  1. Just got this in the mail... Man, these wheels are so freakin AWESOME !!! The rims and tires are printed, no joking. Kudos to the CaDA R&D team who shook this glorious formula out of the sleeve ! Unfortunately not yet, other than the yearly participation at the Nürnberg Toy Fair. There will be a kinda grand opening at the Freakware warehouse in Kerpen later this year, no date announced yet. They have the general importer license in EU/Germany for Doubleeagle/CaDA.
  2. Spoiler alert: we are having AWD or RWD optional. I recommend to build the RWD option for better performance both in steering and driving. CV-joints popping out while driven and steered at the front axle are a problem, as some of you Technic guys will know by experience . The suspension is indeed different in the real car, very complex and sophisticated. I found it´s not possible to recreate properly with bricks within the limited space. The diagonal shock has a compressing section and a second section which is being pulled instead of being compressed. It basically acts as an anti-rollbar. Cudos to the engineers ! Our fellow comrade @Zerobricks had done some research on it as well:
  3. And the winner of this race is ....
  4. @amorti: Thanks mate, I´m very curious already ! The set is labeled as 14+, the level of difficulty is similar to the Italian supercar, far beyond any of the Lego UCS supercars lineup. When I think back when I was that age, owning and building such a thing would mean just everything to me. My 14y old son is a good in playing xbox, piano, soccer, cup stacking, solving Rubik´s cubes etc. But he has simply no interest in building anything from Lego Technic or any set from CaDA of similar degree. He will give up at any point where he would have to find the error, go back and disassemble a section. There is nothing I can do, certainly you can´t force anybody to have fun with plastic bricks, develop endurance, build the set properly, focus on the details, experience the huge reward of accomplishment. I like the 13L arches, let them be flexible, it doesn´t hurt. They´ve been remolded too recently, among many others, just in order to achieve a more consistent matte surface. Obviously any variation looks better than the original counterpart, without the useless indents. Also I love the distinctive rounded edges on the newer triangular panels of all sizes and they got rid of some useless indents as well.
  5. This store is a FAKE and the owners will face legal consequenses soon! EXACTLY! Thank you buddy .
  6. The Project One is probably a losing trade for the company in short term. The car costs "only" 2.700.000 EUR + taxes. AMG most likely has invested more money into homologation, compliance with emission standards etc. than they got in return. I doubt they get any profit e.g. in the F1 business at all. It´s more about prestige, marketing and image building, so the "Otto normals" buy more of the Black Series and such.
  7. If you fly by my home, you can pick up the aero fins or even a complete CaDA set (in a month or two), so there would be one reason more or less not to do it ...
  8. I understand how confusing this is, but please wait for the official press release from CaDA and AMG! It will come very soon and you won´t miss it. It´s not expensive, but I´m not sure about 240 bucks without discountings at the launch. Considering that Mercedes-AMG has some saying in the pricing policy, the licensing costs for the AMG and Michelin branding, countless changes in the moulds for EU/US compliance, specific parts which come only with this set such as wheels / aero fins / printed parts and the electronics, it´s still not expensive! It will NOT cost 450 bucks, but way less than that. It also depends on the country and the actual currency. I´ve heard in Germany it will cost 279,00 EUR because 279 real cars have been produced, but I could be wrong here too. I would not recommend to try, because you cannot replicate the aero fins. The mudguard pieces have been designed from scratch (my initial design), they are different too. There is nothing wrong with changing some attitudes and try another recommended brand which is perfectly compatible to your Lego stock / collection, in my humble but certain opinion. You could buy a second ONE for the parts, mix it into your library and build something wonderfull of your own dreams . Also I´d be very happy to see any B-model one day, especially from You !
  9. I am excited too, but I have doubts about the use of the light blue piece. It´s not versatile at all, it fits only into this particular motorbike application. They will rather make something else, respectively change the sequence and/ or combine the sequence with the orange rotary catch to achieve an 8+N or such. And I have big doubts about the usability in heavy duty appications, but that´s another story, let them leave the crumbs for the poor dogs . It´s not possible to do with this boring sequence. I have a dream which I´ll rather tell you in secret. Cheers buddy !
  10. It will be released this month in China and a little bit later in EU. Don´t nail me down on a certain date. It should have been released 2 years ago, if you ask me.
  11. The real AMG Project ONE had a long phase of development as well, until they could remove "project" from the name. Years went by until the first cars finally could be delivered to the customers in 2023. The German authorities gave no permission to the original street legal specs. They literally told the AMG company: "You are not Ferrari or Lamborghini. You have to follow the same emissions regulations valid for the C-class". It´s true, all thanks to the green party ruling in Baden-Württemberg. Greta, please stay away from my country! Same thing for the CaDA set #C61503W Mercedes-AMG ONE which will be released years later than planned to the EU market, after fitting a certain compliance elaborated by lawyers. Nothing to add from my side here, I´m done with the design a long time ago. You will hear more by end of this month. Stay tuned and don´t be disappointed! It will still stand out among others "homologated" cars in your garage !
  12. The orange rotary catch works perfectly fine with both driving rings. The length is not so important, it´s just advantageous to work with odd numbers in Technic field. The lenghts of the catches are the same. One major difference is in the ridges design which exclude compatibility of one or another gear or extension. Not clever by the way. I have studied the new gearbox parts visually and mathematically, but will not reveal my conclusions this time.
  13. The 4L perpendicular was actually a CaDA part first, next to other lenghts. Never mind. In the near future I will have the complete array from 2/3/4/5/6/7/9/11/13/15L, how lucky I am. I can´t see any elongated ball pin on the blurry image. If it was a new part, you probably would have seen it on the first pages of this thread.
  14. The Lego company should be legally sued by the creative Eurobricks community for blatantly stealing and patenting their brilliant gearbox idea. Not giving credit to the designers of the round wheel. Especially I now deserve MILLIONS on my bank account! I hope everybody can feel my bitter irony about the rainbow factory. We and CaDA will counter that move, promised!
  15. That´s true. Just keep in mind there are several generations of the CaDA servo. The one shown in the video is the second official version, as far as I can tell, same as the old regarding technical characteristics, with newer casing and the regular PF plugs. It was introduced with the Italian Supercar, together with the Pro L motors. The currently running sets feature new exclusive plugs, due to copyright aspects, which are compatible only with the CaDA inventory. Caution: the servos don`t respond gradually on SBrick / BuWizz, unlike the Lego servos. Good news, which are not new to almost anybody: an upgraded RC system is in the making which will definitely have proportional control for any motor. At least! 24 will be great, God willing!
  16. OK, I didn´t know, the wheels just appear too small to me, respectively I feel there is something wrong with proportions. Enjoy it! I just tell you about my experience. I´ve been working for years in the German automotive business. It´s being run by 99% by men. And I personally prefer to work with men when it comes to business. Not to be disprespectful to the women, they never care about me, my technical interests, neither about my love for cars or my RC "hobbies" whatever . YOU should be doing this RASTAR job ! Good luck with them!
  17. Do you mean this one? Which says 1/8, but has 1/10 wheels on it ? Rastar has a license and we almost had set up a contract back then. I definitely have had better ideas for this project than the result presented, but I had to realize this company has no idea what they are doing in the bricked field. I was dealing with women all the time, just on a side note, not to be disprespectful to the beautiful crown of creation . Same thing for the Maserati MC20. Nobody even cares what´s inside because the inside and the outside offers too little beyond a pile of bricks with a brand sticker on it.
  18. Paul, I´m still trying to recover from my shock, can´t believe this is not a car ... Tremendous job anyway, have fun !
  19. This looks fantastic, thanks for sharing ! I always loved this livery from the 90´s Tamyia catalogue, just couldn´t afford the set back in the days. You have replicated the stripes in a beatiful way ! Overall approach "from the other side" is kinda interesting to see as well. I have nothing against a shelf king made mostly of Technic parts if done this way. Please next time make sure to have a balanced working chassis. Nevertheless, since we are in the Technic forum, it´s mandatory to ask about more details what´s underneath. How is it playable? No ultimate need for C+ btw., did you consider CaDA components as well such as micro motors?
  20. This summer, but no date available yet. You will know about it soon here. Thank you for pointing that out.
  21. Don´t forget the fool proof 4-channel RC system which Lego wasn´t eager enough to develop. The L-motors, buggy motors, micro motors are stronger and better and most important still being produced to have it available for your needs. It will get even better, promised.
  22. @Flobadobbob Hi, there are several ways to customize this. A pair LED in the front is easy. The rear lights can´t be illuminated by regular LED kits, obviously. If you search this thread, you can learn a lot of stuff and get some DIY ideas from others. I can´t recommend any online stores because I haven´t seen a proper lighting kit made especially for this car which I´d like to buy.
  23. @nicoga3000 You´re welcome! The quality is good, no problems with compatibility in general (don´t count in newer electronics e.g.). But please differ between older and newer sets. We are talking about improvements within a few years for which others would need decades. Then there are differences between quality in sets made for distribution in China mainland (AliExpress and such) and international customers (official dealers and importers). Simply buy a fresh one directly from the CaDA store and TRY !
  24. These? A loop with 1 stick glued to it is legit, OK. A loop with 2 sticks on either side is OK. A loop with 2 sticks perpendicular is NOT!! Really?? Btw. the required design change they did, results in a wobbling panel in my AMG now. Embarassing I want to claim the patent for a round wheel with 13 spokes, guess nobody did yet (brings luck only to me).
  25. Nice job again! One can clearly recognize what it is. Otherwise I´m sorry to say the pictures are missing some contrast. I would like to see the car from more different perspectives and the bellyshot. Did you use blueprints for this? The scaling is nowhere 1/8. If I calculate right, the width of the car is 27 studs which approximates to the 1:10 scale (29 studs in 1/8). Considering your wheel track is narrowed by additional 2 studs. Though I like the look when cars have enlarged wheels and rims with the exaggerated wheel/body ratio. Building bigger brings new challenges and advantages regarding functionality and detailing. Please try.
