  1. ^ I know but these are sets I do not display and do not want to display anymore either for lack of space or a dislike of the model that grew over the years. I am keeping the bulk of my collection but there are a few sets that need to go.
  2. Thanks, lots of building to do tonight to get the sets together.
  3. Does that mean we will not see a Sauron from LOTR? Not talking about the Necromancer as I am sure PJ will make him look different than in FOTR.
  4. If I was looking to sell some of my SW sets would it be better to sell them on here, ebay, or a different site?
  5. Does anyone think we will see a set depicting the Last Alliance?
  6. Here is a little math I estimated using this website http://www.suave.net/~dave/cgi/scale.cgi. The wizard battle as i can tell from pictures looks to be 16 studs by 16 studs at widest point. The Orthanc measurments we got was 8.27 inches wide. Given that Orthanc is square shapped it is most likely 8.27in by 8.27in which using the converter would be 26.26studs by 26.26studs. It is not inconceivable that the Wizard battle could easily fit in Orthanc. Just my observation.
  7. jmagaletta replied to Mr. Cube's post in a topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's Palpatine from SW. Palpatines Arrest Set. Great job. They all look great
  8. Cut cost. There would have to be be multiple molds which in turn cost more to produce.
  9. Does anyone think that they may go beyond the hobbit movie? It is possible with the appendices. The fall of numenor perhaps?
  10. I am sure this has been asked. But I am not knowledgable with dates of conventions/fairs. When is the next event that could possibly have information regarding Orthanc?
  11. I just looked at my copy of The Hobbit and it doesnt have appendicies. Do you mean ROTK appendicies?
  12. I am a Die Hard Lego SW and have been so close to forgetting that line and going all LOTR/The Hobbit. But TLG has yet to make those sets and figures that will push me over the edge.
  13. I know I do want to see a Necromancer and Sauron. Lego has really yet to see the amazing sets that can be produced from this line. It's sad. How long does TLG have this License for? I hope it is for a more years then just after the last Hobbit movie.
  14. Oh God, the Battle of the Pelennor is so much better in the book. I know it is a movie and there has to be suspense but Jackson made the Gondorian soldiers look very weak. Also the fact that no enemy besides the Witch King entered the city. Ugh such a shame. And the dead at the Pelennor instead of Gondor's armies/Grey Company. Ok rant over even though I could go on and on. A prince Imrahil minifig would be amazing. Too bad Jackson dropped the ball on including the Knights of Dol Amroth.
  15. I may be mistaken but I remember reading how the orcs from Minas Morgul were different than the orcs at Cirith Ungol.
  16. Technically speaking Gothmog is a Minas Morgul Orc. Some differentiation is made in the books.
  17. It most likely will. I know that they are including a whole storyline not "present" in the book about battling the Necromancer/ Dul Guldur. No one knows what those scenes will be like as it is all up to the writing and Peter Jackson's imagination. Also the third movie is supposed to climax with "The Battle of Five Armies" Google it if you want but it will spoil some things possibly.
  18. Simply amazing. Great job. I too would also love the LDD of this. Very Impressive!!
  19. Also what do you guys think is the chances of more UCS sets if in fact Orthanc is considered UCS?
  20. It think it is as similar to a battle pack can be. TLG categorizes Battle packs as a battle in a pack. That is exactly what Uruk Hai Army is. And if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck it's not a mongoose. The only significant difference between the two is that the piece count was higher for the builds and two more minifigs. Regardless I really hope TLG will introduce more of this style of set for the purpose of Army Building. Only a few soldiers per faction isn't cutting it. Especially with all the different army's they can do.
  21. I would say both. But the exception being I won't get a set if the build is not good and the figures are. But if the build is exceptional and the figures mediaocre I will still get it. It also varies set to set. For example the obvious draw of the Wizard battle is the mini figs not the small set. One thing I think TLG is dropping the ball on is battle packs. I thought they were when Uruk Army they would continue with that type of set. Do you think they will have similar sets in the future?
  22. I do hope this general chat continues. Similar to the one in the Star Wars thread. I thought about Weathertop also. It is the only set with Ringwraiths!!! the set is just a little to small for me compared to the reference material.
  23. Despite the "overwhelming outcry" for Bagend. I am going to get Mirkwood Spiders. I like Kili and Fili and the Legolas with elvish Armour. It is a cheap set. And will also get Attack of the Wargs. Gives me my favorite dwarves, Fili, Kili, and Thorin. Some enemies too. The only figs I like about Bagend is Dwalin. Though the set is nice I am not really into it. I will have to pick up Bilbo at some point but hopefully next Hobbit wave. As for LOTR I believe I will not get anymore of the current sets and will wait for the upcomming wave. EDIT: Just Mirkwood Spiders. Hope for Azog and Thorin in a winter wave.
  24. ENTS or Treebeard most likely. Would make the Orthanc set But do agree with the rather having Minas Tirith or even Minas Morgul
  25. Why not a UCS Venator. I think that would be one PT set that would do good as a UCS. Who is with me.
