I can't decide whether or not to pull the trigger on this. It comes down to two things. What are the chances of TLG making an official UCS set and do I have the time/patience/money to bricklink the parts. Are any others facing this dilemma?

The new RGS is really almost essential to complete this. For Anakin/Obi-Wan. Make me wonder if TLG has time to squeeze in an EP III centric wave befor VII

Only good part of this arc was the republic commando who completely f'd stuff up. Otherwise nice moc. Instantly recognizable.

The only response I see fitting to this is this video. I agree I think JJ will knock it out of the part. Just don't give Lucas any creative license and we are good. On the theme of Lego. I hope they introduce new ships but they kinda have to stick to most of the current after Return. Definitely star destroyers and x-wings and things of that nature. The EU is so in dept they really don't have to make new designs. I would love to see e-wings v-wing airspeeders eta-5 and so on. Of course slave II also.

My guess would be the 1x4 hinge plate. I can't think of anything else that would allow the bend.

Where are you going to keep this thing? That is my question. Also what is next. I think an Amon Sul would be smaller but awesome and doable. Otherwise I don't know Orthanc?

I will be getting it as i have been waiting for news/pics since it was rumored but I am VERY DISSAPOINTED in the open back. it makes it kinda cheesy for me. I think tlg couldnt decided whether this was marketed toward adult collectors like ucs or kids.

I have it and I love it. The build is fun and enjoyable besides having the do the legs 4 times. Comes with a great set a Minifigs also. I also bought mine after it had run its course. I dont't know how attached you are on getting a NIB or 100% complete. But i got mine 100% complete with no box for half of what you are saying. Now i am not too attached with having the box. But i would say look for that route. I would take a blurry prelim pic of Orthanc over all the hi res of the Wave. And i dont count the pic with the measurments.

I think it is more that of all the core armies shown in the films, not counting haradrim/easterlings. Gondor's is the only one that has not had any representation at all and is probably the largest "good" army in the movies. It is the only army that i can think of in the movies that hasn't been represented yet or in the current wave coming. Moria Orcs, Mordor Orcs, Uruk Hai, Rohan, Elves, Army of Dead, Corsairs. Are there any others we are missing, movies only not counting books. With regards to the current wave though. The Black Gate does look incredible, I wish the would have done something similar to Uruk Hai Army with it, A separate set with the other Tower of the Teeth and some orcs and soldiers. That could sell good especially with the chance to expand the gate.

I have been checking this site daily for hope an news of Orthanc. I have been dissapointed most days. As I am not knowledgeable on the subject. When is the next convention or fair that it could be revealed? Also with regards to the current topic. If Gondor/Pelennor battle sets are not released i will most certainly consider this line a failure. How do you not touch upon the greatest battle of the middle earth in the third age, and no i do not count the corsair ship as part of it. The obsurdity of this gives me hope that TLG would not drop the ball on something so obvious.

Don't have either but I would say warg attack. You can jumble up the orcs and make them different.

Might not be the right thread, but has there been any news/hints/rumors of New Line redoing the original LOTR in 3D? A lot of movies are doing it and though I would not want it to happen it could add a little more longevity to this line which i do want.

Looks good, but the 7B would have the astromech in front of the cockpit. You have the Delta-7. I like the design, sleekness, and snot. And using the nose build from the UCS is good too. What does the bottom and engines look like?

Is there a single thread where all the LOTR and TH reviews can be found?

I will be getting this maybe, I remember reading that there will be extended editions similar to LOTR so might hold out for that.
