  1. Corner plates are a great idea, they are quite versatile.
  2. Hi all. I have a bit of a problem. Sometimes I get the urge to stick some Lego bricks together (who doesn't?), but then I remember that my Lego is stored in a number of crates that I'll have to unpack all over the room and then pack away when I'm done. So I end up not sticking any bricks together. I don't have the budget (or space) for a better storage system right now, but I have an idea. A small jar of essential bricks that I can keep on my desk and use for on-the-spot building. The question is, what bricks to put in that jar? They have to be versatile and not too big. Here are my ideas so far. Headlight bricks. Extremely versatile. Cheese slopes. Small and good for decorations. 1x2 plate with 1 stud. Good for making things symmetrical. Aside from that I'm thinking a 6x6 or so plate to use as a baseplate, and one or two minifigs. What are your suggestions? If you could only bring 50 bricks to a deserted island, what bricks would you choose?
  3. I looked at the Brikwars rules, but they were just too complicated. I used Brickbattles because I read the rules five years ago and still remember them!
  4. I'm afraid you posted that too late... the battle is over. But I can tell you what happened. The Sentinel keep sailing around the island, chased by the Impaler. The colonists on the mountain take the treasure, while those on the Sentinel shoot the pirates on the island. Eventually the colonist with the treasure makes a heroic leap from the mountain onto the Sentinel, his buddy getting killed by the pirates. The Sentinel sails off, but the pirates aren't giving up, despite there only being two left! The Impaler rams the Sentinel repeatedly, and the pirate captain boards, but gets killed. The last pirate keep ramming the Impaler into the Sentinel, and sinks it! The colonists are thrown into the water, but swims to the Impaler and board it, killing the last pirate and taking control of the ship. Then they sail back to the colonies with the treasure and much fame and glory...

The Royal Knights have always been my favorites! And very nice MOC too.
  6. Is anyone still interested in this? This costs me money to do, and I'm not going to continue if nobody's interested.

    It's looking good so far.
  8. This story is great. I can't wait for the next part! And nice ships too.

I like this! I saw your Duel of Mates vig too, and I think this star wars/castle idea is great. Please build more!
  10. I use a cell phone. And I couldn´t use a camera even if I had one, because I don´t have a computer with Internet access. This whole thing has already been discussed in the Crown Colonists thread, so look there if you want more details about my situation.
  11. My votes are (in order of class) jamtf, because who couldn't buy an Impulse set with all that equipment? Dufresne, because of Islanders and a lovely canoe. jaudeau, because of great design and choice of parts.

That's a great locomotive! I especially like how you built the driver's compartment, with those upside down arches.
  13. This is a solo battle I'm fighting, using the Brickbattles system. (I'm sorry for the low picture quality, I use my cell phone.) The pirates face the Crown Colonists in a battle on the high seas, for the treasure of Isla Verde... Forces Both sides have 10 minifigs, one of them with a hero point (the captain) and a ship. Rules amendments I had to improvise quite a lot of rules for this battle. If anyone is interested in them please tell me. The ships are deployed, "Sail ho!" The pirates´ Impaler and the colonists´ Sentinel. Isla Verde Turn 1 The ships set sail and head for the island and the treasure. The stupid pirates fires their cannon, but it's way out of effective range. Turn 2 Not much happened here, the ships manouvre closer to the island. Turn 3 The colonists land at Isla Verde, but the pirates are closing in. The cannon is fired, causing no major damage on the Impaler. A colonist kill a crocodile. A cannon shot from the Impaler flies right over the head of this lucky fellow. Turn 4 The Impaler rams the Sentinel, and the pirates begin to board! Two pirates jump into the water and swim for Isla Verde, while the colonists charge the remaining crocodile. The Impaler's cannon only succeed in blowing off some railing, but it's ramming spike causes a hit on the Sentinel. At the Sentinel's deck, the pirates kill a colonist. In return, the crown captain slays a pirate with his bare hands! The colonists kill the remaining crocodile, but the Sentinel's cannon misses the pirates in the water. Turn 5 The Sentinel move away from the Impaler, but it gives pursuit and rams again. The colonists on Isla Verde prepare themselves to take on the swimming pirates. The colonists kill the last boarding pirate. The cannon on the Impaler finally does something useful, killing a colonist! Turn 6 The Sentinel keep moving away from the Impaler. Two more pirates arrive at Isla Verde. The colonists move onto the treasure mountain, and shoots one of the pursuing pirates. And finally, the Impaler's cannon fail to destroy anything of greater importance. Turn 7 coming soon

Yes, I didn´t want to build "romantic" post-apoclaypse, nor something in the Mad Max style I´ve seen in many MOCs. I wanted gritty realism.

After the Apocalypse, keep your friends close. Even if they are sick. This pair of poor souls seek shelter in a ruined building, cooking their last meat. Money finds new uses. I´m sorry for the low picture quality, I use my cell phone. Brickshelf once public

The torsos are all from Crownies. I´m planning for a battle between these guys and some pirates soon, using the Brickbattles game system. I´ll report it in the Wargames forum.

I think we don´t need strict rules in a story-driven RPG if people play in a mature manner and don´t just say "I dodge" every time they are attacked.

The computer is meant to be used for quick things, such as checking your e-mail. I can of course log in again once the ten minutes have expired, but it´s pretty annoying. But back on subject, I recently bought some castle trolls, and I think their bodies can be used for pirates if you give them yellow hands. And the dwarf beards will look great on captains and marooned sailors.
