OK, I wasn't aware of that but it certainly makes a lot of sense! Too bad, it's a nice minifig head... Hope we seen it again some day, if Lego keeps the PoP license for more movies.

Don't lean too hard: you'll fall. I've also seen PoP: the Sands of Time last week. And what MantaMan says is perfectly true. To add to his observations, I'd say camels were in the shot for about 2 seconds (as part of a jumping stunt), there was no crossbow cart, the palace and Dagger of Time storage looks entirely different, the saw and scimitar traps seen in the Quest for Time set are nowhere to be seen. Anyhow, #2 would have been a better guess. In actual fact, I don't think it was Lego designers taking liberties so much as them just not having access to the final print of the movie. Remember, these sets were designed months ago, WAY before this movie had left the cutting room and probably also even before Disney had finished shooting all the scenes. The Lego designers were probably just provided with a couple of character photo's and costume photo's, an unfinished storyboard and some preliminary art, and they were then told to use their imagination (and inspiration from the computer games) to come up with a couple of sets in the correct price ranges. An interesting example is the picture below, featuring Lego art for Sheik Amar: a preliminary minifig design which eventually was dropped, probably because Disney decided to change sheik Amar's look in the movie (he did look too much like a Hassansin)... Most of the Lego characters, including the Hassansins, are featured in the movie, but the minifig which is identified as Gool in the Battle of Alamut reminds me a lot more of the character of Garzin, Dastan's step brother. And the so called Alamut guards are in fact most likely based on the soldiers in Dastan's own Persian army!
  3. There are also a lot of custom molded Boba / Jango Fett helmets out there including the colors green, pearl grey and white, but also other colors. And Brasso is always an easy option to make plain 'unprinted' helmets. Don't be fooled into paying too much for any of these, when they are in fact probably worth less than the printed version.

I find 2TToys to be more expensive when compared to the cheapest Lego webshop in the Netherlands (with a bricks and mortar shop as well in Delft), which is A-Tembo. It's a computer hardware store, but the owner is a Lego fanatic (active with De Bouwsteen LUG) and they sell Lego for the lowest prices. They will have the new sets from June onwards. For example, the CTT will be €109,95 and the Slave I will be €71,95...
  5. Alldarker replied to CopMike's post in a topic in LEGO Star Wars
I also built the new Slave I last Friday... and as a proud owner of the 6209 Slave I, I too was disappointed with the newer Slave I. I don't like the colors much, the build is practically exactly the same as the 6209 and the missile launcher works, but much worse than in the 6209. More importantly, Boba fett was a real let down. His helmet is overly detailed in color, and just goes beyond Lego design and looks more like a Hasbro action figure helmet. I guess I don't like the look of the painted visor much either. And adding a face to Boba Fett ruins the magic of he 'faceless' bounty hunter: it actually gives him too much character. I don't mind the costume much though: it looks good enough. The set also includes too many stickers. In fact, most of the stickers add very little extra to the look of the vehicle. Design wise, Lego still haven't designed the turning wings to swivel in the correct 'movie' style. I also still dislike the cockpit turning with the wings. To add insult to injury, my set had a slight problem with a wrong part included. Instead of including four dark bley 2x3 plates with clip, my set actually included only three 2x3 plates with clip... and a light bley 2 x 4 plate! A useful new part, but the strange thing is that this 2x4 plate isn't actually used anywhere in the set AT ALL. It's an alien part to this set! What I do like is the new Carbonite block, and of course Bossk... Conclusion: I guess that for all those SW fans who do not own the 6209, this is an excellent replacement for it. But in my opinion, the 6209 Slave I is still the better model...

OK... This may or may not be relevant and representative data, but I've just unpacked a whole box in an organized fashion, keeping track of which figures I was picking out. Here is a breakdown of the EU box I recieved, by row, working downwards and starting from top left to bottom right: Row 1. 1. Ninja 2. Robot 3. Nurse 4. Zombie 5. Robot 6. Zombie 7. Zombie 8. Diver 9. Diver 10. Diver 11. Diver 12. Robot 13. Nurse 14. Diver 15. Robot 16. Ninja 17. Ninja 18. Ninja 19. Ninja 20. Magician Row 2. 1. Magician 2. Clown 3. Clown 4. Clown 5. Indian 6. Indian 7. Astronaut 8. Astronaut 9. Astronaut 10. Indian 11. Astronaut 12. Crash test dummy 13. Wrestler 14. Crash test dummy 15. Crash test dummy 16. Forestman 17. Crash test dummy 18. Forestman 19. Magician 20. Magician Row 3. 1. Caveman 2. Skater 3. Cowboy 4. Cowboy 5. Skater 6. Caveman 7. Forestman 8. Crash test dummy 9. Caveman 10. Forestman 11. Caveman 12. Nurse 13. Cheerleader 14. Cheerleader 15. Skater 16. Cheerleader 17. Cowboy 18. Cowboy 19. Wrestler 20. Wrestler Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for any disappointment caused by picking out the wrong figures based on this data. However, what it did suggest to me is that the packaging of the figures is hardly random: almost all the same figures are also in the same rows. I'd at least suggest you not take two packets lying next to each other if you want to avoid getting the same figures. Also, it is more proof that the selection of figures is exactly the same for all boxes, with each containing three complete series and also containing the same extra figures.

Do you guys mean these links? They work fine for me... http://bricks.inof.de/docs/minifig-barcode...-barcodes-a.pdf http://bricks.inof.de/docs/minifig-barcode...-barcodes-b.pdf
  8. Thanks for the excellent review of this excellent set! Of all the Lego Toy Story sets, this one is the only one I actually like a lot, and it's the only one I'll probably get, so I was looking forward to reading a review of the set! I just really like the look of both the truck and the minifigs included! And the functionality of the system looks pretty smart. The 'dirty' look of the figures adds to their coolness and of course their uniqueness.
  9. Hey, you're right! I realise the mistake I made when I wrongly stated that light /medium blue hands don't exist: the Arealight custom Aayla I made was in sand blue, and sand blue hands are the ones that don't exist... Man, those Watto's are expensive (and ugly)...
  10. Well... Cad Bane's going to be released in another set (Cad Bane's Speeder), which should push down his price slightly. However, I suspect Aayla Secura might just become the next Jango Fett... and being unique in a high ticket set usually means the minifig prices will go through the roof.
  11. I have to correct you on this point. Based on the title of your review and the measurements you have given, you are mistaking this model for the A6 Juggernaut, which 'in reality' would indeed be about 50m long by 30 meters high. This would mean this model would be WAY undersized. However... this, in actual fact, is a model of the predecessor of the A6 Juggernaut: the A5 Juggernaut, which is 'only' 22 meters long and 15 meters high, with a capacity of 50 troops. That would approximate the scale of this model a whole lot better!
  12. Thanks for finishing the review! It's turned out to be a really nice set, and definitely one of the best ones in the Atlantis theme. The whole complex looks excellent: I love the stairs and especially the portal. I take it all parts of the diaphragm gate open when the key in front of the gate is turned, similar to the Gateway of the Squid? The mechanism looks very interesting! The Gatekeeper is probably the highlight of the whole set though. That bronze weathered armor is pure love! It's strange, but the whole 'office' and bedroom setup in the Portal is slightly sad, like the Gatekeeper has been cursed to spend the rest of eternity guarding the Portal... oh well, at least he can sleep on the job! Even though Atlantis isn't really one of the themes I was planning to invest too heavily in, I'd still definitely like to get this set when it comes out... That diaphragm mechanism is superb, as is the shark gate setup. Like the review states, it's slightly strange the gates and barriers are all catered to keeping out trespassers in two dimensions, while a third dimension is very accessible underwater! Still, we'll have to suspend our disbelief for that once again; something with forcefields perhaps...
  13. Better pics of what, exactly? I can't see anything new on that page...
  14. Light blue hands don't actually exist in Lego. I am always slightly disappointed that the color selection of Lego hands is pretty limited. I too made an Arealight Aayla Secura (in sand blue): I'll be building the Turbo tank this week so I'll be able to take a picture of the custom Aayla and the official Aayla side by side.
  15. It seems that more proof has been provided already...
  16. To be fair, I've ordered a box myself, but haven't been able to pick it up from the postoffice yet, and therefore I've not been able to check the contents of a box personally... I might actually be the one proving myself wrong!
  17. What I have written in the spoiler is true. A couple of members of lowlug.nl (including me) have ordered complete boxes and all have reported what I have 'spoilered'.
  18. Actually... This may be a bit spoiler-ish... This may of course be different in the USA boxes...
  19. WRONG The white Boba Fett was created at a time when Jango Fett was far, far away on the horizon of time...
  20. I like to pretend that the ribs belong to a Taun Taun. The size would fit, and I can't remember too many life forms able to live on Hoth except for Wampa's and Taun Tauns... Or perhaps they are intended as the remains of another Wampa. I could imagine them being canibals. Anyhow, yes, this set could have done with the Taun Taun / Han Solo from the Hoth Rebel Base... But including two expensive and unique creature molds (practically unusable in other sets) would probably have made this set far too expensive to be marketable.
  21. I built this yesterday, as the first of the three Amazon.fr SW sets I received. High;ight of this set has to be the Wampa. It's an interesting mix of scary and cute. It's a nice size too: and I can imagine a specialized big piece like this will have pushed up the price of this set by a fair deal. In person, the holes in the insides of the arms aren't as visible as the pictures make it look. Also, due to the fact that the Wampa is very front-heavy, it pays off to turn the arms back along his body. The pictures show the Wampa with the turkey-leg held up, but it actually looks better with the meat in the palm of his hand. The cave is actually quite nice, slightly higher than the pictures make it look, in my opinion. I do wish they'd put in the old style skeleton with loose arms instead of the overly long droid arms, but I'll forgive them. The Taun Taun remains are a nice touch as well... there's quite a few pieces that go into building it, and the result looks pretty convincing. Luke's torse is nice; another variation on the Hoth cold weather gear. The lightsaber shooter is a total waste of space though... Idea is good, but the execution of the idea is awful. The Snowspeeder is OK. I do like the engine set up more than the 7666 Hoth Base. The stickers on the rear windscreen are slightly weird, I'm not sure where those designs came from. I think that they've finally got the main gunplacement right: the guns on both the 4500 Sniowspeeder and the 7666 Snowspeeder are set just a bit too far from the middle due to the jumperplates. I am glad they're keeping roughly the same designs for all of the Snowspeeders since the 4500, and it's still easy to see them as different variants due to customizing, newer models in service etc.. It sets the rough and ready makeshift Rebel vehicles apart from the clean, uniform Emperial army.

To be very honest, I don't like this new space shuttle. It's way too small to be in true minifig scale, but too big for miniland scale. I also don't like the way they've done the main booster rocket: the parts they've used on the nose will make it look like a flattened rocket and not a round rocket like it should be. Didn't we already read rumors that Lego will release a new Imperial Shuttle with landing platform as a S@H exclusive set? I believe even the figures that will come with it are known (from the NY Toy Fair folder) and we have a fair idea of parts and price...
  23. I totally agree with you. The only things I like about this set are the minifigs, especially the Medical Droid and the pilot: the ship itself is a disappointment. I also have an order from Amazon.fr making its way towards me, including the Slave I, the Wampa Cave and the Juggernaut, but while I wasn't sure if I should regret not ordering the shuttle, now I think I made the right decision in not ordering it.
  24. No, please don't take it the wrong way, and do stay! I'd hardly call this messing up! I (alldarker) was pre-emptively chasting myself: the mods really don't like regular members like me pointing out mistakes ('mini-modding') to other members, so I was letting the mods know I myself knew I was slightly out of line by pointing you to the right forum. That's why I was saying "bad alldarker": it was actually to myself Sorry for the misunderstanding. * and that, kids, is why you should leave modding to the professionals... *
  25. Like I posted before, I'd say this is still a photoshop'ed preliminary picture of the cover. Like you mention, the layout is still pretty terrible, but I do think the photo of the models and the figures will represent the contents of this set.
