  1. Ahoy, fellows. It took me a month and a Microsoft Account reactivation to answer this thread! My Eurobricks account remounts to the first year of Historica, and then was dropped and never used again. Thank you very much for displaying these Ships here; I am not a dedicated shipbuilder - though I often do my homework when deeplly envolved on grerater MOC building. Actually, I've built several smal one maist ships for LugBrasil''s castle expo layout on the past years, but haven't until this year dedicated myself on a more realistic build. But last December I built a small ship for CCCXIV - rather fantasious - and realized how far from realistic ships I've been. This one seems like the bastard son of a Cog and a Dhow: The Falcon Clinker by Felipe Avelar, no Flickr I've been on a heavy Lego Schedule since last year, trying to enter as many things as I can, but with all household, baby and work duties I often find myself overwhelmed, So, after missing the deadline for the second round for The Tourney 2017, I decided to do a "me" build, as In not something built for a Lego competition, expo, festival or challenge. The first hull (Amberle/Cutter) was built on a "tablescrap" mood. After building it, I went deep on studying shipbuilding, the terminology, how and why things are there. One of my main goals was to set gearboxes below decks, to fine tunes most lines and stays. That's because, while building the ship for CCC, I realized how hard was to manually tighten lines to a proper pression, and I thought that maybe Technic could help me. As for the Ships themselves, they'd be both "modern 20th century" refurbished yachts. The Amberle is a "19ht Century Converted British Trawler", so It's interesting as a Pirate forum subject. The Ketch is a properly 60's ship, a flat bottomed near-coast and river vessel. The Cutter was built first and a testbed for future builds: the Ketch wasa builtd because I looked at my part collection and just realized I could do a second one. They are still assembled, but I look forward to take them down and build a realistic 18th century Schooner with the likes and colours of the Cutter, Ii think the tanbark sails with the light tan hull looks great. I do not own any pirate boat sets, and that was a Challenge while building these ones, because of the lack of masts parts. I had to develop a axle/pin and technic connector mast, which is kind of weak to line tensions. I am currently trying to develop a "metallic 3.8mm Lego-compatible bar". In sizes of 10 to 12 inches, would be the core on the masts, so I could get them strong, while still retaining the modular advantage of technic connectors. Lego Masts are great but they do are somewhat limited to their sizes. Thanks very much for the comments and I look forward to bring a real Pirate-esque ship next time.

  3. Been away for a long long time but wanna get back in. Should I read almost two hundred of thread pages or someone can make me a briefing of last eight months, please Edit: Just saw that it's Done. Last Challenge was awesome - and that's what's up with all the fuss I saw lately. Gotta read to vote.
  4. Hi to all GoH inhabitants! I am Nocturnian and we're awesome! I am active member, been away for a month but still trying to get into Round III with the time bonus we got. The thing I like the most in GoH is getting in touch with this great group of fantastic builders, and not just hanging around with them but helpin each other's building evolution in a very friendly way. I really like the themes and guilds, but I didn't really like challenge II - I think that we didn't quite taimed the properties of each guild, and we we're asked to build something that had to account with other Guild's features, it came out a bit confusing to me. I really don't like being involved in big builds, I already have a 'big build' schedule for year for my Lug's annual expo, and I think the challenges should be focused on smaller tasks that involves more creativity and building fun than supersized creations, I think that's something that should be avoided. Until now, I don't really think that was asked, I am just saying that it shouldn't. I reall think that's nice if you can do big, but that shouldn't be a rule. Also, something that stills bothers me is that the Guilds look much alike in some aspects. I think that, for Round IV, Guild Rivalry should finally be lighten up, not exactly for direct contac at first, but we should already get the enemy invasion feelling between the Guilds, GOH started with it , but tha, that was lift from the game.

This is an awesome build, and is very nice to see how you took attention for improving it with th inputs the guys gave you! Your palace is great and I will surely send one of my best archers to take place into Mpya Stedor's tournament!
  6. Excellent work, both in building and story waeaving! I really loved the first photo with the desert horizon and the golden sun is really awesome!
  7. I liked them all, the gatehouse is very nice, full of nice details, and the 'ruined shrine' is specially beautiful!
  8. Nice MOC, I loved the natural vegetation aspect and the roof is great! The pumpkins and vines are very nice, also! I have a "Secret Cuusoo Project" that is slowly likely the idea you had, but mine is to get something like a 5929 Knight and Castle Building Set (144 pieces) and make it the size of a 5933 Airport Building Set (310 pieces). Well, now it's not secret anymore! I'll be uploading this project soon (I am actually waiting for a recent order to arrive, so I can finish the project) and count with your support!
  9. Thanks everyone for the comments and compliments, I took notes and definetely will make it better next time. After more than two weeks I took some time do finish the edition of the photos, so here's the complete photossession: Frost Viperae - Lord Malvadex Embassy in the North por Felipe Descomplicado, no Flickr Frost Viperae - Lord Malvadex Embassy in the North por Felipe Descomplicado, no Flickr Frost Viperae - Lord Malvadex Embassy in the North por Felipe Descomplicado, no Flickr Frost Viperae - Lord Malvadex Embassy in the North por Felipe Descomplicado, no Flickr Frost Viperae - Lord Malvadex Embassy in the North por Felipe Descomplicado, no Flickr Frost Viperae - Lord Malvadex Embassy in the North por Felipe Descomplicado, no Flickr Frost Viperae - Lord Malvadex Embassy in the North por Felipe Descomplicado, no Flickr
  10. Let's get that fire piece of rock! I think 'Dungeons' It's nice, because this week, to remeber old times, I will be hosting an AD&D RPG game as Dungeon Master with my friends, and capturing treasures is all abou them! I'm sure I'll have tons of inspiration for the builds after that! Merodaquinas city grows in a nice pace! Lord Khan's House - Merodaquinas Judge and Family par Felipe Descomplicado, sur Flickr I also came out with a Red/Gold Snake template for Shields, to suit Nocturnus' Flags and also suit my character's personality - as you may remember, he is Snake, the Elusive. I call this the "Viper House": Snake the Elusive and his Sons - Nocturnus Guild par Felipe Descomplicado, sur Flickr and also came out with these creepy Knights: Apocalipse Riders - Nocturnus Guild par Felipe Descomplicado, sur Flickr
  11. Lord Khan is a nobleman of the Viper House. He is in charge of Land Executioning in Merodaquinas city. This MOC was created for LUG Brasil's Fifth Castle Challenge. I took the faction I created for my human Nocturnians to uphold the colours of Lord Khan's House, and off course it was placed on my Nocturnus city. C&C always appreciated! Now I will finish editing the other photos from my Embassy...

Very interesting to see such political tendencies to grow in snowy Mitgardia. Really liked the patterns on the houses. Great brick-like work. Also, the amount of detailing on this houses is awesome! Great facades!
  13. Cij Daoke replied to Derfel Cadarn's post in a topic in Guilds of Historica
I just hate Derfel. He is like the Jimi Hendrix of our Lego age - maybe the "Steve Vai" of it, it depends on how old are you. After him, everything you do is losely based on anything he did - even if you didn't ever saw any of his works. Just kidding, man. Your skills are inspiring. Loved the half timbering of this, the style is really autentic. Hope you don'ty play guitar as good as you build with Lego or I'll be really jealous...
  14. Yes, we rule the air with our Dragons! Winged Hell Beast par Felipe Descomplicado, sur Flickr Also, there's a Dragon Nesting Area near to Merodaquinas, and we're accepting requisitions for tamed Dragons!
  15. Hi guys, This is my Entry for Round II. I have just one picture uploaded because I am on a hurry Nocturnus Embassy par Felipe Descomplicado, sur Flickr I'll probably have better ones uploaded tomorrow! Wow, it's 23:58 on my clock! Guess I'm in time!
