  1. I agree with you that the length of the tail works - but have you thought about maybe re-working the very end? I think what some people might be looking for is a gradual decrease in width carried all the way through to the tip - something akin to an alligator's tail. You could, of course, go in another direction and add some flair to the end of the tail, making it almost like another means of attack for the monster. If you, as planned, focus on rounding out the "body" of the beast, the added bulk will conform nicely with the tail you already have in place in terms of width. Good luck - fun scene!

The cart is definitely cute - but I'm finding myself preoccupied with those chained dogs. What's going on there? Is there a bomb in the mail cart? A kilo of C? Provocative choice, well done.
  3. 1. Are you male or female? Male 2. How old are you? Thirty-one. 3. How old were you when you got your first Lego set and what was it? Maybe three or four years old. First Legos were hand-me-down toys from an older cousin, first real set I remember getting was the Space monorail when I was six or seven, though I'm sure there must have been something before that. 4. What is your favourite theme (past or present) and why? The Forestmen (from Castle Lego, late 80s-early 90s) 5. Why do you like Lego? I think the one thing that made Lego special for me back was that I could build whatever it was on the cover of the box, but I could always break it down (in pieces, or even entirely) and build something that worked better for what I wanted to do. That was freeing as a child, and I think that's a lot of why I ended up as an AFOL. You can be as brief or detailed as you like. If any of you have children that could answer the questions it would help vary the results from different age groups. Thanks in advance.

Nice! This looks so much like the Starbucks across the street from my office (right down to the yellow color on the second-story bricks) that I'm starting to wonder if you're one of my coworkers.
  5. As tempting as it is to simply echo the recommendation of using "a big honking rocket" as the town's center -- and DrNightmare is right, everyone does love rockets -- can I ask how large of a town you're thinking of creating? If the town is going to be of a substantial size, developing a park (complete with fountains, flowers, statues, etc.) could be a really nice way to draw the viewer's eyes right to the center of town. For ideas, I'd recommend you do a simple internet search for the re-creation of the Beijing Olympics that a group in Hong Kong (I think it was Hong Kong, I could be mis-remembering) put together. In addition to the stadiums and arenas, they created a lovely park with a fun little fountain and lots of flowers -- something like that might be a nice anchor to your town. If you're going for something on a smaller scale, maybe a traffic circle with a statue or fountain in the middle would suit your purposes. If you're thinking of doing more of a wintry scene, maybe an ice skating rink would work.
  6. Fantastic - the pendulous red Christmas balls on her breastplate are a hilariously fun finishing touch.
  7. You could try the buying/selling forums on this very site -- and I've always found BrickLink to be absolutely invaluable, not only for finding something specific, but for being able to tell me whether what I'm looking for even exists in a certain color. Good luck!

Aside from the show-stopping spiral staircase, there are some really nice details here to round out the scene and provide a lot of color. Great work!
  9. A really impressive group of entries! Hard to select a small number of favorites out of them all... Votes: 4. Dix - 1 5. SilentMode - 1 8. Cava - 1 13. Cecilie - 1 18. Yatkuu - 1
