Review: 76022 - X-Men vs. The Sentinel
Yeah, dagnabbit, thank you for this review. I'm constantly lurking around this site for reviews of the new sets but I seem to rarely see them anymore on here. I'm not sure why. I'd much rather see a well-photographed and written review than watch someone blather on in a video. Let's take back our reviews in this forum. Please.

What is your latest Licensed purchase?
I bought the TMNT Shellraiser yesterday at Target for $17. They had three left. I wasn't planning on buying it, but at that price, wow. They also had the Council of Elrond for $7.98. I guess they're making room.

Which set should I buy?
I have finally come into about $180 to spend freely on my hobby. Here is my dilemma: The Fire Brigade (I have no other modulars, but may get started with this)) vs. Arkham Asylum (I love Batman and I've been salivating over this). I know the Fire Brigade is about to be discontinued, but I don't know if I'll come into this kind of cash to spend like this in the near future. Anybody have both and could say which one you would save in a fire? I've also considered R2-D2 and the Haunted House. Please advise. Thanks.

A surprise in The Batcave
I'm happy to report that Target replaced the Batcave. I opened it in the car just to make sure. The worker who took my return said "Missing pieces?" before I'd even said anything. I said that I thought it had been tampered with and she said "No, it's just Lego. I used to work at Toys R Us." OK. I wouldn't mind seeing boxes that were more tamper proof. However, I appreciate the quality of the cardboard.

A surprise in The Batcave
I just opened mine from Christmas tonight and discovered that someone had beaten me to it. Bag No. 1 was bag No. 1 from the Republic Striker Class Starfighter. All the other bags seemed to include the correct parts, but all the minifigures had been removed. Upon further inspection, all of the bags that had contained minifigs had been re-taped closed. The box did not seem tampered with, and if the jerk who took them had opened it he did a fine job tapng it closed. I just hope Target will take it back with my gift receipt. And I sincerely hope they have one with which to replace it.

Review: 79001 Escape from Mirkwood Spiders
I'm assuming you picked this set up in the US. I find it curious that the piece count is not included on the front of the box. Is this expected for all of the new sets? If this is a well-worn subject, I apologize, but I wonder if this will be included on all new US-released sets. At any rate, thank you for a fine review. Edit: Just read the other review in wich you state that the sets were sent to you. I am now assuming that the set is from Europe. Sorry for the interruption!

Alpharetta, GA grand opening, who is going?
Made it about 40 minutes to showtime and I was about a store's distance from the snaking line in front of the Lego store. Ten minutes after I'd arrived they let us in early. I spent about five minutes looking around, grabbed my selection (Weathertop) and headed over to the line to wait for a good hour. I think a lot of people were signing up for the VIP program, which contributed greatly to the wait. This was my first opening, and all of the workers were reasonably nice despite the craziness. The store is quite a bit smaller than the Lawrenceville store, and as that is about 10 minutes away, I imagine this was my last trip to the Alpharetta store. I was able to grab this set only by promising my wife that I could get back what I paid for my set by selling the free gift set on the Internet. When I got home I found that they'd slipped an R2-D2 master builder brick into my bag, even though I did not help with the build. Anybody else get one of these as a surprise? The only issue today, other than the line, were all of the dirty looks from the assembled soccer moms. I could have been there buying a set for my daughter for all they knew (not what was happening of course, but I could have). Anybody else get sick of that vibe or am I too sensitive?

Where do you keep your Minifigures?
Came across this at a yard sale and knew it would be perfect for some of my favorite minifigs. It's a golf ball display case. You can find them for some decent scratch on Amazon, but I scored mine for $2. figs by Jahab, on Flickr

Future Superhero Set Ideas
Give me these: Shadowland; Figs: Evil Daredevil, Moon Knight, Iron Fist, Spidey, Ghost Rider and Bullseye (my favorite Marvel villain). War of Kings; whatever, just give me a Black Bolt fig and take my money. Finally, give me another Deadpool set, but instead of a comic set, make it so you build a Lego box (preferably the box in which it came). You know, like Deadpool is aware that he is part of a Lego set. The fourth wall thing...whatever.

REVIEW : 9498 Saesee Tiin's Starfighter
Glad to see that the green of the ship does not match the terrible green of that nasty little astromech. Makes me think of Oscar the Grouch for some reason. Probably the ugliest grouping of minis I have ever seen.

Review: TC-14 May the 4th promo fig
Took a day off of work just to snag this. Debated for almost an hour on getting the new X-Wing or the Y-Wing (settled for the former). Someone persuade me to open this and not leave it in the bag. I only have one and only plan on having one.

Review: 6857 - The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape
I put this set together yesterday trying to pay close attention to all the tell-tale signs as to the minifigs' place of origin. According to my research (which consisted of looking at someone else's research), non-China figs have the word LEGO printed on the bottom ledges of their feet (china figs are blank) and two dots on their plastic butts (china figs have rectangles around the dots). All of these are present in these figs, so, non-China figs... However, China figs have a rectangles with writing inside of their armpit (I think it says LEGO). There is writing in the armpits of these Super Heroes figs, but I did not notice a rectangle. The writing looks different than the CMFs. The figs also feel tight and LEGO-like (unlike the CMFs). My verdict: Figs are Non-China. Judge Jahab rests. And nice to meet you.

Lighting Trouble w/Emerald Night
Complete rookie on trains. I recently got Emerald Night (to circle my Christmas tree this season), but, as all things train are simply too dear, I purchased everything I needed to get some movement save the IR remote. I held out for the AAA battery box and finally connected the whole rig (except for the remote). When I turn on my battery box (yes, same channel as receiver) I expect the lights to come on up front. Alas, the only light that appears is the green light from the battery box. Should the lights only work in unison with the IR remote or should I rip everything apart and begin anew? Thank you for your help. This train is kind of ugly with the PF additions...
