  1. Paul, I believe that new suspension arms will be used with new small hubs (both the same as on snowmobile). Second due to problems with big turning cycle with CV joints I think it would be only rear wheel drive something like on extreme cruiser 8081. Why no hubs - it looks disproportional to have 5 studs high axle and only 10,5 studs tire diameter (81.6 X 38R) as you can see on your "New Suspension ideas using the new 2014 parts" BS folder. Regards Igor
  2. Regarding powerpuller tires, well they look great but are not worth it due to the extreme forces involved in making them move and not break whatever model they are in. Better to stick to smaller or at least lighter tires. exactly, they are to wide for steering and can only be properly used on non steered axles or on articulated vehicles like front loader or articulated tractors etc... you got the picture. Only way to make them useful (for my creations) is to make powepullers taller ind thinner...Not to mention that they are quite heavy and require another rim, so I do not think that we will ever see them again, perhaps some tire 102 X 38 R with buggy pattern to fit wheel racing medium, but not anything else unfortunately for front loader and pickup truck you know much more than me but I assume that dozer will be probably size of 42006
  3. unfortunately not. when you take calculation based on scales of pinholes on bent liftarm that is used as rear mudguard and wheel/tire combo, you will see that it is wheel racing small with Tire 81,6 X 38 R Baloon. But if Front loader will look like one that jorgeopesi made that would be great.
  4. you can see on Brickshelf images of new suspension parts at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=536914 Brickshelf gallery is by user TheScooterGuy, not mine. Anyway great suspension parts for buggies or trophy truck vehicles...
  5. sorry. I use server os and did not see images on my browser when quoting. Next time I'll just copy/paste text
  6. Hope I'm not to late 42021 B model is a snow bike similar to this http://www.timbersle...nowbikeinfo.htm I agree cargo plane is one must have set, pity that 9396 has typical helicopter rotors that would be ugly on VTOL aircraft made from cargo plane.
  7. just one simple question - is it possible that at the four corners of dog bone instead pin holes are axle holes? arrows are popinting towards corners that I'm thinking about.
  8. best way is to use Wheel/Tire combination from 42000 set. Do not neglect turning radius with Wheel/Tire combination
  9. Thank you, that is what I thought. Portal Axle Hub by Effe with additional modifications is only solution for me to fit inside wheel futuristic.
  10. do you have image with portal axle hub? I'm looking for 2 years how to put portal axle hub inside wheel to make proper mbtrac, but so far nothing that is strong enough like portal axle housing. .
  11. Hi because I can not help myself with this one I just want to point on one masterpiece by Paul Pictures say more that 1000 words, I can only say one thing - perfect. see it yourself http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=436147
  12. OK, honestly I like pneumatics more and agree mostly with Maaboo35's wish; Reissue of 8455. But with 4 equal size tires with pattern like Unimog tire and 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel steering and 4 cylinder engine
  13. but I can not see word "bad" in it.
  14. just one question Anio, I can not find where I wrote exactly like this "LEGO showed us a bad way of thinking with 42008 set. " as you quoted me? Could you please show me that?
  15. I meant LEGO showed us NOT a bad way of thinking with 42008 set. I apologize for my mistake when typing... I do not have this set despite my green models, but I think it is a nice effort, Like Jim, Jed and Ted said Let's continue the LA vs Pneumatics discussion in this old topic: I've just want to say that anything LEGO does it would be useful - at least we'll get huge number of parts and what my wife always said to me If you do not like set, at least you'll have several hundred additional parts, and from my expirience there is never enough LEGO Technic parts. but again a successor for powerpuller tires would be very nice I honestly apologize for misunderstanding. Regards
  16. Mobi, do not get me wrong, I have nothing against LA, just saying my opinion about possibilities for backhoe flagship. Only complain for LA is that without electromotors they are a bit slow in operation but have higher level of precision than pneumatics. My honest opinion is that LEGO showed us a way of thinking with 42008 set. Regards Igor
  17. for that there is not enough parts beside bigger pneumatics; bucket and wheel/tire combo. If you want to make 1:12 model of backhoe you need 4 tires with 120mm diameter (because such big model should have all wheel drive) and bucket width 195mm. I agree It would be great model, but I do not believe that LEGO will make so much new parts; specially big ones due to max. part number per year limitation. I would be very happy if them make tire 81,6 X 30 R that fits wheel racing small but with pattern like Unimog tires. Idea is great.
  18. It should look like this, but it seems that my browser has one higher level of freedom that it should have... I could not agree with you more, but there is a constant urge to improve things. Currently I managed to make portal axle with 15 studs track width and with lime green container as wheel (same thing like on my deere 7230R, but with lime green container 9x9x1). My only problem is portal axle housing because Lego creation does not allow gears to be placed inside of wheel where it belongs. for lime parts - I think I have enough of them including dark green 1x9 bent liftarms for mudguards. as user Error404 said it will be awsome to see it in lime green color link for deere 7230R http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5967533 links for parts that are used on front wheel http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=54120 http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=32197 http://www.bricklink...colorID=34&in=A I hope to make some advanced prototypes by end of year, but I can not promise that, espacially if I want that mbtrac fits to scale of my other tractors. Regards Igor
  19. Hi Balrog, since you're from Germany I suggest you to look at www.trac-technik.de and ask Hartmut; he is walking encyclopedia for MBTrac. My MBTrac is not finished because portal axes are not stiff enough (see the link http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=491658). The reason why I reply you is to give you only two suggestions (everything else is really good; proportions, square look typical for era when MBTrac was developed) - portal axhses and - lime color Keep with good work Regards Igor
  20. Hi everyone at 16th October 2013 I bought 4200 and had a pleasure to gain new 6 holes rims. It would be great when light bluish gray would be available so you can make 1:12 scale truck with rear wheel housing from 42000 set to make rear double wheel solution. I hope this idea will be usable to someone. If you want I can make pictures of it and public them on EB Regards Igor
  21. Because I wan not that lucky, I've decided to make my own - only color scheme is compatible with 2008 and above ind for me it is the best pnaumatic set ever done http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=497487
  22. ...and if possible in this dimensions (in mm) to enable tractors to fit Unimog U400 scale: - 170 x 70 R - 160 x 60 R - 140 x 50 R - 134 x 50 R
  23. It is smaller. Tires are the same like on 8109set and it is about 15 studs wide does it help?
  24. Now there is one another model - just first version with a things to improve..like 2 studs shorter tank (that hides transmission), and new green beams for front chassis part from new 42008 (if they will not be dark green) Here is active link http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=520658 model is more realistic that 8270R enjoy Igor
