Are classic themes dead ?
Well, on a transformers board people were pretty miffed that I dont care for the "cartoon accurate" masterpiece figures, and prefer a hybrid incorporating elements from the toy, the cartoon, and improvements allowed by modern technology. People, especially on the internet, can get testy for simply stating one dislikes something. Even so, if I had a time machine, sure wish I had a 20 pack of those millenium falcoms to-resell.

- Is there a round piece that will fit around a 1 /1 round brick?
And there is no technic cylinder or anything that could achieve this? The problem I have with the cannon shooter is mostly lentgh, although I wish the diameter were a little thinner.- Are classic themes dead ?
Unlke most here, I am not a hardcore adult lego fan. I have the Brick Bounty from 2015, and bought a couple copies as an investment. I have the prison island set and arctic explore set and a couple others. I also have the Barricuda bay which I built as a pirate ship but am modding the middle section so the fighting compartments actually house cannons, with another Barracuda bay set to sell at some point. I will be buying the El Dorado Fortress, probably on Friday. I am really not a fan of Star Wars, cant stand Marvel or other cape*7#. Anyway, I would really like for either Pirates or Space to come back, but it does not seem some the offerings provided have created the sort of sales necessary for that to happen. Maybe the Barracuda Bay and El Dorado sets will revamp pirates, but that seems to be the one thing that could be resurrected. Pirates came along just as I was in high school so my thing as a child was space legos. It was not so much about the sets you could builld but building different spaceships, fighter craft, bases etc with the lego collection you had acquired. I suppose that classic space is never coming back is why I only dabble. The Barracuda Bay ship is pretty sweet although it has its problems (notably the fighting compartment). THe El Dorado set looks almost perfect (I think the crane might of scale and need to be placed on a doc that is modded into but time will tell. I hope I did not offend anyone with my aversion to star wars, marvel etc, I just dont like it but it seems mine is a minority view.- Is there a round piece that will fit around a 1 /1 round brick?
Yeah I saw a moc with that, thats more like a land based mortar. I would need something akin to 1 and 1/2 circumference. I do intend to moc the entire cannon, it may not be possible. This provides inspiration The one at 4:32 is closet but id like a little wider circumference.- Is there a round piece that will fit around a 1 /1 round brick?
I have a mind to try and moc ship cannons for a pirate ship. The reason for this is that the lego cannon that shoots 1 x 1 x 1 round pieces is out of scale. Beyond that, after modding the deck so that cannons can be stationed by the actual cannon housings, its a tight fit if eight cannons are mounted in position. I have seen moc videos, but I would like something larger than 1 x 1 in width. Ideally, I would like a piece that the 1 x 1 x 1 round would fit inside, like a scope if you will. Are there pieces like this? Thanks.- Modding the Barracuda thread
Hello everyone, So I bought this for the pirate ship and it was languishing for sometime on a shelf, due in large part to the modifications I feel are necessary with the mid-section. As others have done, I removed most of the interior in the mid section and removed the lattice window pieces so that the ship can have functioning cannon ports. Unfortunately the cannon ports/windows are too high for the cannons. I think this is a major problem in the set's design. I had bought a number of 1 x 4s in reddish brown to create elevated rails for extra cannons to sit on the gun ports. But this is not how cannons were situated in such ships. With the 1 x 2/ 2 and 2/3 arch window pieces. the cannons need to be raised by two thirds. Part of the solution seems to me to replace these arched window pieces with 1 x 2 x 3 flat front (60593) To anyone who has done that, do I still need to get an extra 1/3 difference so that the cannons fit in the port holes? There has to be some sort of window piece there, other wise the cannon flap pieces fall of the railing pieces that they are attached to I dont really relish the idea of plating the entire floor of the midsection, especially as it would not be level with the other sections. I built most of the island but it looks sprawling, so I am trying to condense it in half the space. At some point I want to acquire extra pieces to create a hideout or in. - Is there a round piece that will fit around a 1 /1 round brick?
