  1. Yeah, Willie and Krabappel in Series 2 made me really certain that they were saving Skinner for Series 3. I guess not though (or maybe they planned a Series 3 but changed their mind to Disney early on).
  2. These are definitely... different. I sort of like them though. The pig's ears look sort of awkward with the stud in the front. The birds are looking pretty good, however. I just wish these sets were game based instead of movie based.
  3. I think people generally misconstrue the whole "not kid-friendly for LEGO" statement. LEGO's proved constantly over the years that they can do more mature themes. And I don't think people give kids enough credit. Moe serves drinks, yes, but it's not like LEGO's telling kids to go drink beer. They're selling a figure of a fictional character in a fictional TV show. Besides, if someone really did have a problem with a Moe figure for those reasons, they probably wouldn't be watching The Simpsons in the first place. As for a Series 3, I really hope we still get one. I used to think it was really likely because of all the major characters they seemed to leave out (Moe, Skinner, Sideshow Bob), but with the Disney series coming I'm beginning to think that The Simpsons is done. If that's true, then I'm at least happy with what we got. I certainly never expected to get The Simpsons anyway.
  4. Ello Asty would be my pick since he's got an awesome design. I bet they could just print his face on a minifigure head too. I know he's a different species, but they just printed the alien head on the Resistance Ground Crewman and he turned out really good.
  5. I don't think it would be that big of a deal if they released the Doctor Strange set around August. It's early, yes, but it's only one set that will probably be very loosely based on the film (just look at the Ant-Man set). Plus it'd probably come with characters whose designs we'd have already seen at that point.
  6. On the subject of X-Wings, I think there's a good chance one of the Force Awakens Microfighters is a grey and blue one. I seriously doubt we'd get a system scale one while Poe's is still on shelves, but a Microfighter is different enough to warrant two X-Wings available at the same time. Plus, they could give us an exclusive pilot instead of the generic one that came with Poe's X-Wing.

Were the Dalek designs the same as the ones from Dimensions? What colors were they? Thanks in advance!
  8. I love all of the suited characters. I think they're the real embodiments of the Collectable Minifigures line. Others I really like are the Genie (hopefully we'll get an evil red one soon!), the Yeti, and the Gingerbread Man.
  9. I think they might do the new Death Star as sort of an "Updated" version. I'm thinking it'll be similar to how they remade the Winter Village Toy Shop this year. There'll be a few changes to the original to improve on it, but it'll pretty much be the same set. I think it's possible we could get some new rooms to represent scenes from Rogue One though.
  10. I've now built the three largest sets, and I can say that I truly love them. The builds are impressive and the minifigures are some of the best from Star Wars. The only real problems with these sets are the prices. I love the hats used on the First Order officers and General Hux, but I also sort of wanted to give Hux a hairpiece to switch out between. Any ideas for what would work best? I tried the classic male hairpiece in orange and Obi-Wan's hair, but neither looked very good.
  11. I agree. I've been suspecting for a while that Hall of Mirrors is just Battle on Takodana. If they were two different sets, then what would be the point? They'd basically be depicting the same scene, which is unnecessary. Battle on Takodana (Hall of Mirrors) is probably more of a play set with Maz's castle while the Pirate Transport will just be a vehicle.
  12. I gave into the hype and picked up the three largest sets yesterday. I think I'll at least save the X-Wing for double VIP points in October. I've only been building the Falcon so far, but I've got to say that it's one of the most enjoyable builds I've ever had. I really love this set. From what I saw, Rey's Speeder was a really big seller. Probably because it's the only "cheap" new set.
  13. After reading some descriptions of the new Hasbro toys, it seems like Takodana is definitely the planet where Maz Kanata and her pirates reside. So does that mean Battle on Takodana and the Pirate Transport are both going to be based on similar scenes (or maybe even the same scene)? Could this mean the sets will have some connectivity between them? Either way, I'm excited that LEGO's devoting the two largest TFA sets of the winter wave to these scenes, since they were absent in this first wave.
  14. As others have said, Episode VIII is 2 years away. And in the time before that, we've got Episode VII sets that haven't been covered yet, Rebels Season 2 sets (and maybe even Season 3 sets), and Rogue One sets. I doubt we'll be seeing many remakes/rehashes from this point forward. LEGO will be a lot more careful with their set choices.
  15. Yeah, I personally think the stud shooters are really fun and work as a great play feature. However, I don't like them in Star Wars sets since I'd prefer the weapons to be more accurate (and for them all to match; it's a bit awkward when half the troopers have stud shooters and the other half have normal blasters). I think the stud shooters are awesome for other themes but I'd prefer them out of Star Wars.
  16. Thanks for all the info, Hulk Smash! It's really appreciated. I know a lot of people are sick of Iron Man appearing so much, but I love it. Iron Man's suits are awesome, so I'm happy we're getting four (possibly five) new variants next year alone. We're getting closer and closer to being able to make an official Iron Legion!
  17. I'm a bit disappointed about the description of Obi-Wan's interceptor. I guess this means no new Commander Cody. No R4-G9 either. But I'm satisfied with the description of the Carbon Freezing Chamber. We had heard there would only be 3 figures plus the Carbonite block, and we also knew the set would only be $25. I think LEGO made the right choice with this one. I'm also happy about it because I'm assuming we'll get more Cloud City in the summer.
  18. I would also say it's Firefly. The jetpack with fire coming out is a dead giveaway, and I really can't see them giving that to Deadshot (or any other villain) because it's so closely associated with Firefly. Plus, LEGO usually uses colors like white to indicate new molds, so the white head could mean he'll have a molded helmet.
  19. Wow, so is that black face print on the First Order Crew in the Command Shuttle new? I'm surprised but really happy LEGO did that. It's nice to get more diversity, even if the characters are wearing helmets. It's actually kind of funny that the First Order Crew get specific faces while a major character like Phasma just gets a blank black head.
  20. If I'm remembering correctly, the third option wasn't Cloud City, it was Slave I with the Cloud City landing platform. So all we would have gotten probably would have been a walkway. With that said, it's pretty interesting now to see that all three of those sets from that vote ended up getting made anyway (with the exception of the landing platform part). It'd be cool if there was another fan choice thing in the future. I'm pretty excited to see how they'll handle the Carbon Freezing set though. $25 might sound cheap, but I think it's actually a pretty good price range just for the chamber alone. I'm expecting lots of trans orange.
  21. I'll admit that I understand the reasoning for giving Phasma the blank head, but it's still pretty disappointing. I was really looking forward to whatever face print she could have had. Ah well, we'll be getting sets based on these new movies for years to come so I'm sure she'll get her real face one day, whether it shows up in the movies or not.
  22. There actually is a clear picture of the main bad guy figure out of the box with his printed mask floating around out there. I'll send you the picture.

Meh, if that's true about the Daleks then that's a little disappointing to me. I get that the Dimensions one is made with the rebuildable feature in mind, but it'd be nice if we had one clear build for the Daleks instead of two different ones. Even though the Dimensions Dalek is a little blocky, I think it's actually sort of charming and would work perfectly well in the Ideas set.
  24. I agree, and we can already see this happening with Rebels Season 2 sets. There's quite a few set possibilities, but those seem to be getting sidelined for a bit longer since we now have The Force Awakens coming out. And I'm perfectly fine with that, because it just means that the amount of new sets for every wave will remain consistent. Still, the amount of time it takes for us to get remakes for some of these new sets (like Kylo's Command Shuttle) is an interesting thought. With a permanent theme like Star Wars it's bound to happen eventually... but like you said, it won't be happening soon, because there's so much new content coming out over the next decade that we'll be well covered for a while.
  25. Wow, my thoughts on Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle just completely changed. It looked pretty bad in that leaked photo, but it looks much better here. The more compact look it has with the wings retracted really makes it look like a better model. I'm not as disappointed with the Kylo figure as others are, but I do wish they went about him differently. A hood/helmet combination like Antimatter from Ultra Agents would have been perfect. That way, we could have had him unmasked with his actual face as well. I guess there'll be plenty of chances for that in the future though. I'm also impressed with the number of female figures in the sets. Not that gender diversity in LEGO sets ever concerned me, but Star Wars has always had an extremely unbalanced ratio. Getting not only Rey and Phasma but also two generic females (the Resistance Soldier and the First Order Officer) in these sets is a welcomed change.
