  1. Good suggestions, thanks. I'd love to see a Battlebots style, although brick destruction is probably not good for repeat playability... ;) I'm also thinking things like: collect X objects fastest; stacking objects; line follower; obstacle course; stuff like that. Anything else spring to mind? Generic competition types of things... Thanks, Kelly
  2. Hi all, What type of LEGO Mindstorms competitions (not official challenges, but one-on-one types of things) do you like? What would you challenge a friend with? For example, everyone knows sumo types, but how else would you compete with a Mindstorms robot? Strength challenge? Speed? Obstacle course? Looking for any and all ideas. Thanks, Kelly Disclaimer: I'm the LEGO Mindstorms webmaster, and I'm doing a spot of research; suggestions here might or might not make it into anything official sometime in the future, yadda yadda, you know the disclaimer drill.
  3. Hmm... I tested before posting, and tested again in FF5 and IE8 on PC, both seemed to work from the US. It could possibly be a server cache issue, in which case it would fix itself by tomorrow; otherwise something more complex may be happening. If you have a problem uploading on Tuesday, please drop me a PM with where the process broke for you, and what the error was, if any. I'll get it fixed. - Kelly
  4. The problem with uploading contest entries has been resolved, so you can now upload your competition MOCs. Sorry for the inconvenience on this! Kelly, LEGO Technic Webmaster
  5. Technic Competition April Winner (Sorry for posting the link in two topics, initially posted in the wrong thread.)
  6. Thanks to the very helpful links in these threads, I've determined that there were three plagiarized MOCs in this month's finalist list. They have been removed. They are: Bugatti Veyron submitted by Luc98lt Chevy submitted by havenlawrence Bugatti submitted by joaodavid96 I've compiled a blacklist of those found to be cheating, and will work with the TECHNIC judging team to help weed out problem submissions before finalists are selected. - Kelly
  7. Update: Thanks to the very helpful links in these threads, I've determined that there were three plagiarized MOCs in this month's finalist list. They have been removed. 8. The Veyron has already been proven a cheat and has been removed. I will review the other claims and take appropriate action (removing entries from competition) if they are valid. Thanks for pointing this out. Please note that next month we'll be implementing a new requirement to add a "Technic Challenge" printed sheet with competition submissions, which should help weed out this type of plagiarism. - Kelly TECHNIC.com Webmaster
  9. Those unfortunately would go against our privacy policies. That's been suggested to the Technic brand manager, it's up to him to decide if something like this is feasible. We're starting something like this for next month's competition. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep an eye on this thread. I'll also look into the other thread documenting cheats. - Kelly
  10. Due to ongoing issues with the entries, we will be instituting a new policy starting with next month's competition. The TECHNIC Challenge logo must be printed and placed near the MOC in order to be entered, which should eliminate the most egregious plagiarism issues. The high-res PDF is located in the Downloads section, and will be linked from the contest entry page. I've already removed one proven plagiarism entry, and will investigate others in this thread. If you think a MOC has been improperly copied, please (politely) contact LEGO Consumer Services and it'll be investigated, and action taken if needed. - Kelly TECHNIC Webmaster
  11. Noted. I tend to agree, and I'll try to have them slowed down a bit for future product animations. - Binkmeister, LEGO TECHNIC webmaster
  12. The Recon Team-specific chestplate will be the only exclusive element available.
  13. The HeroPad was supposed to launch today, but we are having technical issues getting it live; hopefully it'll be live Wednesday. I had to pull down the teaser movie temporarily, hope to get it back online by late this week or early next week. Anybody who bought a canister should have kept their lids and the unique code inside, you'll need it.
