Future Set Wishes and Speculation
aFrInaTi0n replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingTotally respecting your opinion, but for example I am a big fan of doing rc stuff in the brickworld - for me personally it brings the real fun to solve issues and make things go. I am not really attracted by sets with manuals which other people developed (and already solved the problems), except for studying their approach of solutions to get smarter. I think both opinions are totally ok and community doesn't has to have this toxic discussions.. For me the approach of some manufacturers to sell their sets with regular abs placeholder parts for electric components and selling them separetely would be the way to go.. Imho its the best solution for the customers and it will be likely that manufacturers also increase their sales by just attracting more people with different needs. Edit: TLG should bring back the buggy motor format as PF and also as PU version... community has a huge demand for those discontinued lines... (I know of chinese brands versions, just saying TLG is missing sales here for no reason).

[MOC] Electric Hubless Bike
aFrInaTi0n replied to dickylaban's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@dickylaban I replied to one of your fb posts, nice work already! Have you already done some tests with more rpm to see if the construction with the 77107 parts working out at high speeds? Funnily I am currently thinking about the same topic.. I would even try to get the rim out too and just have the rubber wheel be driven hub- and rimless.. I will test this in the next week. Lets find out if the rubber alone will withstand the applied forces.. :D Regards!

[REVIEW] 42130 - BMW M1000RR K66
aFrInaTi0n replied to Milan's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingTahnks and all good, I personally just have the hope for more people trying such approaches to make more out of bricks than just diplay models. Also I think esp. LEGO is missing oppertunities here.. If you think about it, rc hobbies are nowadays like "buy model x of brand y - and if something breaks or you want to tune you also just buy prebuild parts from the manufacturer" - so tbh no real creative process needed for the customer and also spare parts cost what they cost - in the brickworld you can easily exchange whatever you need or like. I guess in general the "brick rc hobby" category could be another market to for the brands to have additional sellings - if they would take it serious and not mess around like some brands do with their "supercars", which more or less just slowly creep around so you have to be emberassed when you show it to friends.. :D Buwizz is nice, but the use of Bluetooth stack is so limiting in resonsiveness and range - I would hope for some manufacturer to give some brick-compatible REAL rc components in the future.. just a plain 2.4 GHz analog system and maybe speedcontroller included already in a brick-compatible housing. This would open some real new dimensions to the brickworld - but enough from my dreams :D

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
aFrInaTi0n replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@wower I think just leaving the Beta program will put you back to the regular releases. Firmware will stay at that version until a newer release will succeed it on the regular release channel.

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
aFrInaTi0n replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@Zerobricks Just my experience from two Buwizz 3 of mine: - "Factory-new" one from Black Friday order failed at first run with the Nordic update and I had to wait for the Buwizz to power itself down to then be able to start it again. Connecting & flashing in in the second attempt worked out as expected without any issues. - Other Buwizz (which was ordered in August via custombricks.de) had no problems and succeeded directly in the first run of flashing.

[REVIEW] 42130 - BMW M1000RR K66
aFrInaTi0n replied to Milan's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThis set with its new wheels will give us the possibility to do better than with the smaller tires we had before.. Don't expect him to be the only one to motorize this - see my RC Superbike as reference - going from scale 1:6.5 to 1:5 will make many things much easier than before..

aFrInaTi0n replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWhy waiting for some more years? 😂 Check out my RC Superbike (but still WiP). No gearbox or other fancy display functions, but some real nice details for real world working technic like one swingarm construction, working chain etc. @42130: I am curious about the new wheels and which possibities they open up for more RC builds.

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
aFrInaTi0n replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingMouldKing has already its 6 channel battery box with a proportional (not really, but stepped) input. Also their 4.0 battery boxes also have the possibilities for stepped control, but just with the app and no hw controller.. But yes, I also thought about the benefits of just having an receiver unit without included battery but instead default rc hobbies connectors for 2c/3c batteries. And I am no fanboy. Havent had the amount and also non bad experiences with Buwizz so far personally, except for the missing haptic feedback and no support for BT controllers. But on the other hand I know how tedious software development itself can be and I suppose when additionally hardware comes in, things don't get easier. I guess one has to invent its own or use regular RC components if Buwizz isnt enough. :D

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
aFrInaTi0n replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHoping to jump in as kind of an moderator: @Zerobricks This may be confidental information and if you can not answer, then I can understand, but nevertheless the question: Have you thought about asking Istvan for his expertise and "pimping" BuWizz App by licencing his Software Stack to include into BuWizz App? My personal opinion: I don't know if both have the same programming language. In general I think Istvan is a nice guy from what I read from his responses to requests from the community. If it is just about hesitations to do the first contact, I would assume it would be worth it - however the outcome may be. For me for e.g. the control via touchscreen feels awkward and not good controlable - currently waiting for a BT controller to have haptic feedback. In general: Thanks for your great products (having no issues so far, but no PU components yet) and also for your great community support here from you personally! ♥ @Danil Your case sounds really harsh and your anger about it is also understandable. I feel you :(

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
aFrInaTi0n replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@wower, on the one side I can understand the view of you as a customer, but also the other side a small company is limited in its posibilities. Also you may have heard about the situation in the IT market - even if you would like to hire an expert, costs are immense, because the market is empty. Better ask the right questions, like "Have you ever thought about a cooperation with István Murvai for him being able to implementing the last missing bits which the customers ask for to Buwizz being the real kick megablocks product afterwards (hard and software)?

BuWizz - High Performance LEGO Power Functions Controller and Battery
aFrInaTi0n replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI am curious, is there any known way for giving Feature-Requests to BuWizz Team? Just messaging them via mail and they will reply? Like having a configurable emergency-switchoff (don't know the excact word used in rc hobbies.. :o) behavior to be set via the app. It would be nice to have a the behavior activateable and additionally having a configureable value for adjust the Timeout in Milliseconds for your own needs. Background: Recently I got one BT disconnect which led my model run with the last applied throttle straight into a wall leading to some damage. :(

[MOC] RC Superbike series - Releaseday of the FREE base chassis!
aFrInaTi0n replied to aFrInaTi0n's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingOr me getting laughed about from the internet for failing hard to achieve 🙄😆 Edit: In the long run I hope I can motivate some other MOCers to also try hard, so all of us get more self balancing motorcycles, because driving them is so much more fun than driving (slow) cars. Huge recommentation from my side to everyone!

It is just a rig with the two wheels mounted and them connected via a chain for the front wheel also seeing spinning. @amorti Appreciated - as always, also thanks for the Fast Street Bike instructions and getting the possibility of testing out physics & learning with this real good design!

[MOC] RC Superbike series - Releaseday of the FREE base chassis!
Hey folks, I want to share with you one of my current projects, the RC Superbikes. It is another of those self-balancing motorcycles, but has some nice additional specs which might have considered to not work in the brick-universe. Unluckily I couldn't finish the superbike project this summer, final highspeed runs will have to take place in the next summer to have some warm tarmac again for giving some additional grip. RC Superbike Series - FREE Chassis - RELEASED in v1.0: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-150157 Specs Scale 1/6.5 Weight ~650g Single swingarm construction for the rear wheel Working transmission via chain Powered by Buwizz 3 Two buggy motors 1x Custom 5L Liftarm made out of aluminium with a ballbearing included Theoretical topspeed should be astonnishing 62 km/h, basing on the 2500 rpm with BW3 at 12V peak (which by its scale would translate into 403 km/h) Real world maximum speed may be lower due to physics kicking in (wobble, weave) Pictures All together Kawasaki H2R - black/chrome Kawasaki H2R - white/green (tuned BuWizz Edition) Ducati Panigale V4R Honda CBR1000RR FireBlade Videos Videos related to the RC Superbike Series can be found in my Youtube playlist: What are your thoughts?
