  1. Seems many people have cooled on Brickwest Studios. Lets be honest, nobody is going to buy it for the film production builds and the lack of minifigs is a huge disappointment when does this round begin anyway?
  2. Your use of "tone-deaf" is a little bit quizzical, if you mean responsive to demand, Infinity Saga sets were not exactly flying off the shelves, judging by the level of discounting. Also there were LEGO Marvel sets long before the MCU. A sample size of 1 is infinitely more probative than a sample size of zero.
  3. We are discussing a hypothetical $500 set, no? If is the continuation of the Marvel Modular series, of which the Daily Bugle is the first, then it will not be MCU based.
  4. It's pretty clear that the Daily Bugle is not MCU related, so no?
  5. I feel the same about Welcome to Apocalypseburg. “Castle in the Forest” despite its many flaws will be worth >1000 USD next year. Lego scalpers usually have multiple accounts and given the order glitch on the website, It’s safe to assume there are less than 7000 unique owners worldwide.
  6. Just throwing this out there: Re 76210 if there was ever a good time for a modular Sanctum Sanctorum this year would be it.
  7. Issues: -- Stability -- Aberrant instructions -- Stickers. Hmmmmmmm... Not my channel, btw.
  8. Current bricklink stats for "Castle in the Forest" 38 sets for sale from 28 sellers. smh. This ratio was closer to 2:1, but still smh. Price has not dipped below 400 USD (excluding shipping). Basic finance theory tells you many sellers are still hoarding them for the long-term. The only hope for a small price drop is if more are shipped in June.
  9. I was never sold on LEGO Lights until I got gifted the light kit for Darth Vader Mediation Chamber and they brought the set alive. LEGO Light Kits are expensive, ranging up to 2/3 the price of the set they go on: (1) I know very little about electronics, are they are a rip-off? Is there a cheaper way to DIY? (2) How long before LEGO starts producing optional light kits?
  10. If there was no discrepancy with VIP points the customer service person should have informed me and the matter would have been laid to rest. They no longer have localised customer service, which is not acceptable for a company their size since they have many physical stores in this country.
  11. During the recent Double VIP Points period, I placed two orders on the November 20 (UCS Millennium Falcon and Daily Bugle) and LEGO backdated the order date to November 19. I was on the phone for over an half hour trying to explain my case with a call center where English was not the native language, the supervisor refused come to the phone, they were not interested in viewing my credit card statements, and finally as "a special favour but for one time only" they would give me the Double VIP Points. What is happening to this company?
  12. Where do you keep your other unbuilt LEGO sets? smh,
  13. Betrayal at Cloud City is a great set and is a faithful representation of the subject matter.
  14. Well that was unfortunate. Clockwork Aquarium gets 5th spot.
  15. That's really poor from TLG. Is there anything stopping you from selling it through your website?
  16. I estimate it is 600 preorders behind. That's going to be hard to make up based on the price point. Btw, if I have pre-ordered four funded projects and one unfunded, can I pre-order the other funded project?
  17. The actually calender in Seasons In Tme is such a beautiful construction, yet LEGO provides no clear images of it. WTF?
  18. LEGO Modular may reach 10,000 in 24 hours. In the midst of lockdown, where people aren't going away on holidays, electronic goods such as new video game consoles are hard to find and people are saving on general things such as drycleaning, petrol and eating out, LEGO is a big beneficary.
  19. That's exactly the reason. Yeah, there's defintely a Goldilocks zone moneywise.
  20. The smaller sets are surprisingly performing badly. It's like a horse race... COME ON SEASONS IN TIME!
  21. That's exactly what I meant. Thank you. Also, wetwired designed several vehicles for The LEGO Batman movie.
  22. @wetwired had a several projects that were rejected at 10K but were made into sets anyway like the original UCS Tumbler and Ghostbusters HQ (I think).
  23. For the record, Wetwired is the most successful LEGO IDEAS creator ever. (Many thanks to others for updating this thread while I was in C19 hell),
  24. Sorry for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Bad timing with a new movie coming out, I guess
