestly probably wouldn’t gain much if anything in terms of looks and functions. And yeah stickers are definitely unfortunate like always but it’s still an amazing build and the stickers are only a small aspect of it, and at the end of the day it’s just added details that you don’t have to put on if you don’t want. Obviously prints would have been awesome and the set definitely deserves them but oh well. Still love it.
  4. I am very excited about this! I have always wanted a large scale accurate Lego plane, and after seeing the real Concorde at a museum I have found it to be a very interesting and beautiful work of engineering, and it is definitely one of my favorite planes. I’m interested to see how they build it, and if it will include features like landing gear and tilting nose. I wonder if they’ll be able to include any interior to it. It has a similar price count to the space shuttle, so I could see it being of a similar size (though likely longer and maybe a thinner fuselage). It’ll also be interesting to see the livery(s?) chosen and what scale it will be built at. Very exciting!
  5. Well, Rivendell looks amazing! It really does look beautiful, and captures the feel of Rivendell wonderfully. All the new molds and prints are amazing, and to me seem to hint to more sets in the future. All the details like the shard Narsil, the paintings, tiles, and Bilbo’s book are amazing. I really don’t have any issues with the figures, and it is great to see so many of them. I especially love the crazy Bilbo face. The landscaping, trees, structures and river all look great as well. Really is an awesome (Though expensive) set.
  6. Woooow this is quite the day for leaks. Both look awesome!! Rivendell looks great and has a wide selection of what appear to be great minifigures, and the buildings and trees and bridge and landscaping all look awesome. That Barad-Dur also looks massive and awesome, I really hope it will actually release, and the sooner the better. Everything looks great! And thanks for the heads up JeanGreyForever, I’m sorry I doubted you
  7. Well, I really do hope that we do end up getting Barad-Dur, but I will remain skeptical until we get any more information. It is a good sign, though a small and not at all confirming that the images look at least plausible. If we do end up getting it, I would not be surprised if it is in addition to Rivendell. I think I stated this a while back, but I could see this theme become similar to Star Wars minus the playsets, with one or two D2Cs and a couple smaller things a year. What would surprise me would be if Rivendell turns out to be false, as we already have the piece count, price and release date, and I can’t remember an instance where we have all this information about a set and it turned out to be false. Of course anything is possible though.
  8. When the Titanic sailed in April 1912, the US flag had 46 stars, which is what is included in the set. It was increased to 48 in July of the same year.
  9. About the micro scale vs minifig scale possibilities, One thing I could see them doing is making it microscale, but at a larger microscale then hogwarts for example. As big as it is, Hogwarts is still too small to actually be to scale with the micro-figures. I could see a Rivendell that is actually to scale with the micro-figures, (around 1:80) allowing for a larger model then a smaller scale like Hogwarts, but still smaller then minifig scale, allowing for more buildings to be recreated, scenes to be reenacted, and still good detail to be included. Maybe they could even include minifigs of the fellowship with it.
  10. I don’t see why they wouldn’t do both series , especially as all the Harry Potter D2Cs and a few of the Star Wars ones do.
  11. Well, a giant Rivendell sounds awesome! I can’t wait to see how it is built and how the final product appears. I bet there will be a high number of minifigures included, if the giant Harry Potter sets are anything to go by. I would like the Fellowship, old Bilbo and Elrond, but we’ll see what comes!
  12. Very beautiful model, all the shapes and angles are very impressive to me. It doesn’t have the same appeal as the Titanic for me, but that might just be me. Beautiful model nonetheless, but a too big and expensive for me now for what it is.
  13. Well this is exciting! I have trouble seeing how Bag End could become 500$ though… the Ideas submission that got 10000 supporters a little while ago had under 3000 pieces, and I don’t see a D2C Bag End being much larger then that… I could be wrong though. This price point does make larger locations like Minas Tirith seem all the more likely, but we’ll see!
  14. Maybe this theme could become more akin to the Star Wars UCS sets, with a big UCS style set or two a year, but not much else besides a couple little things (Like BrickHeadz).
  15. I think Bag End is probably the most likely first D2C, as it is in both the Hobbit and LOTR, and could include many characters from both movies… I think another relatively likely option could be Minas Tirith, as it is arguably the main location we have not gotten a set of before, and surely one that would sell well. I would be happy with really anything, but these are just my ideas.
