  1. ah, you were the one that gave me the final solution for my rear suspension problem. I couldn't find the thread otherwise I would have mentioned you as well. thanks a lot again! You have no clue how happy I was seeing your implementation and that it works for me as well. Axle with stop is a good idea, I just didn't think about that one. Will see if a dbg one will fit. Tan is no option. Thats why I used grey gears and old grey parts everywhere. I used plenty of black bushes and black pins with axle end as well just for a better overall look.
  2. its been a long time since I started this project. but finally its finished. It was inspired a lot by https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5793/NEMOOZ/moc-lego-technic-bmw-cafe-racer/#comments Thats why I labeled it MOC MOD. real basis was a beautiful R Nine T custom by clutch motorcycles ( https://www.clutchmotorcycles.com/bmw-r-nine-t/ features: suspension front and rear. working single lever with shaft drive, dual cylinder "boxer like" fake engine. working 2 speed transmission. biggest problem was a working shaft drive with suspension and single lever that is stiff enough that it doesnt bent instead of compressing the suspension. Feel free for all suggestions how to do stuff better
  3. holy grail: not really anything particular. I got 2x 41999 and sold them for profits, same with the enzo, power puller. A new Porsche for < 180€ maybe ;) dream: lego offering parts packs of the small stuff in the main panel colors! (pins, bushes, axles), I didn't have enough of 43093 in black for my current motorcycle project, so I got one of the sets that have plenty on ebay just for those. regrets: not buying the UCS millenium falcon when it was on the shelves and I had the money

food & drink!? I never would have searched there. thanks a lot

Hi all, usually I lurk around only in the technic forum. But by accident I found this totally cute MOC on bricklink: https://moc.bricklink.com/pages/moc/mocitem.page?idmocitem=4653 I figured out all parts but the plant he has in his hand. could anyone please provide me with a part number? Thanks a lot
  6. impressive set, whats the overall length of the rocket fully assembled?
  7. well that historic picture shows it pretty ugly. but in Munich in the "BMW Welt" there is one driving around frequently, you can have a round for your kids in it. And in real its actually quite cute. and I once saw one in the underground garage of the BMW building here parking beside a BMW X6. that was some nice pic ;)
  8. nice one, and instantly identifies itself as a BMW. I am still struggling with a BMW r nine t custom moc, mainly with the kardan mounted to one side only (don't know the english word for "einarmschwinge") So my question, is that suspension functional? From the pictures I am quite sure it isn't. But interesting part you used for the kardan link at the wheel. that might solve some of connection problems
  9. gears together is a very good idea as well, I have somewhere in my old parts box http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4143 a stack of those might look good, too.
  10. thanks a lot for the input, guys. The bucket is to small I fear, since the connecting piece will be http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32015 the timing gear looks interesting 4869 looks perfect, but will be to long I fear, and I don't know how to connect the wide part ;) currently I am struggling with the tank, the new technic ship made the panels aviable in dark blue again. but there are no 9L liftarms in dark blue (but 3L) So I will try to remodel the tank with parts that are aviable in dark blue, to match the look of the real one better as with plain blue. Found some interesting bionicle pieces that might help http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=41671 http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=41671
  11. Hi all... being inspired again by the new BMW technic motorcycle, I plan to make a "modded MOC" of a custom version of the BMW r nine t this is one of my favrouite custom versions: and I found a very nice BMW cafe racer MOC on rebrickable, that I haven't seen here yet. that resembles it partially pretty good already http://rebrickable.com/mocs/NEMOOZ/moc-lego-technic-bmw-cafe-racer and I got my hand on a 8420, which has unique parts for the brake discs and a very nice shock absorber which I plan to use. But one part gives me a headache. the air intake filters. The ones in the custom BMW look really good, but I haven't found a part that I could use for them yet, there is hopefully one in the studded world, but I honestly don't know where to look for
  12. very clever use of those panels for bodywork... and the best, its blue!
  13. some tractor at my granpas farm when I was still a kid (when I was still to small to reach down to the pedals) aaaaand a helicopter! ;) I had once a 1 hour flight with a training one with dual rudders, after 15 mins the instructor asked if I used to play video games, since that helps a lot to get the feeling for the joystick control and the delay in response of the rotors. Then he put his hands away from the controls and basically let me fly around for half an hour on my own. If that damn pilot license wouldn't be THAT expensive, I would have changed my job after that day ;)
  14. I had a brand new gt3 in lava orange in front of me on a german autobahn, while driving an i8 myself. great color, incredible engine sound when he changed down 2 gears after the car in front of him gave way. (thumbs up for the i8, he barely got away from me, and there are 140 HP between ;) ) back to topic, will be an great display model in the same color as my orange 69 dodge. but the price :( shop.lego.com shows 349€ for me, and I am in germany?!
  15. Hello together, in the past I was only around in the technic forums. But I am planning a new project, non technic this time. I work for BMW since 1,5 years now, and from my office window I have a good look at the BMW headquarter building in munich, called "4 Zylinder". So I thought how would it look like if I had a lego version of it on my office desk. I searched around the interwebs, and found 3 different approaches from other people. And I will borrow some of their ideas. The round parts will be 4x4 round plates part 60474. the round cylinders on the roof will be 2x2, so I have space between them for the BMW logo. the small "things" on the roof of the 4 cylinders wont be centered as in the real world, since its not possible at that scale. Now I am looking for some part for the triangle shaped construction between the bigger and smaller cylinders on the roof. If it would be small cylinder including triangle shaped thing even better. And since its my first MOC in the studded world, I have no idea where to look. I would be really glad for any ideas.
  16. working for BMW for about 1 year now I wanted something in Lego to put on my office table. Currently planning on the headquarter (the building called "4cylinder", which was nicely made by 2 different people I think) But a car in lego technic would be a lot cooler. But lacking the exterior design skills myself I was hopeing for someone someday. now THIS comes. I eagerly await your LDD file and will definately rebuild it (maybe less motorized) but it looks amazing. Very good job. the front of a BMW is hard to capture cause of the "doppelniere" but you did it very very well. This just made it on the top of my "next lego project" list as soon as you get the LDD file out. I even own 4 of the rim covers which were planned to go on the ferrari 458 whenever I get to build it)
  17. sorry for digging out this old thread @ Jeroen Ottens: what functions provides your design? Having seen the design of Sheepo for his kamov I would like to compare these 2
  18. keep it up blakbird. the helicopter with flex system (8856) was the biggest set I had when I was a child, and I loved it. Since I restarted building technic I wanted to build some cool helicopter, but I do lack the skills until now. Ultimate goal would have been one with counter rotating, so I kept saving links to threads with all kind of helicopter MOCs. Now sheepo comes with full instructions of a fully functional one. Although I consider the kamov itself "not so pretty", your animations of how that thing works convinced me even more that I have to build that thing (and give it another "body" if my building skills ever improve) I always show other people cool stuff build out of lego technic. Mostly reactions are "yeah cool, you can do a lot in Lego", but when showing this and then your animations, with differently colored moving parts and everything shown very detailed everyone was "WOW thats really complex stuff" and as a side note, flying a real helicopter is easier than I thought, I had the possibility to fly an hour in one made for training with all controls doubled, and an instructor on the other seat And after 10 mins he placed his hands on his knees and said "you seem to have a feeling for it" Probably playing countless hours of "Comanche" in my youth helped a little ;)
  19. woot! I love that car. thats the thing I always wanted to build since I got my unimog with all the orange panels and a RC buggy set... I skipped it since I am not that good with bodyworks, and those angles are hard to make... can't wait to see it finished...
  20. I plan on building the predator in the original colors... and I would like to change the rear wing... the original one seems a little to small (my opinion,) but I also don't like the big one that looks like a jetplane wing that I have seen here on the forum. The one in black here from bmollema looks really good, but is not possible in white... maybe it still looks good if I use black rims. anyways, are there other panel options in white that might fit (I am not so familliar with non technic parts)? and @bmollema, whats the part number of that part you used at the outed end of your version? thanks a lot
  21. any suggestions? in other models that are usually flex axles, but with the panel design of the chassis thats kinda hard... i thought it doesnt look to bad, and with the panels the whole chassis looks more ... complete currently thinking about inserting 2 black curved panels in the hood at the positions of the rally stripes, to make the hood a little curved, too. But at the moment I got no clue how to get them together ;) or maybe I will let the fake engine from the nitro intimidator stick out of the hood.
  22. @ Jim: the forum gave me an error message that I am not allowed to post pics, now I edited the postig and it worked, strange.... @tibivi: thanks for the link, you had a nice idea to do the back part of the roof, I will try to adopt it ;) @anton: the hood doesnt need to be openable, the RC unites batteries are changed from the bottom. and under it is only the steering unit from the RC unit, no space to make a fake engine I still need to implement a hole for the antenna in the roof, but skipped that part until I am sure of the final position of the roof. and the hood of the real challenger is pretty flat, too. and its hard to make thos flat curves, in the proper colors ;) But I might try to change it...
  23. well, im lurking around here for quite a while after coming back from my dark ages a few years ago. So its time to do a post with my first real MOC. So far I build only official sets, and did an RC MOD to the 8070 (which was the first Technic set since I was a child) I aquired plenty sets meanwhile (8070, 8110, 8043, 9396, 8275 and several small stuff) and managed to get my hand on a working 8475 (the RC Race Buggy). And I really wanted to do something with the RC unit. First plan was to do a KTM Xbow. but I figured the bodywork would be far above my current skills. then I saw the ford gtho from Doc_brown and really liked how he captured the bodywork with those panels. And I always liked the lines of those old musclecars. So I decided to build something similar, with the RC Unit and buggy motors as chassis, using the steering output as well. First part was wheel measurement and selection, which came down to the wheels of the 8285 to be the most fitting. Then I cannabalized all the panels I had from 8043 and 9396 to try around with the bodyworks... and after some bricklink orders I can show the first pics. Hardest part was to find a working and more or less good looking way to attach the roof. So far I am quite satisfied with the front and the front attachment of the roof... the back attachment of the roof needs much improvement, and yet I have no idea how to do the trunk and rear end ;) So I would really like hints for improvement ;) (yes the pics are bad quality, just made with my iphone since my camera seems broken and new did not yet arrive) hmm, why am I not allowed to post Pictures?
  24. yeah, the BLE/bluetooth smart worries me at the moment as well. when I checked for devices I read "samsung galaxy series" and my wife owns a s3mini (I only have an old iphone 3GS) so I thought everything ok, I borrow her phone. But now it seems that wont work. even my pretty new kindle fire HDX has bluetooth 4.0 listed, but doesn't support BLE because its based on Android 4.2.2 So I will get one of the first sbricks, but at the moment I have no device to use it with... :cry3: I totally understand why they used BLE, and fingerpoint should go towards google, who seemed to refuse to deliver the drivers in android for quite some time but the whole situation is pretty bad, since I guess plenty of backers will have similar problems. At least there should be some hint on the kickstarter page then, or shipped with the sbrick that its not their fault. Because the package of the S3mini clearly displays "bluetooth smart ready", which is definately not true.
