LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
lego_insider_news said "This set is not Jabba's Throne Room. The piece count, set number, and age rating are right, but this set is not Jabba's Throne Room."

That lego_insider_news guy replied to the post calling it Jabba's Throne Room and said he was wrong. Grain of salt but that guy has leaked out 1 or 2 things now that other sources haven't...

If anything it would be cooler to get more named Jedi we haven't seen recently in the speeder. I'll say it - there are plenty of clones on the market, and if they wanted to add shinies or a shock trooper into a set I'd hope it would be massable and not a one-off like the 332nd in the AAT. I hope they let clones rest a bit until some of these recent sets are off the shelves.

Yes to my understanding this is how it works, I think LEGO has directly stated this in a few interviews. I imagine otherwise original themes would be significantly cheaper. Briefly back on topic: I think plain P2 clones would be a nice addition to the speeder and gets the figure in production if they wanted to do either a battle pack or include 4-5 in a potential future gunship.

Actually, licensing costs are spread throughout Lego's portfolio. In this case, Lego is charging more because they know people will pay more. Regarding your questions about Mando sets, the May sets have had their names leaked, and there's no additional info for the summer Mando s3 set aside from price/piece count.

I agree this would be very odd - glad he wasn't in the battle pack because I know people want to mass those, and I understand they want to stay consistent on not including figures in helmets. That being said, on the anniversary year, plus it just makes sense to have p2 cody and rex on the market at the same time.

Leaks should definitely be pretty accurate, as previously mentioned I think 5 sets have already had number swaps by now. Lots of these other sets were corroborated by multiple sources.

i definitely see the argument, but personally, i think p2 rex in a cheap set during the anniversary just makes sense. would 100% buy just for rex.

lego_insider_news has been rumoring about some upcoming 18+ stuff and just announced that the republic swamp speeder could have rex. cautiously optimistic.

The AT-TE delay was based on a missing bag of parts due to failed QA, so unlikely it has anything to do with that. I do agree that it is odd having a 3rd set that isn't necessarily Ahsoka releasing in September. As for the $100 Ahsoka set being a gunship, it really just costs way too little. The last gunship was $120($155 adjusted for inflation), so even if you nix 100 pieces from it it still has to be at least $140. I remain hopeful this last set could still be a gunship but I'm not holding my breath.

Any chance left that the 1,083-piece set is a gunship? No info on that set besides the release date of Sept. 1 and the piece count?

Just curious, has any leaker actually stated that this Yoda's Starfighter IS the direct remake from 2017? Or have we just gotten the set name?

sure but the last interceptor was episode 3 Anakin, it even had the tattered robes from the duel lol. and based on the last interceptor price point we're only getting a single figure + a droid for $35 from now on

Obi-Wan currently has a starfighter on the market and presumably Ahsoka will be in both of her sets in the fall(one of which is likely a T-6 shuttle). Anakin's green interceptor is nearly identical to the BF2 Yoda one so at that point it's basically just the figure unless lego is actually straight-remaking the Yoda starfighter that isn't an interceptor

LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
I think the BF2 interceptor makes much more sense - $5 more than the Anakin one that happened before the price hikes, with a similar piece count. Meanwhile, the old Yoda's Starfighter was only $20 and had more pieces than the leaked piece count
