Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm hoping we can get an MJ figure. Especially since Marvel won't let us have a comic-based MJ minifig anymore but a Kirsten Dunst one should be allowed. This does bode well for the Goblin. He's long overdue for a remake. -

This was my first thought too. Would love to see the PS game made into a Lego set, especially if it paves the way for sets based on the Insomniac Wolverine game. It's really weird that this is the year Lego is going all out for Spider-Man stuff. The Raimi films, ITSV, and now the Insomniac game. I wonder if Lego's MCU stuff has been selling so poorly the last few years that this is just the first year that they've gotten everything together to focus on purely Spider-Man content since he's a sure bet unlike the new MCU films. -

Same, I would have loved a Sleeping Beauty castle set. Especially if they used the Disneyland Paris design because there are some excellent MOCs for that. I don't think the new castle has really been selling all that well since it's basically just a reskinned version of the original castle set. By this time, most everyone who wanted that castle would already have bought the original during its long shelf life. I would definitely like more Disney minifigs, not just for new characters but also new minifigs of previously existing characters who weren't done well the first time around. Namely Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, and Sorcerer's Mickey since their minifigs were more based on how they look in the Disney Parks or merchandise rather than how they look in the movies. But I'd also like to see more animal molds. There are a lot of classic Disney animal characters who deserve the Lego treatment like Figaro, Thumper, Flower, Timothy Mouse, Jaq, Gus, Lady, Tramp, Pongo, Perdita, Abu, Iago, Timon, Pumbaa, Zazu, Meeko, Flit, Percy, Djali, Scuttle, etc. -

That might not be that bad an idea though. We'll want at least one regular FF torso. Sue's will be female-based. Johnny's will probably be on fire and Ben's will be rocky and orange so having one standard FF torso would be good. Let's hope, I'd love to see sets on the Raimi movies. And that train scene still holds up today, way more iconic than most things in the entire MCU. -

Twice now they've been unable to come up with a good Lilo hairstyle. If I'm correct, this is the Mulan hairpiece. Lego seems to not want to invest in a proper Lilo hairmold as they keep giving Lilo someone else's sloppy seconds and now Nani is getting the same treatment. I don't know what the live-action Lilo looks like but I'm almost wondering if this Lego minifig is more supposed to resemble her. Lilo's legs bother me a little less because at least her previous minifigure has the skirt piece. I still haven't bought that set yet but that can at least be switched out and fixed. Looking more closely at Nani, is that just Pocahontas' face reused? It's one thing to reuse the hair, but it seems like they took the head as well. If that's the case, then the Nani minifig is literally just the castoffs of the Pocahontas minifig. It's not a common enough skin tone in Lego to even find an alternative head that would match her skin. In the movie, Nani wears shoes that look like ugs but that's definitely not the case here. Agreed on everyone else. Stitch I think is actually a brighter blue than the more pale/powder blue of his original minifigure. He's actually a dark blue in the movie but this is a step in the right direction to make him slightly darker since I've said before that his minifig was not movie accurate to his fur color. And yeah, with Cobra Bubbles, I haven't much to say because there isn't much to him that could be messed up. Yes, I just noticed that too. First Lilo had the Pocahontas hairpiece. Then they gave Nani that hair so they gave Lilo Mulan's hair instead. Which is rather ironic since Mulan's hair wasn't even accurate for her minifigure (she should have had a short shoulder-length hairpiece). And it seems Nani has the Pocahontas head along with the hair. That's true, the original house is yellow before it's rebuilt with the tech modifications. Disney has even released a playset for the house that was based on the original yellow iteration. Stitch's spaceship being included (plus all the easter eggs from the final song of the film, Burning Love) are probably why they went with the redesigned house from the end of the movie, especially since that's how it looked in the sequels and show. It would have been nice to include yellow pieces that can essentially reskin the house along with removing the observatory. -

I really like that Nani got dual molded arms. I honestly didn't expect Lego would do that. I remember her top being more orange than pink though. I don't like how they repeated Pocahontas' hair for her. They have completely different hairstyles. I'm glad they gave Nani printing but I have no idea what's going on with her legs. I don't remember her wearing blue socks for example. It's interesting that Lilo is different from her previous minifig. She has legs with printed on shoes now instead of a skirt piece and they gave her a new hairpiece. But I don't think this one suits her anymore than the old Pocahontas one did. Honestly, she doesn't really resemble Lilo to me. David looks nice although as I expected, he doesn't have dual molded legs. I like the inclusion of his fire sticks though. The house is okay looking. Better than I expected but still on the smaller side. I like the inclusion of the record player, the Ugly Duckling book, Lilo's picture of her parents (with the Stitch insert from the end), Stitch's shoebox bed, and also the Thanksgiving photo. I guess if we couldn't get Jumba and Pleakley, it's nice that the photo does feature them. I think I also see the picture Lilo draws for the social worker visit of her being left alone at home. I have mixed feelings as well. I was expecting the bare minimum so in some ways, the set has exceeded my expectations but there are lots of things I wanted which didn't happen. I agree that the house not being built above ground makes it look more generic and not like the real house. That's such a defining characteristic of the house from the movie that its loss is really felt here. It reminds me of how Lego really eliminated most of the steps leading to Jack Skellington's house as well. Dual molded legs should have been a must for Nani and David. And especially for Lilo's arms. I think I'm the only one who's been complaining about how Lego isn't giving Lilo sleeves so I'm happy to see somebody else concur. Yes, first they used it for Lilo in the Target exclusive set and now they've given it to Nani. That hairpiece is being passed around to just about everyone now. They didn't include the tattoo for David right? That's a pity. They gave Pocahontas one in the CMF so they could have given David one too. -

I think Nani will probably wear that orange t-shirt too. But I'm remembering that when Lego made the Harry minifig from the Second Task set, they didn't bother giving him shorts. They just gave him plain black legs. And Harry is the lead of that whole theme whereas Nani and David are both minor characters, so if Harry couldn't get dual molded legs to portray his shorts, I don't think we'll see Nani and David get the extra treatment. -

Nani and David wear shorts in the movie. And Nani wears a short-sleeved shirt. But I'm guessing Lego wouldn't be making dual molded legs or arms for either of them, especially when they didn't bother for Lilo. -

I didn't expect Jumba and Pleakley so I'm just happy that David and Cobra Bubbles are being included. Glad the pickle jar is being referenced. Plus a spaceship. Hopefully Lilo will get dual molded arms now. -

I have seen those. But the last Sherlock Holmes film that RDJ did was way back in 2011. That was before even the Avengers came out. He was rather lucky that those Sherlock Holmes movies came out at the same time as his Iron Man movies so the popularity of both boosted him. He hasn't had that box office success on his own name since Endgame. Which to be fair, isn't just exclusive to him but most actors now since there are barely any genuine stars left. Even Harrison Ford's recent movies have all flopped, whether Blade Runner 2049, Indiana Jones, Call of the Wild, etc. There's a reason he's doing Marvel now as well because his movies aren't working anymore, even if BNW will probably be as big a dud at the box office as his last Indiana Jones. -

The Valentine's Day poster costumes do look retro but they're still not the costumes they wear from the comics. I think a lot of us wanted minifigs based on how they looked in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game, with their classic blue/black costumes. I remember hearing a lot of people stocked up on Oswald minifigs specifically because he had the dual molded legs that were perfect for the FF if we got their classic costumes as minifigs. I'll have to wait and see what the final set looks like before deciding if I like the finished product or not. Frankly, based on how Lego treats most of their Marvel minifigs with little to no printing or dual molded legs, I'm not expecting much from the FF set. I would love a Torch minifig like that. That would be a day one purchase for me. We'll have to wait and see if we get the classic Surfer in the 616 Marvel Universe or not. With so many characters being packed in from so many movies and universes, there's no guarantee the Surfer will necessarily get a part. Especially if Galactus isn't involved in Doomsday and Secret Wars. But considering how often Doom has been obsessed with stealing the Surfer's powers, that hopefully bodes well for the Surfer appearing in one or both of those movies. I don't completely agree. While DC sets are mostly nonexistent now, Batman still gets special sets from time to time. And I believe Batman is getting an Arkham Asylum D2C set. If worst comes to worst and the MCU fails and Lego shutters the Marvel theme, we'll still get Spider-Man sets based on the comics. That sells too well. And the X-Men have gotten sets entirely based on X-Men '97 which is independent from the MCU. Lego had faith in them as a franchise so the MCU failing wouldn't affect X-Men sets. Like Spider-Man, we got X-Men sets way back when the Marvel theme first began that were entirely based on the comics rather than the movies. The only reason there was such a huge gap was because of the rights issues. I think Chris Evans isn't charismatic as an actor by himself but combined with his Captain America character, he does work and stands up as an equal foil to Downey Jr.'s Iron Man. I agree with you about Hemsworth though. I never cared for his Thor and all his films outside of Marvel have never worked. But that's been true for Chris Evans and even Robert Downey Jr. His Doctor Dolittle failed. Oppenheimer was a success but he had a supporting role in that and it had an all-star cast and Christopher Nolan. Many people said he agreed to return to Marvel because his films weren't working. From what I've read online, BNW feels a lot like the Falcon and Winter Soldier show. Basically part two to that. -

That's definitely part of the issue that we've never had a Silver Surfer minifig and assuming we even get one now for the FF set (and that's a big if), it won't be the Silver Surfer everyone was waiting for. It'll be a real slap in the face for the first Silver Surfer minifig to really be a different character. Falcon was basically just the sidekick. That was his situation in the comics as well until recently but according to readers, they did manage to make him into an all-rounder character. I've never read his stuff so I wouldn't know. But the MCU has failed to do that so far, even knowing in advance what was coming for him. I'm not a big Bucky fan but he's certainly been more interesting and probably has more recognition as a character. As a fan of Carol from the comics, I haven't been impressed with her MCU version. I actually like Brie Larson and was happy she got the role, especially after her Oscar-winning performance in Room, but her character's been a dud for me. Especially in the first Captain Marvel where I felt she had no personality or anything that makes her tick as a character. Part of the issue is that she's amnesiac until the very end of the film so we don't really get to see the real Captain Marvel until the climax of the movie. And then her scenes in Endgame were all written before Captain Marvel, so she's got no personality there either because they left her a blank slate on purpose so that her movie could flesh her out. That's two films where she's basically an enigma. Her sequel was the chance to finally help audiences get attached to the character (assuming it wasn't too late already), but instead the decision was to saddle her with two Disney+ characters and have the trio frolic around the galaxy and nobody is going to be interested in that, particularly with characters they don't know or care about. I wonder if the reason they didn't go with the more arrogant personality is because they already had Stephen Strange in that role to play the new Tony. Carol seemed like she was meant to be the new Steve in the Avengers dynamic. But of course, that's also an issue that if characters like Carol and Stephen were supposed to lead the next iteration of the Avengers, we haven't seen them interact at all. There's no relationship dynamic between all of these solo heroes so far. -

I don't think it's been posted in this thread yet but for any Disney fans who didn't check the Pirates section, apparently Lego Icons is making a Black Pearl set for Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm hoping we get some new minifigs like an updated Elizabeth Swann, Davy Jones, Barbossa, etc. The fact that Fortnite included Lego minifigs for Elizabeth, Davy Jones, Barbossa, and two versions of Jack can't be a coincidence. -

I think Lego was banking on the Captain America title, Red Hulk, and not expecting the film to be as DOA as it probably will be especially after multiple rounds of reshoots that still haven't reached any positive audience reactions. The outcome of BNW will probably affect the fate of future Lego MCU sets. Falcon becoming the new Cap in the comics was originally also controversial but I think readers grew to accept him and even liked him in the role. The problem is that in the movies, Anthony Mackie has never been that beloved or charismatic an actor to headline this legacy character. There's no audience interest or love for him in the role. That didn't happen after the Falcon and Winter Soldier series, which was created specifically to prepare audiences for Falcon in this role, and it doesn't sound like BNW will achieve that either. Marvel realized they were losing their original actors and thought they could introduce a new generation of younger actors that could last another 10-15 years in these roles but most of them haven't resonated. And ironically enough, saddling Captain Marvel with two spinoff characters, when she was barely a fully formulated character herself, probably also caused her decline as well. Meanwhile Lego is still charging outrageous prices for that Marvels set lol. Based on how they've failed to make Blade over and over and it's been in development hell, I'm guessing all the more mature characters are just too tricky to bring into the MCU. We know they're working hard on bringing in the X-Men as a last chance to bring back new energy into this flagging franchise. That might be good for more Lego X-Men sets but based on the quality of the MCU these days, I don't know if I trust them with any X-Men movies. That franchise may fail to take off and damage the brand. It could be a case like in The Flash movie where those actors have a few seconds of cameos and that's all. Like Henry Cavill in Deadpool and Wolverine. Depending on who they manage to bring back. There were lots of rumors about the X-Men cast in D&W and then the majority of those rumored actors never ended up in the film. Not to mention the alleged stunt castings like Taylor Swift as Dazzler. Although maybe we'll still get a Dazzler minifigure considering one version of her was in that Lego Marvel film and another version was an easter egg in the X-Mansion. I'm not sure. But wasn't it confirmed some pages back that we aren't getting a Marvel D2C this year?
