Canada/Ontario/GTA - LEGOformers at Lasting Toys
Chris Roach AKA Boyzwiththemosttoyz has created a massive number of Transformer style creations in LEGO. These range from pretty small creations to some very detailed re-creations of Transformers every kid will recognize. These creations actually transform from vehicle to robot, like actual Transformer toys. Chris will be at Lasting Toys on November 19th to display some of his creations and teach kids some techniques so they can create their own. This will be one of the few ways you can actually put a face to a builder who generally never shows himself in the pictures of his creations. Chris can be found on the internet at the following places: - Boyzwiththemosttoyz, on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/boyzwiththemosttoyz - on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/65877137@N02/ - on MOCPages http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/23530) We will be reserving time slots between 1pm and 4:30pm to ensure everyone can get a chance to talk with Chris, see how things are put together, and do a little building too. This event with Chris will also kick off our Toys for Tots campaign for 2011. Please bring an unwrapped, new toy for a less fortunate child. [Can/Ontario] Lasting Toys Grand Reopening October 30th
Well we are the only surviving LEGO only store in the GTA. We are in an industrial area/with large warehouse of ONLY LEGO, but are not an outlet/discount place. We just have a superb selection usually covering, the last 2-3, even more sometimes, years of LEGO stock. Star Wars covers a 8' tall by 12' or 16' wide I think!! Kids come in to see our store and the jaws just hit the floor, we have probably 30 sets of shelving 8' tall 3-4' wide with NOTHING BUT LEGO!

[Can/Ontario] Lasting Toys Grand Reopening October 30th
Just how far away are you? I know around Christmas time, once stocks are low, we usually still have stock, and last year had people coming from Windsor, North Bay, pretty hefty distances for LEGO, but still within Ontario at least. Seeing the kids with Greg Hyland is a total hoot - the questions they ask about the figs/artwork are wild sometimes.

REVIEW: 8683 Minifig series 1
For sure available in Canada, I know we are trying to bring in as much stock as I can get my hands on for this item. But I know we'll be doing a 'no touchy/no feely' policy to ensure everyone has a fair crack at the items. But I am having to import some stock from Europe to get enough to keep them around for a while. First batch is supposed to ship to us for display Jun 1st timeframe.

Agents Future
Well at least for North America there is nothing in the catalogs for new stuff in Agents in 2010, so sounds like it had it's quick run .

Will U.S. LEGO stores ship to Canada?
Well Bricks and Blocks is actually gone, the Toy Building Zone is run by the mall itself/has no relationship as far as I know with 'Toy Boys Inc' which ran the Bricks & Blocks outlets. BUT I will say you can come visit us in Mississauga and we have 3-4 toy stores left right now, and another batch comin on Wed 9th. As far as I know the only place in Canada to get any righ tnow. Once shop@home sold out, I figured I'd get as many in as I could since canadians have no other option really. Given the problem of sourcing these in bulk/driving to USA, they are priced at 89.95, but hopefully way less than going to eBay I hope!!

Jack Stone?
A very good transition theme between DUPLO and LEGO. So the kids could leave the DUPLO name behind, but because the pieces were larger/studier, they could still play harder with it like the DUPLO, without rebuilding every 5 seconds. Honestly a serious loss to the LEGO transition period. Funky yes, but it was LEGO compatible sized studs, so perfect to build with later. AND I know kids with less dexterity/problems, really like that stuff, since it's sturdier. PS: We still have 3-4 of the sets, in our physical store, and will for a while probably, we bough heavy!!

City 2010
Actually 7239 has been around even longer than 2005, I have boxes dated 2004, which means it's gotta be one of the longer running things, except maybe for base plates and brick tools. Rarerly these days does something last longer than 1-2 years.

Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Sure would be nice if we got some Pirate Advent calendars, even the '2' limit like last year was fine.

Review: 8258 Crane Truck
MShiels replied to starstreak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAnyone from Canada will have to hunt around to find that one. it's not listed in our dealer catalog/price sheets at all. So Shop@home for sure, and then maybe one exclusive retailer. First time in a while they have made it hard to find a core TECHNIC set, will piss alot of people off for sure!!

Vintage Minifig Collection Volume 3
Anywhere to get these in USA? shop@home doesn't have them, help!!!!

Technic sets from 2009
MShiels replied to legomilk's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAnd just a warning for Canada at least, 8258 the larger truck won't be available at most retailers. Seems to be a shop@home exclusive probably. NICE SET!

Indy 4 Exclusive set
I just hope this is not a TRU Japan only exclusive. Japan has quite a few exclusives that are not available outside that country, especially when it comes to anything airplane related, JAL's promotional jet for example.

starwars chess?
How about LEGO releases a building set, that makes an interesting scene, with lots of figs, AND JUST HAPPENS to have an alternative picture/build that is a chess set?? That might work, but I doubt they would go to that much effort.

I got scammed!
And it might not be the seller who is the rip off artist I have bough sealed 7127s from a LEGO store in USA, had them shipped to NY, then picked them up on a trip to Buffalo, opened them and found NO MINIFIGS, they were very carefully reglued back. Heck the second one contained just a bunch of crap they scraped together to return to the LEGO store. So just be careful since it could be an honest buyer, who bought/resold a ripped off box possibly.

Looking for Lego Promo Signs and Displays
Well they are avialable, but very hard to find, I get some for our store, but we use them heavily on our signage etc. We do list some of our extra cloth banners 3'x6' beautiful cloth banners. Heck I just listed pictures for 26 more of them I think. Across all sorts of themes, including pirates. HE HE BUT DUPLO PIRATES!!

Do yellow flippers excist?
Lots of sellers have 2536 on bricklink, from 2-5$ I think, will probably cost more to post than it's worth.
-
Harry Potter army builder set
Wish I could read that auction/bid on it, those sets are very rare to find now, they were around alot/quite easy to find a few years back. Basically a set of all the figs for HP at that point in time. Lots of yellow heads!!! If anyone can read that/help me on bidding I might be interested!!

Promo Club
And heck if anyone runs across alot of promos available for a decent price, I am always looking for 20-50 of most promo sets, and we can work some sort of swap for other stuff you are looking for possibly. We can add to our promo list 1831 trucks with Maersk Sealand stickers (sorry my single 'maersk' only IS MINE ALL MINE!) colour line trucks heck I think we have a batch of the 'milk' trucks too, sorry just pulling a total blank on the number/name of them right now, down in the 1xxx series though. Heck I should really check all our stock now to see what we have left, in the next month or so we should be finalized redoing our inventory for the store, so should have a good idea what I can offer here for people. If we have enough stock/too much of some, we'll make some good deals. And I just realized there is a whole series of promo sets they packaged with the software games at one point a Train hand cart a biker on trike a chess king Which are all small sets, but actually pretty cool items. I'll keep digging through and updating with lists (hopefully with numbers say in the next week or so) then the front page can be updated as needed. PERSONALLY 2147 is the sweetest set/most amount of LEGO I have seen stuffed in a small box, very little air space. Vs stuff now that is 1/2 air!!

Promo Club
Just to really increase the number of promos, USUALLY LEGO has only a single release of a set but 4032 has had 12+ different sets of stickers releases, so when you ask for 4032 you need to probably also indicate which country/stickers you want. Some are VERY VERY RARE, others very common (appearing on eBay all the time). Personally I collect these and usually buy alot of them for our physical store/bricklink store, so I can check our stock/prices and see if I can make up some decent stock, but alot of these were bought back at high USD/CAD exchange, which is not almost par so our costs are kinda high, but we do have probably 10+ airline promos. But I am sure we can find some good deals/prices to offer. newest to oldest that I think we have stock on 2064 - soon but only a few and they are not cheap 30-40 USD it seems 4032 1100 2928 4778 7212 7214 2769 2531 - heli with load 2147 - tiny plan with 2 vehicles

Wanting 3x Santa Fe Cars Set 2 (#10022)
Just to give you an idea, I had priced out buying the parts in bulk to convert 10025s to 10022s so I could bundle them with our stock of 10025s, but it became 20-30 USD quickly for each conversion kit, but that was a few months ago, could be up/down from that price.

List of 2008 sets (January)
"Impulse" is how LEGO labels stuff for the dealer catalog's that is designed to be put near cash registers, lines up in the store etc. Probably a series of polybags on displays, or small boxes in gravity feeds/floor stands etc. BUT it looks like another good start to a year.
-
Good places to purchase LEGO Technic sets
Well you can always hit our store in Mississauga, 2410 Dunwin Drive, Unit 5, we have a good selection of the last 2-3 years of TECHNIC out on the shelves, and more not on display. You can email us at Sales@LastingToys.Com and we can tell you what we have/prices etc. TECHNIC is something I noticed getting a bit scarce at stores the last year or so, especially for the larger sets.

Shop at home sets from 2007
All the USA based LEGO Brand Stores should have this set available for March 10th, 139.99 USD, so grab while they are available, not sure how much more stock is rolling in, but the stores I buzzed had a fair number.
