  1. nevermind its resolved.
  2. oh man I may have to take a loan out on the house this year, I was one of the nay sayers until we saw some proof, proof has been seen and its like yee haa.
  3. Well alot of the rumours are just that inuendos and such, I have read real rumours scoffed at by the site in general which ended up becoming reality and others hoped for that never came to be, as to funny reactions from shop employees, sorry but even a manager in a TRU would have no clue as to whats coming about and the funny reaction was "like, really? that would be cool" or "where is that coming from?" As to being real lets face never has a new order book come up without being leaked anywhere and nowhere has any new books for late 2012 been leaked, which indicates that said books are not out yet, so it comes back to the fact no one knows yet. as to this thread lasting 36 pages, lets face it, we are hoping such a theme will come out plain and simple, in fact i'm sure when the original LOTR movies came out the same rumours were very prolific on a LEGO version. Also I repeat nowhere is it even hinted at that LEGO has aquired a license to make any LOTR/Hobbit sets, and considering it take awhile once license is aquired to design and test and produce sets, seriously doubt LEGO will be doing them. and trust me on this if LEGO had the license either they would be shouting it out to the world or the Tolkein group would be.
  4. The problem with this is that all these rumours are based on a rumour of a LEGO: Lord of the Rings video game, another problem with that is TT the company that designs and makes the video games is not owned by LEGO, but by Warner Bros., furthermore the previous TT LEGO games which will or do have LEGO sets were owned by Warner Bros. while newline owns the Hobbit and the LOTR rights. Not too mention there is no evidence of LEGO currently (or even rumours to that affect) trying to obtain said license to make sets based on the movies or the books.

Hmm was not aware of that, well I do learn something new every day.
  6. Actually Hasbro has done a generic LEGO line or two, furthermore, remember so far the only companies to have any toy license for LOTR and the Hobbit are Vivid, Bridge Direct (the Hobbit) and Playmates (LOTR), first off Playmates does a construction toy line called intellibricks which they did for the LOTR line. and Bridge Direct (the guys who make the zhu zhu pets line)does have a construction toy line. and right now if a company does not have a license for the line already they will not have it for the movie premier of the Hobbit. Lets face it times up and were out of time for LEGO to aquire the license for the Hobbit or LOTR (while set design may be kept secret by LEGO obtaining Licenses is not). But we can always hope that LEGO will make a new Fantasy line (they have already made dwarves, elves and trolls and such).
  7. Well it appears Vivid (Germany)will be joining Bridge Direct in the Hobbit Toy line and they will have a minifigure line, with no news of LEGO obtaining any of the licensing rights to either the Hobbit or the LOTR it is highly doubtful that LEGO will be producing either line any time soon. Although that isn't to say LEGO will not have its own fantasy line with Elves, Dwarves and such.
  8. Well as of this year Playmates Toys still holds the license for making building block toys (intelliblox)for the LOTR line. Furthermore if LEGO ever planned to make a LOTR line or Hobbit line in the next year or two, we would have heard by now that they have gained the licensing rights to do so. As for the Hobbit Bridge Direct owns the worldwide master toy license for the line: http://www.toyark.com/news/lord-of-the-rings-toy-news-15/bridge-direct-acquire-the-hobbit-master-license-4839/
  9. Awww man I missed out on this, bummer.
  10. congratulations to the winners.
  11. They do not look like they are 3 apples high.
  12. Wish we got free LEGO in our papers here in the US.
  13. POTC is a disney License which LEGO has, LOTR is not, so doubt they will get it, since think another building block company still holds that license, and it didn't fare well.

Not sure if a lot of people know this but Chevron (the Gas Station) also had toy cars which are like the Disney CARs but Chevron came up with them before Disney.
