Castle sets 2008/2009
Well, I actually don't mind it. I actually WANT the Orcs so I can have an army of them. I could see the possibility of trading Dwarfs for orcs. Who knows, there might even be a Dwarf impulse set soon enough, we have one for all the other factions, except maybe skeletons (I can't remember).

Castle sets 2008/2009
OK! For the U.S. people, I saw the Dwarves' Mine and got one at the TRU in Downers Grove Illinois. Also saw the Troll Warship, the Dwarf's Mine Defender, the Siege Tower, and the Troll Cart. So.....things are starting to show up! WOOT! But still no new impulse sets as of yet.

New Batman spotted in Illinois
Apparently, I can't post in the "Buy/Sales/Trade Forum", so I need to post this here so everyone knows... Batman sets are available as of last night. A good friend of mine saw 3 of them at the WalMart in St. Charles, IL on Rt. 64. Thanks!

Custom Pirate Ship Project
LOOKS GREAT!!!! I got a question though. I'm working on a large pirate ship myself; larger than the BSB, but not big enough to defeat your gargantuan! The problem I am facing is how did you do the masts? I've seen the round 4x4s stacked on another ship, and it looks like you used brick built columns? I've got plenty of LEGO mast pieces, but I fear they are gonna look way too thin in relation to the ship. Just lookin for some input, thanks.

Dung Mall
Hilarious. Nicely done. It looks like the "Brown Monster" is going after the roll of toilet paper? Really creative, I had a good laugh!

Speed Racer license = the next Galidor?
At the LEGO Woodfield store, we were out of the Speed Racer sets weeks before the movie opened, and believe it or not, they are actually very popular sets (even that truck set, I still don't know why). Just thought I would chime in and add that!

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Erdbeereis1, In the LEGO stores in the states, here is how it works. example 1: Build-A-Minifigure, 5 pieces for $2.99 example 2: Castle 5 pack for $12.99 ($2.60 for each minifig). example 3: 4 rebel troopers and their Scout Speeder, $9.99 ($2.50 a minifig, if we consider the speeder for free). example 4: 30 community workers and a ton of accessories for $43.00 ($1.44 for each minifig, not counting accessories). YOU: 13 pirate figures from the 1990s for only $18 ($1.39 for each minifig) So yeah, I think you got a good deal!! (sorry, I'm goin to school to be a math teacher) Other than that, garage sales are a great way to get older LEGO for super cheap, but very difficult to find. EBAY and Bricklink are probably your best places.

The best ship hull colour
I voted all brown also. I have them all, so it was easier to compare....but all brown gives a lot of flexibility. Of course, if you craft your own hull, which I have started..........

Flight of the Forestmen
Forestmen has always been my favorite of the Castle line. Very creative MOC. The old castle really looked like rubble. Funny how skeletons also make great corpses!!!! Not just armies of the undead. Well done!

Castle - forge
That roof is amazing; great idea!!!! I'm into the little details also, so when I saw the smoke and "hot iron rod", i was very impressed. Fantastic job!

Good Wizard Set
The only newer castle sets that are in the Chicagoland area are the 7041 Troll Battle Wheel and set 5615 The Knight. I work at the Woodfield store so you are getting location specific information. As for everything else, I am also eagerly awaiting the new Castle sets.

Castle sets 2008/2009
The NEW Castle chess set was at $300 us a few weeks ago, because I also saw it at that price and thought it may be a bit high. It has since dropped to $200 US. As for the new dwarf and troll sets, and the wizard, we in the states have still not seen them, but as soon as I know anything, I will chime in and let everyone know.

Hello everyone!
My name is Adam, I go to school (college) in the Chicagoland area (suburbs) and work retail. I have a girlfriend who constantly has something to say about my hobby......... Other than that, I build a little bit of Town (I'm old-school, so I do not call it City), Castle, and Pirates when I can. Glad to be here!! Thanks!

The Lego Shop Database
Hi All. Wanted to chime in a little bit for the Chicagoland area in the US. KB TOYS have always been good to me. You have to be patient, but when their stuff drops in price, it is usually pretty good. TRU and TARGET are ok; nothing exciting to say about those two. WALMART has never been really good to me, at least not in this area. LEGO stores are good though, since there are 3 in the area, that makes it kinda nice! Also, I know for a fact that some of the PAB walls are getting restocked with newer stuff. Transperent 1x1 cones, staircases, spruce trees, and all sorts of new stuff, so check them out. Most employees are pretty friendly and accommodating to customers' needs. Plus they have the Loyalty cards which are useful if you are buying a lot of merchandise!
