  1. Oh i cant possibly change my tradition after all of these years what else will give meaning to New Years day, have to take my mind off the hangover lol ill be buying other stuff and get the GWP when it comes out, this hobby is more expensive than a crack addiction but im too deep in it now ha
  2. I like it and can't wait for my annual new year's day trot out to the lego store in Leicester Square to get it. I think it has done a great job of balancing that line between playability and display, offering up a good suggestion of what a real world version may be like, firing the imagination for the stories in your head. I doubt many of the commenters have never even been in to a slightly suspect backstreet club, that has jazz on a monday, a magician on a tuesday and a stripper on .....something one would find in old soho before it went all gentrified, with that and a pizza place and a bespoke tailor shop it offers up great world building for your city. If these buildings were built to real world scale they would be massive and full of corridors, staircases, empty voids and toilets.. so many toilets. All of the comments i see people have made to every single one of the modular buildings before and you know what you can't please all of the people all of the time, if it's not for you then nobody is forcing you to get it, nobody. Spot on, he owns the music shop and does a monday night spot at the jazz club, hes even made a CD that his gf yvonne sells in the foyer, its not a big turn out but he enjoys it, they pop next door for a pizza after, one day he will be a star!

I love it! Great little features inside, lovely minifigs, cant wait to get my hands on it! looking forward to the competition to see who can come up with a design for the interior "carpet" for the ground floor lol Ive seen some pretty hideous cinema carpets in my time lol * Is that really "Mystery on the Monorail"!!!!!!! if so, I e**ing love that!!!!!!*

I think that this is a magnificent addition to the Modular Street and i cant wait to have it! I love the homage to Graumans theatre, with a bit of Hollywood Italianate deco thrown in I really love that the Modular buildings are a little bit "time warpy" and could almost be any place and time, for me this looks very 40's and i love it. I actually rather like the car and it fits in perfectly with the 40's Hollywood vibe, i can just see my Norma Desmond minifig sitting in the back of that on the way to paramount. Really want to see inside now!!!!!
  5. i got mine about 6 years ago by filling in a form on their website and sending them a couple of pound s for postage and £5.99 lol I would have happily paid about 10x that as it was the final piece in my classic town buildings. Its a prized piece and fits in well in "classic" Brickside bay ;-)

  12. Maybe I should whack a couple of decals on mine and flog it for 100 quid! http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/39729 mmm got me thinking
  13. I got mine a couple of years ago on ebay for £90! bargin, all complete, The only issue is that the stickers have seen better days, only the ones on the side of the shuttle and the two steet maps. I'd love to replace them and then it would be perfect. Getting stickers for this is gonna be hard. Keep on going with it tho, it will look amazing when finally done, i love mine!
  14. About 3 years ago i was in Las Vegas for my Brothers Wedding and i took a trip to Wal-mart and purchased the millennium Falcon (second minifig scale version) for an astonashing $60 which was amazing as the retail price at the time in the Uk was way too much ( bring on the weak dollar and triumphant pound!) this then flew back to the UK as my hand luggage, its a huge box and only just fit in the overhead locker. It was also strapped to the top of my suitcase on the long long journey from heathrow back to my home in SE London. I had lovely comments from absolutly everyone, Hotel porters, taxi driver, check in staff, flight attendants, other passengers. It was looked on with awe and wonder with many people commenting on how jelous they were and asking where could they get one, especially lots of guys in their 30's. There were also a few kids giving me the absolute daggers with their little faces green with envy. I buy Lego all the time, I'm very proud of my hobby, i never had a dark age and when i tell people what i collect they are really interested and this usually sparks of talks of childhood memories and on a few occasions prompted them to sell me their collection. Im 32 and never had any negative comments. L
