Which set should I buy?
Thanks everyone. I was looking at some combination of Luke's Landspeeder and the Malevolence, or Anakin's Jedi Starfighter; and the Millennium Falcon and Droid Escape. He also really likes Palpatine's Shuttle... Though he saw Jabba's Palace yesterday and said he really liked that one, My only concern is the lack of swoosh-able ships - and no Luke! Nice to have such dilemmas!

Which set should I buy?
Hi folks, I am pretty new to this and need some help. My son is turning five and has asked for some Star Wars Lego for his birthday. He's a pretty good builder, but he definitely can't handle anything too complex. We build together, and he genuinely loves that. He takes extremely good care of his sets and is pedantic about not losing pieces! Building is something we do together. He then plays with the sets and does minor modifications to suit whatever storyline he's got going. He loves his DC sets the most, but has developed a love for Star Wars and is now desperate for some Star Wars Lego. I'm in a bit of a bind. He loves Luke and Anakin the most, and of course Darth Vader, but I can't find a set that would cover all his favorites - Luke and Darth Vader being OT (he loves eps 4 & 6) and Anakin from Clone Wars. What sets would you recommend for a 5 yo, bearing in mind that I'm happy to go for more complex builds, so the recommended age factor isn't really a key tipping point. The key factor is that the sets need to contain as many key figures as possible, and not be too outrageous a gift for a 5 yo, given that we have many years of collecting and building ahead of us... Cost isn't really a huge factor either, in the sense that I don't mind spending a bit more for recently retired sets, and he's not a spoiled child throughout the year. I would prefer a couple of small to medium sets, or one big one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
Crazy Scientist is now $59.99 at Shopforme.com.au - $10 off the Kmart price but then there's the shipping. I suppose if you're ordering more than one set, or you're in Melbourne where you have the pick-up option, it might make it worth it. I've ordered from them before and the service is outstanding.

Amazon.it still has best price on the Death Star for Australians. Got mine a few weeks ago: cost about $430 AUD including shipping. Arrived within 5 days, impeccably packed. Remember, they deduct VAT when you go to checkout so price is actually lower than the listed price for us Aussies. :-) Also picked up Jabba's Palace for $149.90 at DJs. 25% off all toys. Not sure when it ends but got it one week ago.

Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores
Shopforme.com.au are offering the full 7 Monster Fighter sets for $347 plus local shipping (Australia which for me came to $15), in case anyone in OZ is interested. It's a pre-order at the moment, with a $30 deposit. My bet is that this is going to be waaaay cheaper than RRP in Australia on these sets... (Set doesn't include the Haunted House) Oh, I'm not affiliated with them or anything, either!

Yes! Seriously. Yes. That $430 INCLUDES shipping. So, was about 270 something euros for the actual set, minus tax, then about 80 euros for shipping.

Hi! Newbie here! Just thought I'd let other Aussie fans know I just picked up the 10188 Death Star from Amazon Italy for $430 ish including shipping. Remember that they deduct the tax when you order outside the EU... But the best part is that I ordered and paid on Monday and received it, impeccably packed, on Friday. Am gobsmacked! If you were holding out for a deal on this set, this is it! (I know for other regions this might not seem like such a great deal, but considering it retails here for over $600, and even good deal from the states include $100+ shipping, it's definitely worth it!)
