Technique: Pipes and Drums
A marching band drummer with a big drum on his belly would actually make a pretty awesome CMF. It wouldn't really be hard for LEGO to do either since they'd just have to make a piece that hangs around the neck (not unlike what JackJonespaw made above, but as a solid piece). The only issue with it is that it most likely wouldn't be able to stand up without being put on some studs.

LDD 4.2.5 Bugs
The 32187 Middle Ring (or Technic Driving Ring Extension as it is called on BL) doesn't connect to anything it ought to connect to. In reality you can snap it to a regular stud or put it on a pin. Best I've been able to do in LDD is put a cross-axle through it to maneuver it into place, but that doesn't always work either.

Rumors and speculation: Haunted House Modular
The Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris is in this same style, as well.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
LEGO should absolutely do The Invisible Man for the CMF. It really wouldn't be all that complicated to do either. I made these in LDD: All he'd really need is a pair of sunglasses printed on the head and you'd be all set (with new suit printing too, of course). If they chose to do him with white hands/head to illustrate the bandages, they could add a bit of printing for that too along with the sunglasses, though personally I think it'd be far better if they made him with a transparent head and transparent hands since then you'd really get that he's supposed to be the invisible man (rather than a burn victim or a weird mummy). He wouldn't really need any accessories either (the CMF Frankenstein Monster didn't come with any).

850423 LEGO Minifigure Display w/ Space Figure set
Those bastardized not-really-Classic Space astronauts make me sad every time I see them.
-
850449 LEGO® Minifigure Accessory Pack
Pretty cute set. A bit too overpriced (especially since you'll rarely see a discount if it's a LEGO shop exclusive) but I like the thought behind it. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing a few more of these grouped minifigure sets.

Monster Fighters 2012
I can't imagine there'll be a tv-series for this. Assuming it's just a one-wave theme, what is there to make a tv-series of? A movie a la the one for Atlantis sounds far more likely.

REVIEW: 30165 Hawkeye with Equipment
This particular tie-in most likely happened because the comic book features Disney characters and Marvel is now owned by Disney. So it was basically a bit of cross-promotion by Disney, with the help of LEGO. The same comic book has featured a Jack Sparrow polybag in the past, so there's definitely a Disney connection to why the Hawkeye polybag showed up with this particular comic. I've got my fingers crossed that the Thor polybag shows up with it when The Avengers comes out on DVD/Blu-ray.

Future LotR and Hobbit sets
I'm not going to get into a debate over this, I've said what I wanted to say. I don't think it'd hurt anyone if there were two separate threads, but apparently that's just me. Gotta save a few bytes on the server, I guess.

Future LotR and Hobbit sets
All I'm saying is that there are a lot of people who aren't avid book readers who, seeing as The Hobbit has yet to be released in movie form, don't know anything about The Hobbit and don't want the upcoming movies to be spoiled. Even if they are from the same author and share characters, that's a huge difference from The Lord of the Rings, which has existed in movie form for ten years now. I mean, seriously.. I'm asking for there to be two threads instead of one. I'm not asking for there to be two separate subforums. I'm not asking for the Berlin Wall here. It's one extra thread, and it allows many people (like myself) to keep up with rumours and discussion about future LOTR sets while knowing no one's going to spoil The Hobbit in that thread. It's really not an unreasonable request.

Monster Fighters 2012
GRograll's got a nice, big picture of it in his Brickshelf gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=503330

Future LotR and Hobbit sets
Why merge the separate Hobbit thread with the LOTR one? As was discussed in the LOTR 2012 thread, there should be a separate Hobbit thread where spoilers can be freely discussed without the risk of ruining the upcoming movies for people (like myself) who haven't read The Hobbit and are waiting to see the movies. Most people are familiar with LOTR at this point either through the books or the movies, but far fewer are as familiar with The Hobbit since the film adaptations haven't been released yet. You really can't treat LOTR and The Hobbit as the same thing, not until December 2013 when the second Hobbit movie is out. I'm going to have to avoid this thread from now on because I don't want to end up accidentally reading spoilers about The Hobbit.

[Review] 9462 The Mummy
Gotta wonder if the crude printing on the mummy has to do with the glow-in-the-dark feature. He looks like someone drew with a Sharpie on him compared to the older mummies.

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
Seems like 2012 is a great year for LEGO laboratories/dungeons. You've got the Helicarrier Breakout, this Doc Ock laboratory, the one in the Monster Fighters set.. The Batcave could kind of count too, and wasn't there even a lab in the Friends theme?!

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Funny that people were just mentioning a golfer, cause that's what I came here to suggest. I was looking at the bagpiper and thought, it'd be really cool with an old-timey plaid-wearing golfer, maybe with that same kind of beret as the bagpiper. Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking that! Certainly doesn't feel like it's unrealistic for there to be one either, although he might be more contemporary (and boring) a la the tennis player.

Rumors and speculation: Haunted House Modular
Yeah, I don't see this belonging with the other modular buildings. I hope you can detach floors in a modular fashion similar to that, though.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2012
Re: The Hobbit As someone who hasn't read The Hobbit and is greatly looking forward to seeing the films unspoiled I would prefer it if this thread wasn't littered with spoilers for The Hobbit. Couldn't there be a "Rumor and Speculation about The Hobbit sets" thread started instead, where spoilers could be freely discussed?

2012 City sets
Ooh, nice! I'm much more of a firefighter guy than a police guy so I'll definitely pick this one up even though the price is silly. Definitely digging the brick-bricks, and nice to be getting the new wheelbarrow. I'm also pretty sure those are some yellow skis attached to one of the brick walls!

REVIEW: 7346 Seaside House
Great-looking set! Not a big fan of the third build, but the first two are really lovely. Perfect timing on the release too, just as summer is coming around. Really love that brick-built palmtree too. A bit surprised they included the surfboard though, since these sets are all about brick-built stuff rather than "pre-fab". Not that I think you could make a decent brick-built surfboard.

2012 City sets
I think LEGO is terrific at making 6-wide vehicles but their current style of smaller 4-wide vehicles is downright awful. Tires sticking out wide from the body, rarely any doors, just weird proportions all around.. A real sorry sight to behold, especially considering how gorgeous their 4-wide vehicles from back in the day were/are.

Monster Fighters 2012
We obviously don't know much of anything for a fact about the Haunted House yet, but to me it looks like something monster-themed LEGO is offering to older teenagers/adults on the side of the Monster Fighters theme (which is just for the kids ). Hey GRogall, any news on those ghost polybags yet?!

Criteria for opening a LEGO store
What's truly bizarre to me is that LEGO are opening up stores all over the place in the U.S. as if they're Starbucks, but don't seem to give a crap about opening any stores in the major European cities. Is there really no market for any official LEGO stores to exist in cities like Paris (population 12 million + millions of tourists visiting each year)? I would never expect LEGO stores to pop up in malls all over the place here in Europe, but why not at least open some flagship stores in the most major cities? Is having FOUR stores in Massachusetts (a comparatively small state) really more profitable than having four stores in Paris, Milan, Amsterdam and Stockholm?

LOTR & The Hobbit 2012
Don't you mean "Chrome Gollum.. Chrome Gollum...."

Monster Fighters 2012
That's not a misprint, just stupidity by LEGO. They made a new Batman cowl but didn't make a new head that fits it.

Review: 9473 The Mines of Moria
The 33 stickers are definitely a major buzzkill, especially since they seem to mostly be clear stickers. Even more annoying is the fact that they're using a wood-like sticker on a 1x4 brown tile instead of using the new printed 1x4 brown tile that appears in other (CHEAPER!) sets. Surely that door isn't so distinct that they just had to use a different wood pattern than the one on the printed piece. Just stupid, really. They could've easily dropped a few others too (from the pillars and such) by using the new brick brick instead. Sure, it wouldn't look the exact same but it would've look just as good. They could've easily cut the amount of stickers in half in this set with a bit of creative building. Definitely going to hold off on this set until I can see what it looks like without (most of) the stickers.
