Picked this up from Toys R Us Vancouver today. They were still in the shipping box and not shelved yet so quickly grabbed one! Came with a $10 off gift card on next $50+ purchase as well! (I'm planning on using this on the new police headquarters ) Name: Police Minifigure Collection Set Number: 7279 Pieces: 57 Price: US $9.99/$12.99CAD Ages: 5-12 Minifigs: 4 Theme: City 2011 Year of Release: 2011 The Review Box Front Box Back The Pieces New Parts/Interesting Pieces I was debating on this vs the Police Dog Assignment set but the crowbar and the bag swayed me away. Plus, you get the new dog anyways! Instruction Manual Pretty standard. However, the manual came with a short comic with the police dog at work. Great addition to the playability. *Note: The comic builder website didn't work for me sadly. It directed me to the standard Lego broken link page. The instructions also shows some of the new 2011 space sets! The Minifigs Pretty standard police figures. The second thief seems to be a new torso print. Dog Comparison This has already been done but I can't help take a picture of the new dog anyways. It definitely made this set worth it. The police dog meets the fire dog from Fire Brigade. The ATV and ATM The ATV is a nice design. Simple yet effective. The ATM could use an improvement in my opinion. Its too simple and doesn't really pass off as an ATM; maybe a new ATM screen would help. The Complete Set Extra Parts Robbery in Progress Its the holiday season! These thieves are definitely taking advantage of the holiday spirit and picked their target accordingly. However, the police dog is tight on their tail! Ratings Minifigures: 9/10 - Even though most of the figures are from the 2008 series, its still a great collection. The dog definitely boost up the points here. Pieces: 8/10 - Comes with tons of new police parts. However, the rest of the pieces were pretty standard. Design: 8/10 - The ATV design is great! The ATM could use some work though. Playability: 10/10 - Very playable! The extra comic is a great imagination booster! 2 police officers, 2 thieves, a police dog, and an ATM. What more do you need? Price: 8/10 - Very good price for 4 minifigs and the new police dog. Overall: 8.5/10 This is my first review so I hope you all enjoyed it. Definitely a worthwhile set for all the new police parts! (dog, backpack, crowbar.) Must get for those hoping to boost their minifig collection!

reviving an old thread here but I just got this today from Toys R Us Canada. Its currently on sale right now and a good $10 cheaper then the yellow version!

Hi everyone, I'm in the planning stages of building a new ship and I was wondering what do you guys prefer for deck colour? From what I've seen, reddish brown and tan seems to be the standard, but there's an abundance of dark tan plates on bricklink these days at low prices and I'm leaning towards getting the dark tan cause of the cost. Anyone have any experience with this colour or pictures of ships with this deck colour? I personally don't have any bricks in dark tan so I'm just going off pictures I see online

I've had very good experiences with expert's choice decal paper. I'm using an epson inkjet printer. Here are my steps: 1. print decal (use best photo quality setting and select glossy photo paper in the options menu) 2. Allow ink to dry and coat the decal paper with krylon clear coat. Wait for dry and re-coat again 3. When applying the decal, use cold water. Hot water ruins the decals and rubs the ink off 4. once decal is applied, gently press it with a soft tissue to get the excess water/air bubbles out 5. once the decal is dried, use a decal solution with a brush and brush over the edges to prevent curling 5. spray figure with krylon clear coat again. When I saw the contest theme, I couldn't resist doing this mod not a contest entry picture but a request I did for a user from an anime forum @sok117: It is a weird series but it allows for some interesting lego modifications

She follows new anime series religiously and can be found at every Anime Evolution convention. Every year, Jessica cosplays as her favorite character and spends hours in front of her computer researching and putting together the "perfect" costume. This year, Jessica is attending as her favourite character from the new Japanese anime series "Strike Witches." Strike Witches is an award winning military anime series set in an alternate timeline where witches fly in striker units (aircraft propulsion systems modified to attach to the user's legs) to defend the earth from an alien invasion. All the characters are based on famous world war 2 flying aces (more on the series HERE.) Being blond and sixteen, Jessica was naturally drawn to Lieutenant Erica Hartmann, a blond and 16 year old fighter ace from Karlsland. Jessica knows that if she can pull this costume off, she will definitely be the star of Anime Evolution 2010! After weeks of tedious ebay searching, she manages to acquire and modify an old German luftwaffe uniform to the right design. With her years of cosplay experiences, she skillfully modifies a pair of stilts into mock striker units. The one thing Jessica couldn't acquire due to her age was a replica mp40 machine gun. ahh yep its not really a custom meant of purists i guess. i personally don't prefer decals but theres no other way to do it. the only generic lego torso i can think of that COULD work is that bellville horse rider torso (Red with black collar or something), but I only have 1. also, i don't have any flesh colour pieces unfortunately. Thanks for all the replies!
