Work In Pogress. 1:8 Honda civic type r (FK8)
EdwinSiu10 replied to EdwinSiu10's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks for the method! Yep. Although it is hard to do it, I do find it as a fun process (with ups and downs of course) As of now, I have no plans on making it RC yet. But thanks for the tip anyways, I’ll be aware of it in the future if I decide to make an RC

Work In Pogress. 1:8 Honda civic type r (FK8)
EdwinSiu10 replied to EdwinSiu10's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThat was one thing I worried about… it does have a lot of room for improvement for better stability. I did not realize about that at all… Thank you for pointing it out before it becomes a lil too late, I’ll try the regular hard springs then and reconstruct the other needed areas

Help with a 9 speed gearbox for a 1:8 car
EdwinSiu10 replied to EdwinSiu10's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWow i did not know there was one made. Very cool details, especially with the limited parts for large cars back then. Love the fuel cap function especially. Is it a sequential gearbox or a manual (H style shifting like the actual car)? I am having troubles on making a smaller manual gearbox haha. Thank you for the support and i look forward on the results myself! If you have time, check this out, its the WIP and see if you have suggestions. Thanks!

Work In Pogress. 1:8 Honda civic type r (FK8)
Okay so basically this is just a work in pogress of my 1:8 fk8 moc. So far ive made the front part with steering, suspension, and gearbox. (Ignore the engine for now) Up to now i am happy with the results of the suspension and steering (a hidden axle is linked to it where it will be connected to the steering wheel later on). The gearbox is a 6 speed manual gearbox (H styleshifting). It's bigger than i expected but i guess it's fine for now. The parts where i feel like needs a change is the shifter stick. Right now it is around 2.5 studs higher than the correct scale which kinda bothers me. Any improvements/suggestions will help! especialy for the shifting stick! Help with a 9 speed gearbox for a 1:8 car
EdwinSiu10 replied to EdwinSiu10's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYeah! Somehow no type r 1:8 Mocs were made as far as I’m aware. So far I’ve made the front part, took me some time to figure out how to make an axle to connect to the gearbox and one that connects to steering, with both having to be on the same side.

Help with a 9 speed gearbox for a 1:8 car
EdwinSiu10 replied to EdwinSiu10's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingTrue, that’s why I ended up scrapping this nsx and start on a civic type r, which could include way more interesting features

Help with a 9 speed gearbox for a 1:8 car
EdwinSiu10 replied to EdwinSiu10's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI wanted it to be the same as the real car, so yeah I hope to go for 9 speeds. The 12 speed gearbox of yours look great, I’ll check it out and see it it helps. Thanks a lot Sure! I’ll definitely check it out.

Help with a 9 speed gearbox for a 1:8 car
Currently I am attempting to do a 1:8 Honda/acura nsx (2nd gen). Right now I’m stuck at the gearbox part, mainly because the car has a 9 speed gearbox and idk how to do it. Is there a way to calculate which gear to use/softwares that would help? Any suggestions will be appreciated

EdwinSiu10 replied to langko's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@langko okay I’ll avoid doing that in the future. Sorry about it, I’m a new user here and isn’t quite familiar with the rules

EdwinSiu10 replied to langko's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThese customizations are nice! Idk did you do it, but do minimize the amount of orders on bricklink, you can use Lego’s Pick a brick as it has some newer/rare parts. The suspension customizations are pretty good, and going chrome would top it off imo. About the printed Pagani tiles, could you drop its number or set its in? I couldn’t find it online. The amg logo is a very good idea, and executed well! I’m still deciding wether 75877 or the 76909 one fits more (but first I’ll have to do is to find one cheap) For now I’m not sure what to comment on the change of using hard springs cuz my parts haven’t arrived yet but for now they look Ike a fine modification. Hmm. I’ll see when my parts arrive, hopefully I can come up with a way to make a good roof scoop. Otherwise I’ll simply remove it from the image

EdwinSiu10 replied to langko's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI must have had a “brain malfunction” lmao yes roadsters will not have gull doors and a roof. And I’ll definitely customize it more as it’s my favourite part of building technic cars. If u missed the post above, the reason I asked if it’s a BC is because I am working on this display panel, similar to the sp3 one, which I wanted a more accurate title so asked. But I understand what u meant, so I’ll just put huayra BC then. Here’s the progress if u want to have a look and I would appreciate if you could give some feedback on what to change/improve there. (Ignore the placeholder text, for now just check the car/logos. Thanks) image: https://ibb.co/rF4GYNC

EdwinSiu10 replied to langko's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@astyanax is this model the Huayra BC or the Huayra Roadster BC or none of the above? Because I would like to know the actual model name for the display panel.

EdwinSiu10 replied to langko's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI’m now working on the design of the info panel (like the sp3 one). And I’ll upload it when it’s done. Anyone here know what the font for the ferrari/bmw motorcycle panel is? https://ibb.co/P9jqhqN https://ibb.co/6WmQYL7

EdwinSiu10 replied to langko's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAh I see then I’ll use red as well. I didn’t use the lambo for parts, as it would be out of my budget. Ive managed to keep everything under the price of the lambo (as for now only, cuz I have one more BL order needed). sadly the wheels would cost 1/10 of the price of a retail lambo which I assume is inevitable... with that said, time to get back to checking each store and come up with the cheapest plan to get the remaining 20 different items. (Bricklink auto buy function directs me to buy them from 10+ stores which will result in an unbearable shipping cost.) this will probably take another day but if it saves money I’ll do it (from my previous experiences it does save)

EdwinSiu10 replied to langko's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingWell then I guess I’ll pay the price and get the pearls. Thanks for the hose tip as well. Although I’m not a fan of off brand legos but I’ll check it out anyways. The other parts are fine except the wheels are very expensive but I guess there’s not much of a choice (3D printer at home isn’t working as well :( so I might just buy them) Hope this doesn’t bother you but this should probably the the final “is this invisible” question 😂. You said 72008 can be replaced with red, does that also apply for the black model? (And where does it appear in?) thank you very much for all the help
