  1. thanks David, helpful as usual. Now I know that outer "cylinder" for pin is actually 0,9mm long and not 1mm. Everything else my werner scale has measured correctly. when parts will be finished in nanoCAD software and printed with 3d printer, I'll post a link on forum. Kind regards Igor
  2. hi everyone, for lase several month I was "constructing" some LEGO compatible parts for suspension. Now I have one question - does anyone know precise dimensions for pin and axle holes that LEGO uses? Thanks in advance Igor
  3. Exactly my point of view. It is like you bought yourself a car and put different headlights to it it is still the same make/model... Even LEGO developers cut pieces and glue them together when they construct new parts... Igor
  4. Hi one example to confirm David's way of thinking. All my models have some "modifications" which you can see when looking tires that I use, but it is still LEGO example http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=513015 To make big gears I had to take a part this turntable http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=48452cx1, but did not brake anything, so it can be put together. Like all builders I have broken parts, I have one more question - Is it less valuable MOC when I glue those parts together to make something like new part, or is it better to throw broken parts in trash? From my point of view it is not builders guilt that LEGO is not using wider palette of colors on Technic parts, or new parts are "too universal"... Kind regards Igor
  5. Now something else. since you probably know everything necessary for 9398 set, here is one link that could be nice addition to all posts here enjoy http://technic.lego.com/en-US/BuildingInstructions/9393%20Group.aspx#9398 Group Igor
  6. Hi, since you're interested in further steps of my project, here is a link http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=505294 this link will be active within hours or maximum few days from now There are only 4 parts missing to make this tractor complete. The rest will be like this for the moment. Enjoy Igor
  7. Alasdair, probably tomorrow you can see complete chassis and transmission under this link http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=504438 Next step will be engine, than fuel tank + steps, then toolbox, than Cab and hood Enyoj Igor
  8. I use this oportunity to inform all of you who are interested in MOC that folder has been renamed to New Holland TG 285. Here is a link. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=476732 the major reason is that TG 285 has 24F x 6R Transmission (standard 18x4 and additional 6x2 Creeper) which is smaller and shorter than 18X4. So now Supersteer with steering angle of 65 degrees can be implemented as New Holland Unique feature. Kind regards Igor
  9. Timmy, my first goal is to make some tractors to the particular class (in this case 300HP class), and then tzo make some attachments that can be used on all modeels from class they represent. Lately I think about making kind oc corn trailer for deere 8270R because of lot of green parts that can not be used in other way Igor
  10. Timmy here you can see how it is done http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=498084 at home I have 4 additional power puller tires, but no additional 8X 4750 parts good luck Igor for terraglide I use ball joint from Unimog, but latelly I think about making heavy duty universal joint from other technic parts like those one: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4185, http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=48496... ...and making rear part 2 studs more narrow than this prototype has. I think you got the picture Igor
  11. Hi, since some of you like to see how my new project goes on, here is a link with first prototype http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=502045 description will follow, because there will be some modifications in near future enjoy Igor
  12. Hi Martin, here you can see current supersteer solution http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=502046 the rest will follow, but do not know how soon Enjoy Igor
  13. The only one green part that I could not find (my information is that LEGO does not produce it in green color) is this http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=41677 Enjoy Igor Hi Paul, to be honest I like your cars too, but I have some news for all of you - front supersteer axle for my new project is finished. This prioject is new holland t8030 with samer tire dimensions like this one. Kind regards Igor
  14. here is a gallery of finished model http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=412852 enjoy at following weekend Igor
  15. Eric, several years ago I've painted this one http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=22969 in Yellow for earlier version of this model http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=412852. Last summer Ive decided to clean dow this yellow color and was surprized - I did not clean yellow but also metalic silver, so now wheel is something like old light gray. I have used ordinary multipurpose spray for metal, plastic, wood etc. Important thing is that you clean for any kind of dirt, grease... and to spray few thin layers on temperature of about 20 degrees Celsius without any wind, and DO NOT spray and dry on places where sunlight is falling. Hope that any of my experience could be useful Igor
  16. Tomorrow new link will be active with even simpler solution without expensive and rare axles and axle nuts and tire is bigger and more narrow which is closer to real thing Here is a link http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=498084 Igor
  17. David, actually descritiob should be like this tire overall diameter - 1930mm tire overall width - 710mm wheel overall diameter - 1080mm LEGO solution tire overall diameter - 114.0mm tire overall width - 53mm wheel overall diameter - 64mm In order to achieve 114mm overall diameter from Powerpuller tire, you have to put one 94,8 X 44R Baloon tire inside it. Important thing is that you put Dish 10 x 10 Inverted at both sides of tire between powerpuller abd 94,8 X 44R Baloon tire and then press them using dish 8 x 8, axle 10 treaded and axle nuts Parts list: 1 part with catalogItem number 32298 1 part with catalogItem number 54120 2 parts with catalogItem number 50990 2 parts with catalogItem number 3961 1 part with catalogItem number 3737b 2 parts with catalogItem number 4698 for any commants, questions please contact me at iipsa@inet.hr Today, I made small updates to text file further wheel/tire solutions will be uploaded on my brickshelf folder together with progress on my new models on which I work at the moment. Only one thing - model on photos is 100%LEGO without any painting at all Lego parts 41677 and 64179 ind green and 64179 in black will solve my most common problems dealing with industrial models. enjoy Igor
  18. HI, for several years I try to make 4 cylinder, something like 6430, but there are no green parts to make proper front axle. Other things like transmission, engine, hood,cab... are no problem. Regards Igor
  19. Hi everyone, It is a peasant surprise that you're still follow my ideas. To help you with tire solutions, you can follow this link and browse a little bit. Under brickshelf member iipsa search for folder tires I saw that you are interested to make tires as big as possible - so there is a idea to use 2 of those under catalogITem on bricklink search for part number 4750 and this gear under catalogITem on bricklink search for part number 3649 between them within powerpuller tire to achieve overall diameter of 124mm the reason that make this things complicate is that I've lost a account data for previous, so I use new one... Good luck Igor
