Finally Joined Eurobricks! Or: Hello From Canada, Eh?
Welcome to the site. Eurobricks is great, much better then Reddit. I can't stand that site! Bunch of people post the same photos over and over again waiting to get up votes. Makes no sense. Doesn't really work.

PICTORIAL REVIEW: 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty
I know this is an old thread, but kudos on a great review. Fantastic and detailed. What a great ship. All of LEGO's ships are really well done and full of detail. Great job!

[Review] 9461 The Swamp Creature
The minifigs are what sell this set, they are both awesome. I don't care for the rest of it all that much, but I will pick it up eventually for those guys!

[MOC] Star Tours Starspeeder 3000

REVIEW: 6054 Forestmen's Hideout
Nice review, the one thing that I loved about looking at the images of this one is that it made me warp back to when i was around 12 years old and seeing these sets in the stores. Good ol times ;)

REVIEW: 9471 Uruk-Hai Army
Great review. Fantastic images. I have not been blown aways by the LOTR sets yet, but they are growing on me. Nice selection of minifigs in this one.

Motorized M1A2 ABRAMS TANK's Realistic Turret
legotrader replied to DLuders's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingSubmit that on LEGO CUUSOO, i would vote for this set. I would like to see a whole military theme of tanks, choppers, jets. This would be a great start

Prometheus

Opening sealed antique sets - wonderful or painful ?
Well to me this is simple to answer. You already stated that you are not going to sell them even though that may change depending on the sets that you are talking about. If you have no intention on selling them, then to me, open them and enjoy them. That's what they are there for. I love my boxes. I think LEGO has the greatest marketing team in the world. I buy sets sometimes because I love the box design. I know you are trying to keep that feeling of Christmas morning, but to me, just open them and enjoy them. You will never regret it. There are plenty of new sets out to buy and get that feeling all over again.

Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?
I have to agree with this. I know i get hung up in certain themes for a while. Then either a new set comes out from a different theme and all of a sudden I am all about that. I think this is human nature. It happens to me for video games, movies, books, tv shows. Everything is in cycles.

Liquidating BrickLink Store...
Well I know I am late to the party, but I would have paid more for that lot than what was won on eBay. Good deal for that user.

How much is your SW collection worth?
According to Brickpicker.com, my collection is around $17k, $13k of which is Star Wars, so I guess I know which is my favorite theme.

Investing in LEGO Trains
I understand your point, believe me I do. But at this time, I am not sure if even something as solid as Apple is a good thing to invest in. Most of the people have made their money in it at this point. Sure it can split, etc. But in general it's too expensive for most to even buy 1 share. And at $560 a share, how much of a return can the average person make on it. Hopefully one day I can save/earn enough to have fun with both. Right now, I will have fun with LEGO :)

Investing in LEGO Trains
I bought 2 10188 Death Stars. My goal was to do some great MOC space station. 2 years later that still hasn't happened. One I opened 1.5 years ago to experience that set and loved building it. The other one is still sitting in the corner of a closet. It hasn't been retired yet, but one day it will. Unless I finally get that spark of creativity to build that space station, that one will stay sealed. I have been looking through eBay and Bricklink looking for good buys on the trains lately though.

Investing in LEGO Trains
I would just like to share an article on the value of LEGO trains, mostly 9V trains. It's amazing on how much these sets can go for today if you can find one in good condition. http://www.brickpicker.com/index.php/blog/view/lego_trains_an_on_track_investment_or_an_investment_derailment

10179 UCS Falcon Review
It's a shame that the price to obtain one of these beauties is, well, unobtainable :) I still think this is the best, and most detailed set ever created by LEGO. By far the best Star Wars set.

UCS Falcon replica

Review: 7879 Hoth Echo Base
Great review and much on par with my feelings. This was such a huge part of ESB and it should have been given grand attention. I would have loved to have seen this get the UCS treatment and make a big base. I know they just released the Super Star Destroyer, but I would like to see a big base for a scene like this. Something that could match the Death Stars that have come out.
