Modular Meltdown
Well... Technically they are on display in the guest bedroom. Ta Da!!!! Back together at last. Only took a few days, and now our fingers are a little sore. Let's take a quick look at the piece count that was in a nice pile CC 2056 MS 1248 GG 2352 FB 2231 GE 2182 ---------------- Total = 10069 minus, approximately, maybe 200 or so for the small portion of MS that I don't have up, that leaves me with 9869 smashed modular pieces. In the end, we had no broken pieces, and were missing a grand total of 10 pieces! NOT TO BAD for a pile of 9869!!!

Modular Meltdown
So... I think the root of the problem was the crappy walls in our apartment, should have figured some more support first. I haven't noticed any broken pieces yet, and yes it will be kinda fun to re-build them... Started by sorting with some bowls, each building that I know, and a few "random" bowls. I think the Grand Emporium had the least amount of damage, as you can see

Modular Meltdown
Ever wonder what ALL 5 modular buildings smashed into a pile looks like???? I finally talked my fiancee into letting me put up some shelves for display.... Just as I was snapping in the Grand Emporium on the end of the street,,,, The shelf gave way

MOC: 1893 Block
I love the outside of this building. Very realistic to A LOT of run-down old buildings you see in small town, downtown areas. EXCELLENT!

Looking for CC style POP moc
YES! Thanks guys! I think I may pick up an alamut set... I don't care for POP or Castle... but I'm inspired by these MOCS to try my own modular CC style MOC!

Looking for CC style POP moc
Rick - I think MAYBE the second one. I remeber the person stating in their thread that they had nabbed the set at 40% off, possibly at Barnes and Noble.

Looking for CC style POP moc
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.... Recently I saw a Cafe Corner style MOC, that someone built using mostly pieces from the Battle of Alamut POP set. I've searched high and low, classic-town.net, these forums and brickshelf. Any help finding this one would be appreciated!

Review: 8404 Public Transport
Thanks for the review! This set is great, and was SO anticipaed!!! I haven't built everything yet, just the coach bus and the tram. The tram is tottaly awesome. Only thing I don't like about the coach bus is the door on the drivers side. Most busses have only one door, where the driver and passengers enter. I'm thinking of throwing a window in the drivers door slot and seeing how it looks

REVIEW: 3221 City Truck
Just built my truck! I think the coolest detail is the mud-flaps on the trailer!!! WAY COOL! Great semi representation... Altho, I think they should have included a "switch" for a shifter. I mean... these giant semi's are NOT automatics! (also the same case in the truck in 7747 wind turbine transport)

Your Modular Collection 28 Days Later
Awesome Thread Brickster! Well, my Cafe Corner Lasted the longest. I had it on my computer desk, so I looked at it everyday. I occasionaly changed the minfig positions, added a firetruck to the scene etc.. CC was just awesome. Now that there are 5 out... I've since torn down CC, and I have built GG and Market Street. I will soon be re-building CC and building FB for the first time. I kinda miss the days, when there was only CC and it was SO AWESOME! Now, they sit on a spare dresser, and don't get as much attention as when CC sat on my CPU desk

The Admirable Admiral
Svelte - awesome. Love all the details! I've seen a lot your mocs in the town forum (where I exist) but ever since the announcment of the 10210, I've been lurking around the pirates forums Great job!

City 2010
Ahhh yes, I love reading all this speculation. I sure hope that truck stop is NOT the fan choice. It seems that the Toy Fair is slated for Valentine's weekend... Maybe we will see some pics of these new sets then!?!?

REVIEW: 10210 Imperial Flagship
LOL!!!! Svelte - Amazing review. I must say I've been laughing at Svelte's comment "Buy one. Sell your grandma!" all day long! LOL This set is truly awesome. Although it is giant in comparison to Brickbeard's bounty (which I have, but haven't built yet ) I must say I thought this set was going to be a bit larger! I was kind of expecting 2 floors below the main deck. Anywho - still very awesome! Maybe I'll take Svelte's advice, and "Buy one. Sell my Grandma" LOL

REVIEW: 7207 Fire Boat
INDEXED OK everyone... Sorry for the first botched review/posting/fickr links. This is my first time posting pics and a review, and I was just so excited to bring y'all these first images!!! SO... for the SECOND time around... Here's my review of the new 2010 Fire Boat 7207. NAME: Fire Boat THEME: Lego City YEAR: 2010 PIECE COUNT: 306 MINFIGS: 4 PRICE: $49.99 (USA) Here's the front of the box. I'm excited to see 4 minfigs! Next is the back box art. We have one firefighter yelling "HEY" "HEY" your boat is on fire? "HEY" I'm gonna hose you down??? Next we have the contents of the box, with bag one emptied and minfigs built. Also see the dreaded sticker sheet Here's a pic of the hull. The same hull from the coast guard line, but red. Nothing too exciting here. Here's a teaser... a random instruction page. Look and build, not set out like other instructions. Woo hoo! Here's the small boat. There is a small blue technic piece that the switch attatches too for steering. Pretty neat that it can swivel around! After some building, this is what it looks like after bag 1. A nifty little control room with water cups for all! Also some fairly large pieces (2x10 red bricks) Also in the back there is a place to hang the tank, just in case these fire peeps have to actually get on to a burning boat A bed in the front cabin, and a better look inside the control room. Seriously they must be thirsty! more building And now... the wheelhouse! The door is a nice little arch, usually we see this piece on cars as a fender! Next we have the fire jets And another piece which is used several times in the boat, once for a water jet, and another time for the hydrolics on the lift And now.... the moment we've all been waiting for.... the final product... the lift another angle Hose'em down! Zzzzzzz..... nap time The complete set My thoughts: I don't know exactly what I was expecting here. But the boat is almost a repeat of the coast guard 7739. There also seemed to be a lot of large pieces. I do really like the boom on the back! It twirls around quite nicely and can reach high places! Overall I think this set is fun, and a good addition to your lego city port. Summary Playability: 7/10 (as much as you can push a ship around) Design 5/10 (same style as coast guard 7739) Price 6/10 (kinda pricey for such large pieces, but... 4 minfigs!) Overall 7/10

How do I motorise the Wind turbine in 7747
7747 has been my favorite set of 09! I've been waiting and waiting for someone to post specifics on exactly HOW they used PF to get 7747 going. Lots of suggestions, and we know that the M motor seems to be the solution. BUT I'd really like to see some pics on how others did it! Still waiting
