CaseIH quad track Steiger type tractor
1gor replied to Dafgek81's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingPerhaps my model can be inspiration or any kind of use (only problem it is not motorized) enjoy the link http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=365319

42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC
I also hope that you are wrong and LEGO makes 81,6 and 139mm tires so we tractor builders can make vareus tractor models from 100 to 500hp tractors.

Technic 2016 Discussion and Speculation
just one addition in terms of possible future licensing. when you watch this video at approximately 3:40 you can see some known bricks...

42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC
yes, because driving rings have some empty steering knob movement before tires actually would turn...so only way is to make it with linkage. I can hardly wait to see original solution it looks like cooperation with Fred Flintstone well tradition is something that you can not buy or copy

42056 - Porsche Speculation
...pure black is cool with small details like breaks and air intakes in some hot color like yellow or red...think about combining parts with other MOCs one day in the future...or to use porsche parts for another car...

42056 - Porsche Speculation
I also like black color to use this part http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=18944&idColor=36#T=C&C=36 in black for other mocs. Very nice new wheels and hope that LEGO will start to make wheels with positive offset to enable smaller turning cycle

42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC
No it does not use them - just take a closer look from wheel center and upper liftarm that are used on axle...Just hope that LEGO made smaller tires with this agriculture pattern btw your Xerion is very nice
-
42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC
I hope that this will not be general tractor forum, but Fendt and Deere models that are competition to xerion use front independent suspension and smaller models use suspension like trucks (jcb factrac) or like lego unimog... btw. wheels are the same like on volvo loader 42030, but there will be disappointment if lego would not produce 81,6 and 94,8 tires with the same tread pattern like on Xerion to enamle us moc builders to make other tractors that have non equal wheels/tires.

Technic 2016 Discussion and Speculation
Most likely not - Xerion versions - 4 equal wheels; Axion or smaller models have front smaller wheels and rear bigger wheels. Only other vehicle hat has 4 wheels the same size is Claas cougar - a self-propelled mower

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI know the feeling. It happened to me several times. Sometimes my bank made transfer to wrong account, so money was on some temporary account for months...so I've decided to buy set for part when they are on discount; like on Saturday 50€ for 42000 set... but good news; I'm 90% sure that the car that will be template for my model is 1971 g-force cuda... http://www.hotrod.com/features/shop-tours/0604phr-1971-plymouth-barracuda-builders/ but with just two headlights... ...looking forward to see progress of your masterpiece

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYes is an answer to both questions... but I'll take step by step, if you have some idea wether conrad or similar electronic shops have something suitable for 8448 rims and with slightly bigger outer diameter for pair of rear tire that would be probably the first step to do...

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI have one inline-3 engine but I'm probably too dumb to create transverse manually controller transmission, so I need 5 pneumatic cilinders and one switch to modify (have 12 pneumatic cylinders and 3 light bluish gray switches - studded). I'll go for proper big block V8, but I have to create all other parts, chassis, suspension etc based on LPE V8 model and final step to contact one good friend of mine to modify before mentioned parts. Model will have front independent suspension and rear dana-6 type suspension, but I'll see -perhaps I'll use Unimog wheels.. small cylinders are expensive and I have only 4 of them, and for me it is a blasphemy to make muscle car model with anything other that V8

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingso far I think it is quite OK. Front part is getting shape, but I'll wait for final result - it is very hard to predict final outcome, but it looks very promising. Rear multilink suspension looks very good. If it matters I've put your flicker as start page on new speed dial dialog on my opera browser. My current concern is something else - how to put LPE V8 in my cuda with 8448 wheels. so far just small calculations an planing based on one image on A4 paper format...

1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingCooooooooooooooooooooool. Very nice solution - If I may suggest something - install bigger differential based on turntable (at least my Cuda will have it - one day)

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingyes this could be good solution for front suspension...now to find out how to stop time, or to make in a teamwork spirit - transmit work and responsibility to someone else to gain some time for LEGO

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling3-speed automatic like original LPE in red like real HEMI engine (14 studs tall) but no 700+hp front suspension http://www.magnumforce.com/magnumforce_tubular_kmember.htm rear suspension http://www.magnumforce.com/magnumstore/shop/item.aspx?itemid=19 rear wheel drive door and hood opening mechanisms seats similar to 8448 set (hope) fully studless probably in black - so it would be a sick fish turned black as I already said wheels are my biggest concern. It would be great to build it (and to finish GT500) and compare it to GT500 Little update on the project: Yesterday I measured out the approximate size of my model by building a frame and set out positions for the wheels. The model is 85 studs long, 32 wide. Wheel positions are 15 studs from the car front to the center of the front wheels, 51 studs wheel base, 19 studs from rear wheels center to the back :) its gonna be huge! It would be huge but great - in this case big is beautiful ;-)

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHi the project that is tempting me is to make model with V8 LPE and automatic transmission like on GT500 is this one http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/113-0501-1970-plymouth-barracuda/ but I need wheels with some 95mm diameter with skinny sidewall (I mean low profile) one of my ongoing project has to use Ackermann steering is wf-trac 8X8, but like several 4 projects I'm waiting for time to make prototypes to see what parts I need to finish them...

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingYou're right, I was just pointing from my experience when there was no Unimog tire available. but to be honest silver champion tire/wheel combo is interesting for muscle cars from 60s because of metallic silver color

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingexactly - this is my biggest concern when building models - correct tire/wheel proportions - that's why I've ended to (try to) build muscle car with tires from silver champion... Unimog wheel/tire combo is also great for mini before 2001 when started new era with Bmw mini r50. We'll see what can be done when time allows that

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingbut for bigger car you'll need bigger wheels

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI understand, but for my model it is to week, perhaps suspension parts from snowmobile will be useful. I did not know that Mustang had 4wd?! thanks anyway

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI agree that is no modification. My problem with 500 GT was how to make front unequal A-arms (upper is smaller than lower) and to make them work with shock absorber from 8420 motorbike

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingfor that kind of suspension I think best solution is to copy what Ales (nicjasno.com) made with his 2005 mustang (only without cutting or any kind of modifying parts)

[WIP] Ford Shelby GT-LPE Edition
1gor replied to MSc Shobaki's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingautomatic with 6 gears sounds nice, but CVT would be interesting for my tractors. I had one prototype that I did not publish due to lack of lime liftarms to complete wftrac 8 x 8, but it is another story which shock absorber you plan to use?
