  1. First of all I'm sorry to post my comment so late, but I've waited more that year and half for following answer from Mercedes Truck local distributor (because I'm no customer I'm not important...): Real Arocs 3245 has almost always tires 385/65R22,5 which are 1066mm in overall diameter, so 62,4 x 17 is (you may guess) and real truck is some 2500mm wide in scale 1:17 it is 15cm. 32003 tires are good to represent 445/65r22,5 tire which is 1168mm in outer / overall diameter...so despite fact that I would like that 32003 tires returned it is not properly scaled for 1:17 model, but for 1:16 model. sorry again to bump into relatively old review. speaking of review we all know that Jim is making excelent reviews with great photos...so no need to comment that skils
  2. Cool modifications are those lime wheels, only bodywork is too colorful for my taste, but all and all like real desert buggy. Very impressive
  3. I thought that we are back in 1988 when i red topic's name...
  4. I see. I was hoping that LEGO made something that I've missed. Anyway nice and detailed model (my car models will need more years to come to find time for them...)
  5. Despite that I'm not a fan of eastern products, I must admit it is model with great details and look really really good. Speaking of details - did I saw correctly - black rims?
  6. sorry that I did not find time to read this tread and reply so late, but really cool black model. Hope to see it with black rims
  7. If you allow me to give a suggestion, use Bricksafe. Well better to install headlights to make car road legal than helmet lights
  8. no criticism, but one question - is that a headlight on IMG_0650?
  9. now it works fine, so we can see DRS working...but due to lacking of necessary parts you can not make more realistic and accurate suspension that should represent typical F1 suspension, but all and all nice C-model
  10. ...well (If I did not misread this tread) new F1 for 2017 has wider tires, so perhaps silver champion wheels/tire combo would be useful?
  11. It would be best to make a Bricksafe account so you can easy integrated image in your post...
  12. On the first sight for my it looks like Race Of Champions buggy but without panels and suspension...
  13. Very nice small set with characteristic functions for telehandler...this was my first set bought this year and parts included were very nice surprise specially "Arocs grar rack" and new worm gear and this connector which I needed for small Portal Axle hub... My criticism on steering is that wheels are not in line when you are "driving" in straight line (but I'm glad that LEGO designers decided to use technic cam part because I need few of them). btw. short and nice review with all important info about this set
  14. First of all I want to apologize if i disrupt current discussion about parts recoloring, but I have a feeling that this tread is the right one for asking this question: does anyone know how does tumbler tire work with portal axle hub like in this image Question which I still have after Jim's You Tube video: is tumbler tire symmetrical or asymmetrical? I was looking for this Info because of this one my older project is on the Ice...and those tires are not cheap (yet)... Thanks in advance
  15. Wow, that is what sports car is about. Sporty feeling on the first place, light, agile and reasonable powerfull. I'm looking forward to see your 550 Spyder (I assume 94.3 - Unimog tires will be a solution). Kind regards neighbour and thanks again for great photos
  16. Exactly, that is a point of open mind for differences like this. (It is just an example for this)
  17. Hi Tamas, first of all great trip review and I'm very sorry that I've managed to congratulate you so late. I have just one question - did you have a closeup photo of (my favorite Little bastard) Porsche 550 Spyder? Thank you!
  18. Sorry :-( Few years ago (before set 8110) I wanted to make U4000 but did not had parts for torque tube, despite having 8265 set with two mentioned parts for fuel tank... the rest is history...and Unimog implement carrier is on the way, but since you managed to dig some old memmories, probably next model will be Unimog U5023 or U4023 perhaps with crane...
  19. Victor, this is nice solution, but could this part be helpful (at least outer side is very similar shape)?
  20. but, your tractor is playable and with panels it looks more smooth than all other non LEGO models, and preparation for dualscis just perfect. On the other hand my model is just for display because tracks are sliding and not rolling if surface is not like carpet...Thank you for Your recognition of my work
  21. for off-roads you can combine tire 68.7 x 34 with truck 62.4 x 20 wheel / tire combination eith positive offset and better steering pivot
  22. First of all congratulation for making such a decision since CASE IH Steiger / Quadtrac is one of my favorite tractors, as you can see here (this is an old version before new differentials and panels...). Model is well proportioned and with panels it looks so smooth. If only there are bigger spocket wheels for tracked versions...Lets hope (at least) for different size tractor tires in near future. Love usage of wheels. I can only say thumbs Up really nice model in 1:20 scale (if I my say) I think Technic figure is a bit to big (or it represent basketball player )
  23. Perhaps red differential in set 42070 is a bit different and fits better with red clutch gear Front axle has some similarities, that is true, but I think I'll redesign mine to make 21 studs width (someday...)
