Vacuum Engine Seized Up
Lego Tom replied to LegoLord1880's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThe best fix has been given to you. Many have reported issues with silicone oil. These are plastic pieces, not steel gun parts.

[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic
Lego Tom replied to Jim's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI have tried and failed using an Xbox controller with the 42146 Crawler Crane. I was unable to get either one of my controllers to pair with the hubs. Someone recently posted a similar program for the crane using the LEGO 88010 controller, which I don't have but will soon be getting. The programs use the 1st up to connect and control the 2nd hub, so the controller is actually only working with the 1st hub. However, I understand NONE of the programming so please don't ask me any questions about how it's done.

Lego Tom replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWell with all the car models this year and next, "drifting" is kind of on topic isn't it?

2025 Technic Sets Discussion
Lego Tom replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNot that LEGO gives two dead flies about what I think, but 2024 and 2025's offerings have left me completely underwhelmed. The few sets I bought this year were not 'new' introductions, and I see nothing on the horizon that will change that in 2025. CaDA - please come to my rescue! <sigh>

2025 Technic Sets Discussion
Lego Tom replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWell, I can remember when you could get a McDonald's hamburger for $.15, a full size Hershey bar for $.05 and a gallon of gas for $.12 It's called inflation and it's been around for a long, long time.

Liquid chrome marker for repairing chromed Lego pieces?
Model builders use a product called Metal Foil. It comes in different tints, including chrome, aluminum, black, copper and gold. Depending on what you need to coat, it might be worth looking into. It is self adhesive. https://www.bare-metal.com/bare-metal-foil.html

Old Engine Shed
Sorry, I didn't know you had to have the tender in order to put an engine in a shed for repairs...
-
Old Engine Shed
Would the engine fit w/o the tender?

Old Engine Shed
They are 910033-1 Old Train Engine Shed and I'm undecided on whether I'll mod or not.

Old Engine Shed
I bought two of these but have yet to start one. I'm looking for suggestions of an engine to put inside when done. I'm from the Technics side of the tracks, so to speak, and have no knowledge of the various LEGO trains. Would prefer something in steam but am open to suggestions!

BrickLink Designer Program Ongoing Discussion Thread
Received the two train shed sets while I was still on vacation in Alaska. Haven't even had a chance to unpack them yet and both are still in their shipping boxes. Does anyone have a recommendation on what would be a suitable locomotive to use with this set?

Lego Tom replied to PatrickBliekendaal's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWhile you have it apart, there is a modification for slowing the crane's swivel to a more realistic speed. Forgive me for not linking, but it's posted here somewhere. - [MOC] Panzer IV from Girls und Panzer
