1950s Custom Pickup Truck (Lego Creator Expert set 10290 mod)
My latest creation is a mod of the recently released set 10290: Pickup Truck. It was completely rebuilt to look mostly the same, but lowered as far as possible. It seems like a simple mod, but was a bit of a challenge. I like the original grill a lot, but wanted one based on a real truck. I was going for a 1955 Ford at first, thinking I could re-use the 1x2 curved slope with printed V8 logo in the center, but then decided on a late 1940s, early 1950s Chevrolet version. Besides that, the bed was shortened a stud, running boards were 'painted' to match, studs eliminated, different shifter, relocated fuel door, passenger mirror removed, full wood bed, changed door handle, and incorporated tail lights. I was going for a more extreme hot rod originally, but really like this clean look. Maybe in the future I'll do a drag version with big engine.

No. It's not really possible in this scale and detail. Thank you.

Lego Classic Space Monorail
The entire layout has been taken down. But I've bought more track and built three more monorails, all ready to go now for Brickfair An M:Tron version, built entirely with only the original M:Tron pieces from 1990-91 on a Airport Shuttle chassis, a Blacktron version, built entirely with only the original Blacktron I pieces from 1987-1988 on a Unitron monorail chassis, and a Space Police I version, completing the second generation space themes, also built entirely with only the original pieces from 1989 on a Futuron monorail chassis.

[MOC] Legoland Movie Theater
There are on a cycle of different patterns in the video. I can also show just one of the patterns, or leave them all on continuously, as well as adjust the brightness, with a remote control. These are ordinary, cheap Christmas lights. I was going to have some custom lighting made with better patterns. But it would have cost twenty, thirty, who-knows-how-much more than what I have here.

Thank you all for the kind words. Thanks. It has a simple interior, yes. Just a foyer leading up to four more doors with large Lego Movie posters on each side, all lit up. It looks a lot blue-er than I expected it to. I thought it looked not-so-great in the pictures, but one of them above includes one. Here's a better view though: The majority of the interior is a web of wiring, batteries, and a strong internal structural Technic frame. There are also two compartments, one on each side like so: This is also where I keep a couple bicycles, for when this gets displayed in Ashland later this year. For Brickfair, they will not be included.- [MOC] Legoland Movie Theater

- 1960s VW Beetle - Custom
This is a redesigned, custom version of Creator Beetle (10252), which I've wanted to do since it came out. A lot of people complained, saying the Lego model looked more like a Citroen 2CV. I personally think it's a great model, with all its details. I have nothing against it. That said, I do think the shaping could look more a little more like the real thing and I wanted to give it a shot. It's quite the challenge, with all its curves. There are only so many dark azure pieces to work with. I figured lowering it as much as possible would also add to that difficulty (not to mention it's hilarious). It took a lot of time and figuring out, but this is the result, which I'm mostly happy with, considering what I had to work with, the goal, and the comically large new fender pieces. All chrome is original Lego, except the wheels. They're real Lego wheels, chromed by another company (randomly found browsing Bricklink one day). The 8-ball shifter knob is from Killer Croc Tail-Gator (70907), the shifter stick from Frightening Knight (CMF s15), the tinted windshielf from Mini Cooper (10242), and the "love" tile on the dash is from the Yellow Submarine (21306). These pieces are unique to those sets and relatively recently produced for the first time, along with many of the Beetle's dark azure parts. Meaning this car couldn't have been built at all a couple years ago.- Fastest LEGO Technic Car!
drdesignz replied to mwnilsson's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI have a Bushnell Velocity Speed Gun. You could use one of those to measure speed. It's simple, accurate, and there's nothing to add to the vehicle.- Monochroming
I like it. Where did the gray spaceman come from? I take it the helmet is from classic castle, so it's old gray?- Lego Classic Space Monorail

This is part number 24246 (Tile 1 x 1 Half Circle Extended), currently only in white found in five of the series 7 and 8 Mixels sets. I noticed another in light bluish gray on the front of the Beetle, the signal lights on the fenders.- Lego Model of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Thanks much. I built the garden. I normally build vehicles with Lego and real buildings at work, so it was quite different from what I'm used to. The other Conservatory was built by HARDLUG and was great. Incorporated into their layout:- Lego Model of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Our LUG created a model of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden located in Richmond, Virginia, USA. It is currently on display in their library. It is 96 studs wide (two large baseplates) by 144 studs long (three large baseplates). The estimated number of pieces is 15,000. Here are some pictures. If you're interested in the process of its creation, we have more information here. Hope you enjoy!- [MOC] ICARUS Supercar
