  1. 6speed+reverse manual transmission - it is possible with some 120mm tires and flex axle system, but I could be wrong...
  2. thanks 4 your compliment, studless is what I was thinking about (using http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=64179 and/or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=64178 or even http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=64782) but currently time is my biggest enemy so few years ago I put 67 Mustang into bag to prevent dust collections on it. your decision about future build of V-8 LPE is proper thinking, at least I'll do the same thing (somewhere in time). Major problem for me to use LPE in-line 3 is how to make transverse transmission. looking forward to see your MOC
  3. Perhaps 8448 wheels are more suitable for BMW with i3 from design point of view...but if this one could help: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=365696 (my version long time ago because I also have only 3 cylinder LPE...)
  4. that is very nice effort, but V8 lpe would be right choice imho nice use of 8448 wheels (hope now is in correct place)
  5. or this combo http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32003 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32004a or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32004b
  6. Today i manage to separate with two butter knives ant it is very simple and easy to do it without any damage. Tried with screwdriver before but I made very small damage on portal axle housing. Why to separate - to make more narrow wheels track
  7. But it seems like 2042 arocs for agriculture as transport wehicle has portal axles http://media.emercedesbenz.com.s3.amazonaws.com/magazine/wp-content/uploads/1-unimog-13C1169_12-980x653.jpg
  8. I thought that 42042 is a crawler crane??!!
  9. It would be very nice if it hat LPE 4 cylinder engine...
  10. Hi, I understand what you mean, but (if I'm not mistaken) all heavy machinery uses kind of planetary hub reduction like this http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Planetary-Reductor-Assembly-Z0104304200-For-Hub_850649191.html but when LEGO uses the same principle like you I can not complain only repect it
  11. just one comment - I do not remember that claas uses portal axles on any harvester, so I would prefer that you use those parts for front axle http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92909 and http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=11950
  12. yes, but when he uses custom part housing for differential it could be good to use small portal axle hubs...
  13. You red my mind, if you ask me there could be just one driven axle, but new suspension parts are just what we need since there are so many great truck bulders who need only propper suspension to reach perfection with their MOCs (and I can use them for my MOCs; some ammount pf selfishness is in all of us)
  14. If It helps, my plan was to buy Volvo Loader for Parts which happened in august this year. so far I did not took it apart. I always buy sets for parts, but this one remains completed. My recommendation is to buy it, really great for display, one of few sets that IMHO is perfect
  15. It is really cool. Probably the greatest hotrod build from LEGO IMHO. Specially rims from 41999 set give this retro touch. (with 94.3 at the rear and no wings and roof structure could be like rattrod) Great model representing US (cult) car history from Paul as usual.
  16. For me it is great - new green beam 1 x 11, new green 3 x 11 panel, new green http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=42003 (this part in green is something that I need for several years so I hope that LEGO keeps it) and what I've learned so far - when you do not like it do not build it, you'll have a lots of parts. You can always modify it to look like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_919_Hybrid ...but they all are a bit unusual since they are prototypes ;-)
  17. Despite that I'm no fan of pink colors, I admit that this is finally proper portal axle solution. Really good work Michael
  18. Only that 4x4 Volvo models have bigger rear tires on same wheel; please notice front 23,5R25 and rear 29,5R25. IT would be nice that (in near future) LEGO creates bigger tire that fits racing wheel medium
  19. exactly this part in black. Jim, Ted etc I apologize for using image on reply but only text without image requires to much head-scratching for some readers...
  20. There are not only on 42030 set but light bluish gray on 70810 set, but they are meant to be used with LEGO (plastic-like) tires
  21. It's OK with me whatever you make. There is no need to argue about esthetic, beauty was always in the eye of beholder anyway. I
  22. No problem. Just one suggestion red dishes with black wheel
  23. HI, I know that this is only way, but I was hoping that there is some info about some new part, but we will see what is doable. This latest solution is a kind of compromise and could be temporary solution, but have to wait until weekend to try it. thanks
  24. Hi images are here If you have any additional questions, I'll answer
