Preview of my incoming most challenging MOC
craigey replied to piterx's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingPersonally I quite like it. The only thing is some people may not be that creative. I know that if I take a dremel or other multi tool to any of my lego - the result would just look rubbish. If it was something you were going to sell with the instructions - I think it would be a great addition.

Vampire GT
craigey replied to Kronos's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI'd prefer to do the black one, but the total cost for parts is a couple of hundred pounds (when I checked on bricklink), so it might have to wait for a bit.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
added a vote for this (Think it'd really be in demand, but quite some way to go before it gets the required 1k votes): http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/576

Star Trek anyone?
Suprised there isn't much more Start Trek stuff scaled up to sizes like the large millenium Falcon. Even more suprised the Death Star II hasn't been turned into a Borg sphere! (just don't think there's the right colour green in my lego collection)!

Also new.
Hi, I'm a UK ex-Technics builder who has finally rediscovered my endearment to lego. I've been away from my Technics lego far too long & am finally getting back into it with the purchase of the 8110 & the 8043 Excavator sets.

Are LEGO 2011 sets' values increasing?
I think the overall value is increasing. I remember buying my 8862 set in the early 90's for about the same price as the unimog now 8110. The unimog has motors/pneumatics & is larger with a bigger parts count.

8110 - Unimog - MODs and Improvements
craigey replied to tripletschiee's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThanks guys. Perhaps some reverse engineering is in order. I've already had a good look through rebrickable & am intending on using the guide by 'Jurgen Krooshoop' to modify the Excavator. I also have an idea about using a subframe for the 3 way tilt on the unimog, so that it isn't necessary to remove pins manually to change the direction of the tilt. (I noticed the pins after looking up some of the pics). At some point in the future I'm planning to build crowkiller's Vampire GT. just got to order parts, but am looking to make it RC, so may need to adjust the height / depth. Anyway I'll let you all get back to the unimog posts.

8110 - Unimog - MODs and Improvements
craigey replied to tripletschiee's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI've been away from my Technics lego far too long & am finally getting back into it with the purchase of the 8110 & the 8043 Excavator sets. There are some great MOC's / mods in this thread. I hope this doesn't sound too pushy or rude or anything, but I wish more people had the time & inclination to post instructions for their modifications. I know that peoples time is precious, but it would be a great way to learn & expand the pool of engineering knowledge if people would be more willing to share these great ideas. I hope to be able to contribute my efforts at some point.
