  1. It looks great :) I like what you have done with the side middle side sections - although it might be a mm too narrow now that the gap is closed completely ;)
  2. Wow, you have already built TWO Blockade Runners - just by looking at the pictures I guess? Well done!
  3. @EKae Looking good! How big is that hammerhead? From what I gather it should be 110meters - meaning 55 studs to be in scale. Or maybe it is 100 m and 50 studs. In any case it should be much smaller than the CR90, but I can't find official stats anywhere.
  4. If you use hinge bricks there should be no need to cover up. But I used a 1x2 door rail at the end of the panel.

Getting a girl/boyfriend can for some herald the coming of a dark age. Be sure to build with them early on! On another note, building comes in waves. Sometimes I don't build for a year and will have several abandoned projects lying around. For me dark ages only really sets in when big things happen in your life that makes lego seem less important for a while; puberty, getting a baby, jail time etc.
  6. No one forced you to buy a pirated set, but as your boss said, if someone only has money for food, who cares about piracy. However, I am not sure that is really your situation. In the end, I do not understand why you feel you need to defend buying pirated sets on a Lego fan-site and then begin to call people fanatics when they call you out on it. (I work in software myself)
  7. I have never argued that it is not an old problem. I am arguing that you should care, because by buying counterfeit products you are in the end hurting the businesses you pose to like and some day the businesses someone you know or even yourself work for. If you do not understand this, I can't help you. And yes, I am talking about Jack Ma.
  8. The case is featured in the Danish media a lot - I do not have a have an English source. The owner has gone on record and dismissed Lego as a thing of the past, saying Lepin's way of doing business (stealing IPs and designs) is they way of the future. If you think I am a fanatic for not condoning practices that could be the end of Lego, well then go right ahead. Lepin, are getting faster and faster copying sets. If they are not stopped, they will eventually be able to put sets in the stores mere weeks after TLG has launched them - for a price TLG will never be able to compete with. The case is ongoing and the Chinese administration is taking it seriously, but because of Lepin's ties to the government the normal seize and desist policies under international laws are not being upheld. But please stop to think about it. Because you can get a set cheaper here and now, you are condoning a business practice of stealing. You may not care about TLG, but if unchecked these practices will eventually hurt the businesses of you own community. That Lepin would also steal from moc'ers underline their moral bankruptcy. And to be honest, I find it paradoxical that Lepin's actions are being justified because TLG is a "bad" company just wanting to earn money. If every company were as unscrupulous in the quest for profit as Lepin, we would all indeed be ...
  9. No matter how you try to justify it, the business practices of Lepin is illegal and if there wasn't laws to protect against such companies everyone's job would be in constant jeopardy. And stating the Lepin does not hurt Lego sales is simply being naive. Furthermore, Lepin is owned by the second richest man in China with strong ties to the central government - which is why the criminal prosecution keeps being halted. He could buy TLG if he wanted to, so your agenda to defend the little person is somewhat misguided. In the end, this is a forum for Lego fans, and while you are entitled to your opinion, it is not a forum for defending illegal company practices - no matter how evil you feel TLG is.
  10. There is so much character in these creations and the Calvin & Hobbes toonish style really make the models come alive! I love it!
  11. For the side panels you can use normal hinge bricks - wich will give a much narrower gap. Use door rails near the end to close the slightly larger gap there nicely :)
  12. @ScottishDave you're welcome :) I actually had a look designing that landing gear. It shouldn't be too hard, but you may still need a few extra (transparent) legs for stability. I opted not to have the landing gear, since mine is displayed flying through space :)
  13. I agree with DarthTwo. Besides, Lepin is a criminal company facing prosecution. Buying Lepin is a criminal offense, regardless how anyone feel about it. However, when it comes to protecting the designs of moc'ers, I do not think there are any international laws to protect the community.
  14. Beautiful Khaled! You have even captured the red light reflecting on the bulkheads - superb!
  15. @ecmo47 yeah, you could do try that - have just tested that in my ldd but it is a bit hard to judge, looks a bit funny from the side :) Speaking of engines, they are set up and constructed a bit different than mine, but from I see I would suggest skipping the core of 2x2 round bricks entirely. They serve no purpose and add weight. I would also suggest using 3 1x2 technic bricks with cross axle holes (instead of two) to fasten the technic axle that runs through the outer engine part and into the inner engine part - this may mean you'll ned longer axles though. By the way, the ship in ROTS is not a CR90 but a CR70. It is an earlier and slightly shorter variant of the Corellian Corvette - then engine housings are also clearly different ;) Oh, and I'll promise not to use any trans #85941 bricks for my next moc ;)
  16. Hi guys, the 4275 and 4276 hinges are not neccesary, just use normal hinge bricks :) Unfortunately the 3x3 dish does not come in trans-yellow - otherwise I would of course have used that :)
  17. Great review! One comment though: With these large UCS set reviews it would be useful with an in-depth analysis of the model compared to pictures of the source material. The quality of a UCS display piece is to a high degree dependant on how closely it recreates the features, proportions and details of the craft experienced on-screen. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowspeeder Looking at the studio model of the Snowspeeder it is clear, the designer has done his homework - this is an excellent model. However, several areas could be improved upon: - The angles of the shoulders of the craft are much too steep (they were actually much more correct on the 2003 version). - The large side canopy piece is divided into two pieces by a sticker - this should be three pieces - which meant printning two more stickers for the model. This oversight seems a bit lazy. There are a few other, minor issues, but all in all I think the model is great. Pointing out the larger issues would perhaps be more relevant to a UCS collector than some of the standard review features. For example, Instead of Playability, there could be a score for Accuracy when reviewing an UCS set. Just a thought :)
  18. @Sheharan I built mine resting on boxes and in a bed on the side :)
  19. Great improvement over the 2003 version. Better nose. Better cockpit. Better cannons. Better functions. Better grille. A few too many stickers where bricks could have done the job just as well, but that is an easy mod. The "shoulders" will have to receive an overhaul though. Their angles are simply too steep - this is one of the few areas where the 2003 version fares better. Maybe still a few too many studs for my taste, but overall a very, very fine model :)
  20. @Sheharan I'm glad to see someone trying this! I know it will look great! The two points seem fine, but maybe you will need a third line to balance out the weight from the "sword". I would place the third line further back on the head close towards the spine to prevent sagging. Maybe you'll also need to move the back line a few studs further backward, but that is harder to judge. Try it out and please post the results here - and welcome to EB! :)
  21. @ecmo47 I don't think they are necessary (can't find them on my parts list)
  22. Great to see another stand design :) Have you considered transparent liftarms or will it look too messy with black/blue pins in them?
  23. Yes, my hand was forced a bit :) But there are no hard feelings :) Both the instructions maker and myself are busy on other projects, but I knew that we would someday get around to making instructions. However, there was no reason to promise a date for instructions release, when I did not even know which year they would be done :) Regarding my ldd, I wanted everything to be perfect, but as time went on I think it is fine to create instructions out of :) There is no need to apologise - you did tell me beforehand you were working on it and I could have told you my plans :) I was a bit surprised to see it released to the forum though, which makes it a bit harder to motivate the instructions maker - but again, I could have been clearer about my intentions. There are no hard feelings, you have done a great job and I am flattered by all the effort you have put into recreating my work :) I think you should build your version, I am curios how it turns out. Mine is built in two sections whereas your is connected. There are a few other differences but I'd like to see the final result of your approach :) But please beware of the weight of the engines :)
  24. Yeah the 6192 is very rare these day - partly my fault. You can also get them used or in lbg - a bit of colour variation doesn't hurt :) If you build more than one, remember to throw in some variations to set them apart :)
  25. Just checked - I have like seven different version - I keep tweaking and tweaking, mine is around 880, but that should make little difference :)
