Unfortunately, I couldn't discover a way to brickbuild such a specific piece, so I just ordered one from Bricklink. Spent nearly €10,- on it too. I actually copied the ones in set 75883 and swapped out the greys, blacks and greens for blues, whites and reds. The reason they're not breaking in half is because they are strengthened by this piece. For extra detail, I ordered custom stickers for on the curved slopes at the front of both vehicles.

On Lowlug, the Dutch LEGO User Groep I'm a member of, someone organized a competition called 'Revamp a set'. The goal was this: Take a set during, before or after your childhood and recreate this set with modern building techniques and up-to-date parts. I ultimately chose set 6381 Motor Speedway from 1987, since I had this set when I was a child and I thought it was a good fit to revamp. When LEGO brought set 75979 on the market, I immediately thought that other birds could also be build using the same crank-based mechanism. I ultimately decided to build a parrot, since most parts were available in the required colors. I only needed to modify the head and the stand on which this animal rests. Adding a batterybox and motor (thanks to JK Brickworks for showing me how to motorize it), I ensured that, whenever I get the chance to bring this MOC to events, the parrot could flap its wings all day. Thanks for the compliments. The way I built the water was actually a money saving necessity. As trans-light blue 1x4 bricks without tubes (part nr 3066) were too expensive and too scarce to get, I had to order about 200 1x2 plates to put the water together. I'm glad you like it as such.

Thank you for the honor, Mister Phes. It's very much appreciated. I haven't read any books about frog magic, so I don't really know. Though I imagine the Frog King to be wanting a Frog Queen by his side, so I guess that's what may or may not happen.

The crown can be found in set 70824 Introducing Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi, 70820 The LEGO Movie 2 Movie Maker, 70838 Queen Watevra's 'So-Not-Evil' Space Palace, Queen Watevra's Build Whatever Box! and some sort of Polish magazine. The cloak is from some old Belville sets, in particular set 5812 King and 5808 The Enchanted Palace. I hope this helps.

With the introduction of Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi in the LEGO Movie 2 sets, LEGO produced a nice new part; a pearl gold crown. At first, I didn't think too much of it. Or at least, that was until I came across Jason Pyett's Magic Circle technique. Thanks to a bit of inspiration from the Efteling (a Dutch theme park which is all about fairytales), I immediately thought of a lillypad with a frog king on top of it. And with Jason's circle technique, I could perfectly execute my plans. I immediately began building at the end of April/beginning of May and after about 2 months, His Amphibic Highness is sitting quietly between the cattails. I hope you find him as majestic as I do. In 2017, when LEGO presented the world with set 70922 Joker Manor, almost the entire AFOL community was crazy about the new coastertracks in this set. Finally, people could build the craziest rides for their theme parks. As I didn't see any other applications for these parts, I didn't dwell on them for long. Until images of 75889 Ferrari Ultimate Garage leaked and I got to thinking: if these rails can be used to make a finishline, can you also build other bow-like things with them? Could be a fantastic MOC if done right. So I ordered a tan baseplate, 4 railcurves, 3 roadtiles and a lot of dark tan slopes in different sizes and I got to building. What ultimately led to this MOC. That snake mold originates from the Ninjago Hands of Time theme, of which there's a couple of sets including them.
