LEGO Alpha Team - Ogel Command Center - Set 6776 - Review
This is a very awesome base which I've built. It comes with a rocket, a helicopter and the base itself. This set also includes 3 minifigs. We get Ogel and two of his skeleton warriors, who are exclusive to this set. We get a few stickers which you have to worry about. The bags are numbered and for some reason they also have separate boxes in the big box where you can find the numbered bags. The set is well-built and the vehicles and the base are very sturdy. The rocket is awesome. The windscreen opens and you can see the joysticks. For some reason there's no dashboard there. The engines on the back look awesome too. The fins on the sides do sviwel and the containers on each side do open, and you can see a skull in there. The middle has a cargo area where you can put the bombs and if you sviwel the lever on the bottom of the rocket you can drop the bombs. The helicopter is also very cool. The blades spin, and we get a small engine on the back and two joysticks in the front. Now the main attraction of this set: the base. The baseplate is the same baseplate which I saw in the Sphynx Secret Surprise set from the LEGO Adventurers theme. The red window in the front can be taken out and you can see a computer. In the front you can see a cool translucent orange antenna. The platform for the rocket looks very neat. We also get a monorail which has a shovel in the front if you want to load the rocket. The skull which we can see in the first floor can be sviweled and the floor on the second floor does disappear. There's also a small balcony on the first floor which I use as a landing place for the small helicopter. The walls on the second floor can be folded in and the platform on the top is going to fold down and the window will smash on the ground. It's a cool base, but I think there should have been some alpha team agents in this set who attack this base. All in all, this set is a great set and I would HIGHLY recommend you to get this. You can find this set on eBay, BrickLink and Amazon for sure. LEGO Pirates - Skull Island - Set 6279 - Review
This is a very cool set. We get 6 minifigs in total and no stickers which you have to worry about. And you also get some neat play features. The minifigs we get in this set are the pirate captain, 2 soldiers and 3 pirates. This set also includes a monkey and a palm tree. There're also two rafts in this set. We get a red and a brown raft. The set is very fun to build and very sturdy. On the dock we get a cannon which sviwels full 360° and it does really shoot like a flick-missile if you put in the black cylinder pieces which are supposed to be the cannon balls. We get a keg, a ladder and a barrier on the dock as well. The main building is awesome. The huge skull does open and the rafts can pass the canal. In the inside you can see a treasure chest which has some gold in the inside and the other side has two rifles in there. The first level of this building has a desk for the pirates which has a bottle, a map and a yellow chalice. There's also a floor which can disappear and underneath that floor are two swords. The balcony on the top has 3 kegs, a huge pirate flag and a crane. I really can't complain about this set. All in all this set is a great set and I would HIGHLY recommend you to get this. You can find this set on eBay, BrickLink and Amazon for sure. LEGO Bionicle - Tower of Toa - Set 8758 - Review
This set here is the only Bionicle (Playsets) set I've so far. It's a fun set with lot's of great play features and some very interesting minifigures. The build will take a while but I didn't have any problems with this model. We also get a few stickers to put on. This set includes a big visorak which has the golden version of the mask from the first Makuta figure. If you push the back you can also shoot a bigger flick-missile. We also get two big torches with this set. The entrance of this tower has a very big mask piece of Turaga Dume. On the first level you can see a flick-missile which you can sviwel full 360°. You can also lift the big gates on the front of this flick-missile up if you want to move it. On the next level is a balcony. The balcony on the 4th level has a piece which you can move up and down. There's also a green string on each side which you can use for the small visorak to climb up. These visorak also glow in the dark! On each side of the building you can also see a wall which you can open if you want to enter the building. On one side you can also find a catapult which will shoot some nice rock pieces. I really can't complain about this model. All in all this set is a great set and I would HIGHLY recommend you to get this. You can find this set on eBay, BrickLink and Amazon for sure. LEGO Space (Ice Planet 2002) - Ice Station Odyssey - Set 6983 - Review
This is my only set of the LEGO Space (Ice Planet 2002) theme I've got so far. It has some cool pieces and some of them are really hard to find in the sets we get today. It also doesn't have any stickers which you have to worry about. I also can't complain about the number of minifigs we get in this set. The vehicles are very nice as well. We get two rockets, a sledge with two big skis and a truck which can transport a rocket. The trailer of the truck can be removed very easily and the trunk does open if you want to put the rocket in. The base itself omes with a laser gate and a screen with a lever on the front. The base plate looks like the one we got in the LEGO Space (Spyrius) set 6959 (Lunar Launch Site). There're also two big translucent orange window pieces which looks really awesome and on the top of the window you can see a radar which sviwels full 360°. Inside the base you get another laser gate, a place where you can put the translucent orange chainsaw and a sviwel chair with a dashboard which controls the landing platform for the rocket. You can move the blue cylinder piece if you want to lift the rocket up and down. The rockets also have a magnet which is used to get these vehicles on the arm which can slide on the platform. The arm can sviwel up and down and full 360°. On the ground you can also see a platform where you can put the rockets and on the back of the base you can find a radar which lifts up and down. It's a really cool set and it's worth the money for sure. It's also a must have for all LEGO collector's. All in all this set is a great set and I would HIGHLY recommend you to get this. You can find this set on eBay, BrickLink and Amazon for sure. LEGO Ninjago - Blacksmith Shop - Set 2508 - Review
This is a great set to add to any LEGO collection and it's fun to play with as well. The build can be a little bit tricky but when it's finished it is very sturdy and it also looks very nice. We also don't need to worry about any stickers as well. I like the way how the roof of the building can be moved up if you want to sviwel the weapons rack. There're 4 swords and on the other side is a chicken leg and a hammer. I also like the micro builds in the inside with the plate which has hot water in it, the fireplace, the lantern, the chimney and an anvil. Underneath the roof you can also a staff, a spear and two X-Men claws. We also get a nice looking map in this set. I really can't complain about this model. All in all this set is a great set and I would HIGHLY recommend you to get this. You can find this set on eBay, BrickLink and Amazon for sure. Review: Piranha Plant Puzzling Challenge (Set 71382)
The first LEGO Super Mario sets have been released in 2020. For many fans it has been a good move from LEGO, however it has a catch: There're no traditional minifigures included in any of these sets. Instead, LEGO maks use of an electronic system, which LEGO introduced with the Mario figure from the starter set (71360). This figure is compatible to all sets, which have been released for Super Mario. Including, this set: 71382 Piranha Plant Puzzling Challenge. This set has been released in 2021 and has 267 pieces. Box and instructions: On the front of the box you can see the set. Even the Mario figure from the starter set is printed on there. However, the figure is not included in this set. On the back of the box you can see, how this set can be combined with the starter set. The instruction is only available online. To get access to the instructions, you have to download the app from the app store. I would have liked to have a printed instrution manual, however I believe, that there'll be only digital manuals in the future. Construction: The set is very easy to build. There're for numbered bags and no stickers. The set should be done after 30 minutes. At the end you get a small selection of extra pieces. Minifigures: As a figure you get a Spiny. On the top of the creature is a printed barcode, which can be scanned by the Mario figure from the starter set. The Set: The set has two piranha plants, which can be moved. In the middle of the course is a platform. On the platform are two oval tiles. If Mario jumps on these tiles, he'll be able to get the blocks behind the plants. There he can get a coin, if the piranha plants don't suddenly flip to the other side. Conclusion: I think, the set is alright. Who owns the starter set can enjoy the complete play value of this item. It also makes for a great part pack at the same time. GERMAN VERSION OF MY REVIEW What do you think of this set?

Review: Smash 'n' Grab (Set 5982) | Space Police 3
The Space Police theme existed three times already. Sets have been produced to this theme during 1989, 1992 and 2009. In today's review I'm introducing set 5982 - Smash 'n' Grab to you. The set includes 188 pieces and two minifigures. Is it still worth the purchase, these days? Box, instructions and stickers: You can see the set on the box very clearly. On the back of the box you can see the play features of this set. We also get two instruction books, which is easy to understand. This set also includes stickers. Construction: The set is very easy to build. The set should be done after 20 minutes. At the end you get a small selection of extra pieces. Minifigures: There're 2 minifigures included in this set: an astronaut and an alien. The torso on both figures is printed on both sides. Even he head of the astronaut is printed on both sides. The selection is very neat. However, the space police officer doesn't have a vehicle to stop the alien. The Set: The set offers a good playability. There's an ATM machine included in this set, which can be dragged away with the speeder. The ATM itself can be opened. Even the spaceship has some playability: There're flick fire missiles on each side, which can be shot. On top of it, there's a spot to put the tools on each side. As mentioned before, there's no spaceship included for the astronaut. Conclusion: I think, the set has been well made. It's sad to see, that there hasn't been an original space-theme from LEGO for a while. But who knows: Maybe that could change in the future. What do you think of this set? Here you can read my review in German.

New LEGO Speed Champions 2023 Rumors, Speculation
How about a Knight Rider K.I.T.T. set in Speed Champions? Would be a great idea, since LEGO has already made the James Bond Aston Martin and Dom's Dodge Charger, wouldn't it...

Review: Temple of the Crystal Skull (Set 7627)
With the return of the LEGO Indiana Jones theme 2023, I'm taking a look at set 7627 - Temple of the Crystal Skull. This set was released in 2008 with 10 minifigures and 929 pieces. This item has a very high collector's value by now. No surprise: Indiana Jones sets have been made from 2008-2009. Is it worth the purchase, these days? Box, instructions and stickers: You can see the set on the box very clearly. Even the background has been designed nicely and shows a picture of the temple. On the back of the box you can see the play features of this set. We also get two instruction books, which is easy to understand. This set also includes stickers. Picture - Box Front Picture - Box Back Picture - Instructions Construction: The construction consists out of six numbered bags. The set should be built after 90 minutes. At the end you get a small selection of extra pieces. This set also includes 3D baseplate, which has become quite rare. Minifigures: There're 10 minifigures included in this set: Indiana Jones, Mutt Williams, Irina Spalko, 2 Ugha warriors, 1 Russian soldier and 4 skeletons. Three of them have a crystal skull. Picture - Minifigures The Set: The set contains a lot of playability. At the front of the temple, you can find a staircase. You may've already noticed that some bricks haven't been attached very well. That has a good reason, because here's a hidden trap. If you move the dragon heads, the bricks will be knocked out by a Technic element. On the sides of the towers there're two more dragon heads, which are holding a skull, that can be dropped. Behind the temple, you can find a secret waterfall and an arrow, a spiral staircase, a secret door and a throne room, which can spin. On the top of the temple there're two 'wings'. These wings can fold up, once you push down the 'round button'. On the top of it, there's an entrance to the temple and a small tank for the Russian soldier. Picture - Set Part 1 Picture - Set Part 2 Picture - Set Part 3 Conclusion: I think, the set has been well made for it's time. I can imagine, that LEGO could realize this set much better today. At the end of the day it's a cool set with many play features and a good selection of minifigures. Due to it's high collector's value it may be smarter to piece this set together. What do you think of this set? Would you buy it? I also have this review in German: GERMAN VERSION OF MY REVIEW

What was the best Lego castle before 10305? Which is the greatest of all time?
Agreed. It's been too long, since we had a really good castle theme. Maybe an ice castle theme could be interesting...
