Castle sets 2008/2009
Ive come to realize that there are 3 wheel sizes, and the one in the Kings Chariot is the same as the Skeleton Prison Carriage. It will be nice in that brown color. Otherwise, I think its healthy for us as fans and for TLC to hear feedback from everyone possible, even if it is considered whining, being picky or griping about anything. As long as something is presented in constructive criticism with the tools and ideas of moving a concept forward. I agree that if its just "Needs like 5 more figs and armor and no more kings" or along the lines of selfish input for ones own gain then its better to rethink the advice for the purpose of the benefits for both the producer and consumer. Otherwise, I think its a low out put this year, but being its a spring or first half release Im hoping another 3-4 sets will pop on by this year. But 4 great sets non the less that are gonna be bought out and built up! :P

Castle sets 2008/2009
My impressions thus far, Kings Chariot: i agree with the general feeling that this poor horse needs some PETA back up. Maybe they could get a Pamela Anderson minifig in a bikini to protest. One more horse would be great, but I guess it will all come down to cost effectiveness. I see this set going about 20$. Otherwise good to see properly armed trolls and the golden armor is always welcomed. Also I dont know if the wheel size is new or not, I have 2 sizes myself, but this one look like its minifig and even horse sized. I hope the chest is gold as well. improvements: I think a shield for the knight would be nice, and a reduction in the overall bulkiness of the chariot and hitch. And is that knight floating or standing on his high lord kings chariot!? Drawbridge Defense: I disagree with the anti-ness towards the golden knight. It would be awesome if his legs and arms were pearl gold. The face mask looks pretty golden to me and coupled with a pearl gold helm would be pure pimpness. Imagine how many ladies he would pick up at the Medieval Market Place!? The new plume is a welcome addition. The jester is a bit out of place but it looks like the skelie will take care of him with that spear :) The princess or queens head is covered by some odd piece, but would be nice as well, the King and his 6 daughters. Again the Pimp knight needs his ladies. The fig selection is nice, good to have a cape as well. The building itself looks to have some nice details, I hope the ramp is attached to the tower itself and will be less steep. Ive liked the knights color scheme so far with Dark Blue and Pearl Gold but these new sets look great with just the Pearl gold as well. improvements: I hope they can smooth out the ramp and make sure it is attached from the bottom to the tower. Troll Fortress: This set looks tricky as well. When the photos of Kings Castle Siege came out it looked much smaller and less dimensional then it really is, I hope the same optical illusion applies here. It looks like a separate troll faction all together. The big trolls look great with the black armor and what looks to be the Troll jaw logo on they belt and helm. I hope they keep the black and the clubs look much better as well. There does seem to be a color difference in the Troll kings crown and the imprisoned kings. If you look closely it even looks like the Troll king is wearing the kings armor! I hope that could be taken as an indication that he will receive his own armor piece as well. Those new flame pieces are quite stylish. Its sticking nicely with the fig count, as far as I can tell 10 in total, just like 7094. 6 Trolls, and 4 Crownies. Though my only issue is if your gonna take a king hostage wouldnt you just take him out instead? And what kind of rescue is a 3 knight gang goinna pull off?! Otherwise I think it looks decent overall, should the structure be kept as is, you can always Troll it out with some flags and more flames and some rubble looks. Its also quite wide from the looks of it, as the structure is past the knight in the far left. improvements: A bit more griminess and grit, and maybe minus the king and replace with a golden knight or a wench? But in reality I wont judge until they are official and either way im looking to add all 3 of them to my bustling and growning collection. It might not be on par with the 07-08 collections but it still beats pretty much anything else besides the true classics.

10193 Medieval Market Village
This set is quite the magical box of bricks! a few things ive noticed, WOW has LEGO taken note of AFOL techniques. they are all over the place. from the brick built animals which are awesome to the windows and tree. its just all around amazing. the influences are splendid. the price is great too!! great set at a great price. LEGO is definitely on top of things with castle, im sure this is a theme that has a long road ahead! about the "plume" on the rooster. its not a plume, its the same piece as the new flame in this set and pirate sets. im sure its the default minifig accessory thickness. dont know its measurement. but its definitely not a plume. but still this set has no flaws! im loving it!

Castle sets 2008/2009
Now I know that the Advent Castle Calender 7979 has been updated and now features new figs, and the pre-pic is no longer useful. However I was looking more closely at the pre-pic and it seemed to me that the knight was carrying a quite bright broad sword, and even looks like it might of been pearl or chrome gold. Below you can see the pic for your self. On another note does anyone know any information about the set, its release date(probably Sept) or any new pics floating around? Ive seen that on the new box pic there are the parts detail on the box top, any possible close-ups? Ide sure like to know more about this special set! Pre-pic of 7979:

Minifig Quality
For me its been the 2008 line that has really grown in quality regarding appearance, theme and expression but has seemed to slip in quality of parts. Ive bought recently 3 Impulse Knights and 2 of them have the loose leg problem. With little effort of wiggling they come right out. I have a simple solution for the problem. Hungary. Since 2007 Ive heard and seen that Hungary has built and produced Lego parts and have a factory as well. Big Problem. I dont know how many Hungarians there are on this forum, but I know I am of direct decent, both my parents being Hungarian. I lived for 4 1/2 years in Budapest and I know that Hungarians are one of the biggest short cut, easy way out cultures in the world I have seen. So I would not be suprised at all if more faulty parts are being produced from the beautiful country. I think it would be wise to have the knowledge of what parts, pieces are being produced from which Lego factories and I think it would be a good issue solving step for the company.

How much is your collection worth?
Wow some great Sounding collections out there. Well I havent yet checked on Peeron or Bricklink but my Brickset list is at: 141 Different Sets. Some sets I have 2 of, most Newer City and Castle Sets I have 3 or 4 of each, There is one Castle KK set I had 9 of, and another 12 of. I think I easily have around 200 bought sets, and another 20-30 inherited/adopted sets, and another 120-140~ inherited/adopted Minifigs and more then 3 Kilos of inherited/adopted loose bricks. Together I estimate more then 450 Figs, more then 12 Kilos of bricks and about 250~ sets. A rough estimate would put that around 3000-3500$. Though I need to follow it up to be more direct and less estimating. One of the things I most look forward to in being a father and parenting is to build this collection one day with my children and leave it to them when it will probably double in size and more then double in value. The way I see it, is that current Fire, Police and Castle Sets and Figs will be in 2030 something like the 80's Sets and Figs are today. Just need to wait a couple years to see :)

Castle sets 2008/2009
There isnt even a flick fire piece in the back, TLC wants kids to use their fingers directly to flick fire them? I smell lawsuits with broken fingers... Anyways, I dont understand the logic of the missile with no firing mechanism and I know its Castle Fantasy but what next? Mystic Elves with Nuclear Silos and Laser Sight Mounted Bows? just kidding but I think the older model itself would of been a better choice even without the leader fig with armor and using the current fig. Just my opinion.

Lego Factory Heading in Castle's Direction?
I think it could be a great thing for Lego and for Lego castle, if it were done the right way. Now im not a Trains fan but from what i could tell, the hobby train set wasnt half bad, even for parts to make your own. Now the Market Place set does stand out somewhat from the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer but it still keeps a similar style. As for the space sets, Lego hasn't released space sets for about a decade now, as Star Wars took the reign. But if you look at the last Lego space sets, like UFO, Exploriens, and Insectiods these new sets dont stand out so bad from a progression point of view. I wouldnt want Lego Factory to make useless castle sets of course, but if a modular Castle set would be made with AFOLs in mind I think it couldnt go so wrong. Possibly a town square, or a village to expand the castle world. Just like how Cafe Corner and Market Place gave city figs and sets a place to eat, sleep and hang out, making it more real. Because so far all we have are catapults and horses and a Castle, but no real place for the minifigs to live and interact with their environment. So if Lego would expand on this just like with their modular buildings I think it would be a benefit.

Castle Photo Frame
Looks ok, not too bad, some castle pieces are always nice, do you know how long they will last? Is it a seasonal souvenir? Im going back to California in Sept. and will be going to Legoland for sure, I might just pick one up, along with many many other castle sets. Will you be posting more pictures of it on BS, or any other hosting sites?

Lego Factory Heading in Castle's Direction?
I surfed over to http://www.classic-castle.com/ today, to see what was happening there and found a new news article on the main page, that Pick-A-Brick now has Castle mini figs, armor pieces and crossbows. Could this be a brighter future for Lego Castle? It seems to me that Lego is taking quite an interest in expanding the theme. Check it out for yourself! http://us.factory.lego.com/pab/ Could it be possible that we could see Factory Castle sets in the near future? I would really hope so!! I think this theme is very rich in imagination and expansion and I really am looking forward to seeing that! On another note, I would really like it if Lego would produce a yearly diagram/portfolio of how well they sold, which themes sold well. Ide be interested in seeing how well the Castle theme is doing compared to others. And to see in general which themes people buy the most, before 2007, Ide guess Star Wars, Bionicle and City, but Castle now I think would be in the top 3....Just my thoughts.. Castle Expansion ON!!
