This is where a Slizer-related topic would go, right? I hope so. I made something of a tribute to the old line, in a BZP blog entry. It's basically a comparison between the Slizer series and BIONICLE's 2009 story arc. I thought it would be original to format it like a press release. Well, the new sets are definitely an improvement for this year. But I dunno... they just don't scream "BIONICLE" like the old sets. The hand pieces are neat, but kinda hard to get used to. Although I really like how they used tan for the stone sets. It's epic win. And those imposing pillars in the back give the environment a nice atmosphere. I think I'm gonna like the new storyline.

I'm glad some nice CGI pics of the Mistika finally came along. I'm still not a big fan of the sets, but as usual, the pictures make them look far better.

Well, there is degree of similarity. You can find connections with any names you like, but some are much too obvious to be labeled as coincidences, IMO. Considering the Barraki were meant to resemble sea creatures and all of their names have a striking resemblance to the names of the animals they're meant to represent, it's hard for me to believe Kalmah sounds like Calamari by chance. :-|
