I believe it is because of inflation in Europe, and also higher demand. Hope that helps. You can always buy on ebay and amazon.

I just bought the new battle pack. It comes with 2 rebels, 1 stormtrooper, 1 scout trooper, 1 speeder bike, and 1 tree. I will buy many more for the moc I am building. Each cost about $13.
