  1. Buy the fb. You don't want to pay even more next year. Price is not that bad. The day you buy the cafe corner you realize that fb wasn't expensive :)
  2. The excavators' design will stand for a long time I guess, got me out of my dark age two years ago. The design of the 8868 has never been very sophisticated. I think too 8421 will be less worth next years. The new crane is beautiful! Fits perfect with sets like 8043, 8069, 8265.
  3. I love all those yellow machines. The only one I could not have my hand on yet is that 8455. Whatever you do, buy this small 5761 wheel loader to enjoy how cool it is in real life and what you can do with only 50 pieces, and it will make your technic collection look tall.
  4. the first six weeks are the toughest. After that you get used to it an maybe can even sleep long nights again!
  5. we do have already the 8264 dump truck (yes a hauler, not really big one). That one fits the excavator. I analysed 35 years of technic. Blue sets don`t inspire that much. I am pretty sure blue doesn`t fit for construction theme, I tried to do some blue on the excavator. However if you want a blue set, they should change the box. Or at least the background of the box. (where the sales start for most people) You really need a native blue object. Probably combined with white. The lego-blue isn`t a perfect color imho. I only have 8052 and 8273. For looks not the most exiting sets in my collection. 8461 F1 car is not technic but looks nice on my screen but haven`t seen it in real life.
  6. Why not a new test car, showing what hybrid means.
  7. Next view months 8110 will be your only option, since the crawler is not availble yet. 8110 is a good platform to add any machine you can imagine. 9398 Seems to have good RC features. Will those new motors make that much of a difference? I doubt, but hope they do. There are rock crawlers on youtube doing spectacular climbing with the current motors.
  8. With a manual pump pnumatics are a lot faster, but hard to control. LA are more accurate and can be driven by a motor. 8110 pneumatics are driven by a motor which drives a little pump. Just search on youtube for the 8258, 8043, 8110, 8455 and 8459. And you will see 5 different concepts. 8043 got me out of my dark ages last year. Good start. See lego as an investment, that makes it easier to spent your money ;-)
  9. because. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/13519#FeedbackTab
  10. Mr. Mahjqa has rebuild his Tachikoma to a very nice new model, with very nice colours! I would like to have it on my shelf next year. vote: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/17553 According to lego this should fit their guidelines!
  11. the 8043 does have a lot more powerfunctions: 3 more m-motors 2 infrared receivers and two remote controlers. Those are expensive parts 10-20 dollar each.
  12. You will buy your unimog, but just wait for a while. You willl find new money at a certain moment. Since november I build about 50 sets and this unimog was by far the hardest to build. And it has no Actual B-model. Have you thought about second hand? Like the 8069 there are a lot of interesting set with about 500-1000 pieces. Those can be build in a view hours 2-6 hours maybe. a lot of those sets are a lot cheaper then the collector sets. If I had to spend your money for you, I would buy you 4-5 smaller sets . The fun of technic is that almost every set can do something else. Note that system lego builds a lot faster then technic pieces. I am sure you finish a taj mahal faster then the unimog.
  13. Few people already build this kind of Bucket wheel excavators http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGtAeOzZGsQ
  14. About that ninjago crap, It is (imo) exactly the same "fight" crap as He Man and G.I.Joe. I bought my 6 year old nephew twice a technic set, But if you want to see a real happy face It has to be ninjago. For him it is not the building but to rotate minifigs with weapons. It is perfect branded by TLG. 2013 woud be a nice year to start UCS Technic. To start with a brilliant 7000 pieces transformer. In blue ofcourse ;-) I believe a technic set should be the biggest set. Yes yes, here we go: The new supercar (with 35 years of technic car techniques) transforms to a flying robot or a plane. Or the future space shuttle? The bugatti EB110 was very natural blue, how would that Vampire GT look in blue?
