  1. This is amazing. From the glow in the power unit for the camp to the targeting computer and lights in the x-wing, you didn't miss a beat. About the only think you didn't do was dip your R2 in a mud bath. There is so much going on here and yet it doesn't feel 'busy'. I keep going back to see what other little nuggets are there that I missed the 1st 10 times I looked at it. Well done
  2. Jester College can be a rough place when you can't juggle properly. Rough Day by TheDeanoRama on Flickr
  3. I tried the server you used for the hosted picture and resized one of my own to see what would happen and to check your path ect, and encountered this message: Note: Pictures will only remain on our server for 10 minutes, so linking to this image will not work for very long. I'm thinking this is your problem.
  4. I have to say, I wasn't all that excited to hear about the LR sets. I thought it was going to be a standard fare licensing project, of which I tend to ignore. After receiving a promo email today from lego I took my 1st peek at the LR sets. After the initial set the email linked to (silver mine) I was pulled in, and reviewed the other sets on the site and almost all of them had me going "I need that!". This is not just from a "Lone Ranger" point of view but there are a lot of elements there that would go well with a plethora of mocs. They also put some thought into a nice broad price range, and didn't go overboard with a number of huge sets for big bucks. Well done TLG, you have my attention with this series.
  5. Nice shots/compositions. This makes me want to hook up my marco lens, I've done all my lego photos with my 'walking' around lens, mainly because I'm too lazy to set up the tripod and my macro isn't imaged stabilized.
  6. I like what you've done here. The solution for a boat motor is unique. It's hard to tell from this angle, what are you using for the leg of the motor? I think you can get that window in blue as well if its the same as the one that comes from 60007
  7. Oh, don't get me wrong (or maybe I should have clarified better). I don't think its a terrible kit, I just wish they did the clock face with a little more thought. The tower roof is what it is, hard to do more and have it look right in such a small scale overall.
  8. This is a great review, thanks I have to agree that the clock faces could have been a lot nicer, especially considering how nice the original looks and also happens to be in exactly the right dimension ratio to fit a 2x2 tile which could replace the 2x2 round tile married to a 2x2 plate combination presented. A dedicated printed piece for this particular set would have been nice and may have made the difference in purchasing or not (would have for me). The only other thing I would criticize about this set (I'm nit picking now, I know) is the 1st tier of the roof just above the clock face is too small in the model, it could probably have stood to be one more tile higher I think to keep it in scale with the proportions compared to the top. My guess is due to the 3x3 they were working within that they painted themselves into a corner, not really able to go higher and still have it look like a roofing element vs a different coloured wall.
  9. I like the upgrades, its interesting how the placement of the minifig statue at this angle actually makes it feel larger than it is. Nice to see Stark hasn't lost his head over the changes so-to-speak.
  10. Your floor techniques are fantastic <insert drooling here>. I also really like the depiction of the armoury in "The wall is complete"

Nice layout, and I really like what you've done with the beachfront and the lighthouse. Gives me a few ideas as I'm working on a beachfront with the same lighthouse as well.

I like what you did with the larger room, the different modules work a lot better in a larger environment. This would really lend itself well to a base or ship's interior diorama. He's using his creepy eyes
  13. I was playing with LDD to POV-Ray today trying to eke out a bit more of a dramatic lighting for minifigs. In playing with the lighting settings from within the conversion front end I found myself more than once wanting a rim light option from within the lighting tab. Despite the lack of the rim light, I'm rather happy with my results being that this is the 1st time I've played with the light settings. The final 800x600 output took roughly 30 mins to render on my meagre i5 x64 lappy.
  14. Looks great and I really like the wall detail above the exterior face of the doors. This was a headscratcher for me though: What does the technic handle/shaft trigger or operate? In the other picture where you have the wall off exposing it, it looks as though all it does is rotate in place.
  15. Great review and shots (as usual) you really nailed the DoF in the tauntaun shot. What are you using for the snow, flower?
  16. Well deserved placement in the museum. You have nicely captured the real thing here, are there any future plans towards building out the interior at all?
  17. the creativity here (from both of you) has me in awe. Well, that and your shear count of the secret ingredient. You both have amazing skills, props to the both of you.

Love the colour choices and you've done a great job detailing out the interior and exterior for that matter. What is in the cellar, is that a little wine making going on? Moc's like these make me want to try my hand at a modular (though I think mine would be a bit simplistic, at least to start).
  19. You've manage to pack a lot of detail into this, well done. I love a lot of the (appropriate) expressions you've placed on a lot of the minifigs. Your axe man and noose man seem to be enjoying their jobs a little too much. What does the big storage tank contain?
  20. Top Row, Colour Block #3 Series 3? Bottom Row Colour Block #5 Series 2?
  21. Potentially Canadian: http://www.photoscan..._museum_calgary This actually made me laugh out loud I was about to say I that I was sticking to my guns with Netherlands until I actually decided to look up Myra and St Nick ect to find out we are talking one and the same. My wife's family being Dutch celebrates Sinterklaas. So I guess Saint Nicholas could be considered European since the same Saint is Celebrated in multiple ways. ref for Sinterklaas: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Sinterklaas This now brings an understanding as to why the Melon is Blind .....
  22. The 1 stud would probably lend itself well to the micro modular scale, where as the 2 stud would probably fit right in with the mini modulars. Both of which are very creative
