42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance
1gor replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingBefore judgement, I would rather wait for additional (side, rear...) images. Functionality is suppose the same as on McLaren ... If it would be cheaper yhen it would be great panel/parts pack. Hope it is at least reasonable successor of silver champion model

2024 Technic Sets Discussion
1gor replied to Ngoc Nguyen's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling42172 (18+) - 3893 pcs is probably successor of Ferrari Daytona... 42175 “Cargo. Volvo FMX and electric excavator EC230" | 2274 pcs. - that sounds interesting combination. Orange FMX and yellow EC230?

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
1gor replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingDon't get me wrong, but from TLC point of view if they decide to make licensed backhoe; there is Catepillar who makes backhoe loaders...(despite that I prefer JCB)

Future Set Wishes and Speculation
1gor replied to SheepEater's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI'm affraid that CLAAS license is gone for good; or to say to CADA... I would certainly welcome 120mm tractor tires (with appropriate yellow rims)

[MOC]Falconluan's technic tractor MOC series: RC Case Magnum Rowtrac
1gor replied to falconluan's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling@falconluan instead perpendicilar connector and connector #1 on front axle to hold steering hub, it would be sturdier to use those: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=60484#T=S&C=85&O={"color":85,"iconly":0} and https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=33299#T=C

[MOC] JCB Fastrac 3185 & Oehler ZDK 180 trailer
1gor replied to eric trax's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingFastrac looks very nice and clean. Somehow I have expected more functionalities, but I saw it few years ago as prototype chassis... Anyway I like the looks. When Dominator will be released then I can finally finish my 1:18 Fastrac 8330. Kind regards

Truck models (scale 1-17 and 1-13)
1gor replied to Dennis Bosman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThere are lots of off highway trucks (like Arocs) using 385/65R22.5 tires that are 390mm wide. Highway trucks tend more and more using low profile tires like 315/60R22.5...but 385s are IMHM more suited with classic trucks Dennis is making

Truck models (scale 1-17 and 1-13)
1gor replied to Dennis Bosman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAfter long time great 81mm tires for trucks, but if you take a closer look to tire tread it is perfect for front end loaders or mobile cranes or offroad dump trucks... I have 4 of them and I'll probably use them on front end loader

[MOC][WIP] Claas Cougar 1400
Perhaps you could use PF rechargible battery box and (lets say) PF Large motor? It is just a guess; when I got rechargible battery box (and with upcoming 94.3 tires) I have solved my 7 years old dilemma.
-
[MOC][WIP] Claas Cougar 1400
Ideal would be 1 studs lower so tou can make bonnet to hide battery box
-
[MOC][WIP] Claas Cougar 1400
Then I'm affraid that looking on side image and based on size of choosen tires, you should move battery box some 3 studs toward axle. You can use this image in sariels scaler based on tire size to make as correct proportions as possible.

[MOC][WIP] Claas Cougar 1400
At least something usefull from Audi rims... I also like more compact models, but plan to keep all of them in the same scale; sometimes smaller models are much stiffer; only wonder where you will hide this huge battery box.
-
[MOC][WIP] Claas Cougar 1400
Actually it is self-propelled mower... @Jundis I suppose doesn't have enough space for drive? Real one has huge ammount of hydraulic functions, so let's see what you plan to implement... I'm affraid thay for placing big battery box and make it stiff enough you would have to use 107 x 44 tires and make 1:17 scale model to fit @eric trax machinery lineup

Truck models (scale 1-17 and 1-13)
1gor replied to Dennis Bosman's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingNow imagine "modernisation" using currently available parts (including frames, panels and Audi tires instead of 24 x 43 tires)...how extraordinary they would be.

[MOC]Falconluan's technic tractor MOC series: RC Case Magnum Rowtrac
1gor replied to falconluan's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThat is similar approach that I had, only when I started, there were no frames etc to give me desired stiffness. First time I had idea to make John Deere 8 series trac with independent suspension which was utophia at that time (before narrow differential and before narrow universal joints...). I'm glad if I can help, so you want repeat my mistakes (broken parts etc...)

1gor replied to LucasMP's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThat Rat Rod is cool indeed; turntable as differential is very original.
