I haven't been following the movie leaks since I don't care for the movie but I heard from you guys that there will time traveling antics,meaning that there could be a younger indy.Guess we'll have to wait for more details on those new sets. And unfortunately most of their actions are misses in my opinion any way.But that is another topic so let us not derail this thread.

I'm not particular fond of the idea that half of those sets are remakes.There is alot of material that they can adapt on lego form like the Petra Temple for example,yet they choose to lazily remake older sets.Either they are planning on more waves with more original sets or this is just a quick cash grab,which why they are remaking older sets especialy those that are based on iconic scenes like the Temple of Doom or the Ark Tomb. And lastly if the 150$ set is based on the 4th movie then along side with the four sets which are based on the 5th one,we'll end up with 5 sets worth of old indy.Which is really lame honestly

For the time being I'm more focused on what's coming up next year Whenever I will want to see more indy sets beyond next year will be based on how good the new sets will be.

So here's something interesting to think about.Apparently back in '08 the very first indy wave dropped in January and it was consisted of four sets,all of them were based on the original trilogy.Then in May another wave with four sets dropped and it was focused on the 4th movie. Next year we are getting the same amount of sets,with three (possibly four) being based on the older movies and four on the upcoming movie.I think it's safe to assume that the release schedule for next year will be similar to the one from '08.

Since I haven't been following the news regarding this theme I have a few questions.Do we know when the second wave will drop and will the first wave be exclusively based on the first movie?

Yea a small wave with each set covering a different movie could prolong this theme's life.But in the end this depends on how well this years sets will sell and those price increases will definitely cause harm. Yea I'm crossing my fingers for a Petra set as well,if it's D2C set even better since I think this theme works well for large scale location sets.

Well HP has longevity because of the immense source material.Indy has four (soon to be five) movies and considering how only the first three are well liked with the fourth one being the one that everyone is trying to forget and the 5th being a mystery for the time being it makes the theme short lived. As you said I if it goes beyond this year it will probably last 3 years max.If that's the case I hope they atleast remake the Temple Escape and maybe gives us some new set pieces like the Venice tomb scene.

As for 77015 it'll be hilarious if the most the most expensive set ends up being based on the least popular movie

That's my speculation as well. Considering the amount of detail we already have about those four sets,makes January a pretty safe bet. But I have to say I wasn't expecting news this soon and with this amount of detail as well! Best news out all of this is the dual molded hat!

When the film was delayed I was certain that there won't be any sets this year but ever since the potential rumors I got my hopes up only for them to be crashed. It is time to stop thinking about lego indy untill rumours drop next year.

Well either this is a store exclusive theme which is why we haven't heard anything and to add to that lego has stricter security for a potential leak or this is fake news. It's likely the latter or maybe it's just a new lame theme that went under the radar.

If that's the case then it's a shame.This new theme is rumored to release in april,yes?

So are we getting indy sets this year or not?

I'm still holding out hope for a summer release.

I'm assuming their original plan was to release one big wave that included all the sets,the ones based on the new movie and the ones based on the older movies this year. But since the movie has been delayed they kept the sets based on the OG movies for this year and the ones based on the new one for next year. Which is why there are no cheap sets in this line up. Of course this is all speculation.

Oh yea I forgot about Jack Sparrow's hat/hair piece.

Hopefully one day we get a sesame street series.

I think the first hat/hair piece debuted in the Lone Ranger theme.

Damn copy cats,if it wasn't for them we'd be having a ton of leaks and fairs!

I keep thinking about that dual hat/hair mold for Indy,I have high expectations for the minifigures.Hopefully the designers will deliver.

Considering how disappointing the fairs have been the last couple of years I don't mind the cancelation.
