  1. Anyone know if the 75186 Arrowhead is going to retire soon? I'd like to pick it up at a nice discounted price, but wonder if Amazon.de is going to discount it before it's retired.
  2. Yeah, It's quite rear heavy, but only has three landing gear in the show - two in the middle and one in the front. The art department of Lucasfilm made it delibirately unbalanced so It wouldn't be possible to reproduce it in the flesh.
  3. episode II The new design is much better, it justifies buying the new one for sure. Sell the new minifigs and you might even make a lot of the buck back And for the X-wing the same counts, new one is a lot better.
  4. The 4x4 top hatch reprint was needed in favor of the 6x6 dish with bar, this hatch enables a more clean and round TIE fighter look, whereas the old TIEs using the big hatch gave it a blocky overall finish.
  5. may need to search in another sub on the same platform. leave out the "leaks" part in your original que and you may find them
  6. Haha, okay, it's okay. A minor issue and common mistake. Had me a grin for the rest of the video. I always remember that image when seeing Rouge xD Luckily the rest of the video was very well and professionally done visually as usual :)
  7. Both where also in the first battle in the Petraki Arena
  8. Yes, I posted an image on reddit, it has the minifigs included showing, there are 2x AotC styled clone troopers. (next to ki-adi mundi and barris offee) Too bad they've used the same headpiece for Ki-Adi, it doesn't fit with his movie appearance. But I can understand they couldn't justify designing a whole new one for just a small set as a battle pack is. It's great to me already he has an updated minifig head and torso/leg pieces. I'm interested in Barris' new skirt piece. Wonder if it's the same size as standard minifig legs, and wonder if it can bent for seating poses, but probalbly not.
  9. Looks great, fantastic MOC! That's quite a lot of hours spend into making it. It's nice to see you took enough time to develop an accurate build using images of both the show and those officially released by Lucasfilm. Nice catch in seeing the Ghost design has changed, I didn't know that! Though... in the video, I couldn't help noticing... ROUGE One... I sincerely hope this was intentional
  10. Oh, that scaling tool may prove useful, thanks! Where do you get your official images? And do you consider images from official Star Wars games and books as official enough? (cross section books, old canon blueprints/techinical guides, Dice's Star Wars Battlefront I and II)
  11. Ah, I see, thanks! I spotted 3. Still hope they have a (new) rank plaque though, haha. But rather no rank plaque then one with a rank plaque we already got
  12. Where in episode IV can those officer's be seen? I watched it recently, but it can't recall seeing some without a badge. I always welcome new imperial officers, but I think I prefer them with a new, lower rank. Hope the one in the TIE fighter then has the admiral rank, none has been released yet with that rank and the new torso And is that new millenium falcon WHITE? If so, I might buy it, that's something different for a change. Because parting out both the TFA and OT millennium gave me way enough of those lbg wedges and other parts.
  13. Hey Jerac, I think you have done an amazing job with your TIE fighter and TIE interceptor, they both look absolutely great, they use very nice techniques, and it's good to hear it is very stable as well. At first I thought the price for the instructions ($16) is quite steep, but now that I'm reading more into it I think you did indeed put a lot of work into it to make it for the people, and you do deserve it. Especially reading your Star Destroyer debacle on reddit made me quite sympathetic. However, one thing I really don't like is how the people at Brickvault handle your MOC. For example, on Rebrickable they've listed this text: Also watching their youtube video on it is total sales crap. They want to sell the model too badly and try to trick people in buying the instructions by posting false information. They try to make all other TIE fighter MOCs look bad and say this is better than anything. They praise your model so much and try to force the viewers of their video to believe other MOCs are crap, why this one is perfect and objectively better, and such. It looks like they don't even really care for the MOC itself, they just care to sell as much as instructions as possible to naive people and those who are new to the hobby. There is a lot of other TIE MOCs, and any of them could be better in someone else's opinion, and some may even be more accurate in some parts than your model. To me, it's a matter of personal preference which MOC is the best. And I think you share this opinion. You state you like the incarnations of other builders and that there is no perfect design. While I think your model is IMHO very good indeed, I don't think it's the best out there, mainly because of the scale. But I can understand some people prefer this, as this is better in other areas in what that one lacks. I think people should decide for themselves which model they like best, and Brickvault should at least start with "I think that..../ in my opinion". It would be nice if you maybe could address this to Brickvault. I do hope the people at Brickvault give you a fair cut though for their sales. Note: I did first send this message to Jerac in private, and he was okay with me posting this here in the topic too. He replied positive to my request, agreed on points made, and will adress this with Brickvault. Thanks again Jerac!
  14. TWP replied to r4canine's post in a topic in LEGO Star Wars
This looks great, thanks for sharing! The book Tarkin was the very first Star Wars book I had read from the new canon, so the Carrion Spike has always been on my wish list. Nice seeing one in Lego form, it's very well executed IMO!
  15. Thanks! Yeah I was worried for the underside at first, it was a real mess... but luckily I had a few parts to spare from the set, and I replaced some other parts that wouldn't be visible with different colors. There's just a patch of brown now that's a bit out of place but I pretend that that's the result of the "ion cannon" right behind it Thanks :) That's actually a pretty good idea. Had not thought about it really, just did this because the original set wasn't really my cup of tea and thought it were still some parts with high potential. I did make an alternate build of the speeder from 75133 Rebel Alliance Battle pack, because the speeder included looked a bit weird to me. Alternate Build: Speeder Bike by Lego TWP, on Flickr I was aiming for the normal 74-Z Speeder Bike and I think I succeeded nicely enough, other then that it is still way to big to be in scale with a minifig.
  16. It's been quite a while since I last created a topic here on EB, but recently started a lot of building again, and want to share some of those here :) A while ago I bought 75084 Wookiee Gunship, but I didn't really like the set itself, so I decided to built a MOC using just the parts in the set. Here is the original btw: And here is my alternate build: 75084 Wookiee Gunship Alternate Build by Lego TWP, on Flickr 75084 Wookiee Gunship Alternate Build by Lego TWP, on Flickr As far as alternate builds go, I think I've done a pretty good job. It even won't fall apart when I hold it xD 75084 Wookiee Gunship Alternate Build by Lego TWP, on Flickr Usually alternate builds feature very messy underside's, but IMO this one looks kind of okay 75084 Wookiee Gunship Alternate Build by Lego TWP, on Flickr It features opening cockpit, rotating cannons and space to place a storage crate. As you can see, I didn't apply the stickers originally supplied with the set. Wonder what it will look like with them applied, but I'd like to use the parts for future builds ;)
  17. Okay, just shoot me a PM with the file when you're done, the smaller wings contribute to the weight too On the plus side, I can then also test the mechanism!
  18. Yeah, that sounds nice, I could figure out most from the pictures, but LDD/lfx is indeed easier It would be great if you have the most final version of the wings completed first, and I will then try to make them work and see how they hold up (saves me doing the build in vain when you'll redesign them anyway ;) ) Ah, that's smart, I try to build physical first, then digital, order parts, then build physical with right colors. Works better for me I think :)
  19. Ah, okay, hope it will do then. I might be able to build the wings for you (in different colors) to see how stable they are. Also, I see you using a lot of plates in the wings that can easily be replaced with bricks. Is there any reason for this? I know the plate connection is stronger, but that does not differ that much, and the bricks are lighter and cheaper.
  20. There is not. The builder says this in the comments on rebrickable. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-8373/Jorstad Designs/ucs-immobilizer-418-class-imperial-cruiser/#comments Jorstad Designs (911) MOC Designer No, between having a sturdy frame and incorporating the opening hangar bay doors, there wasn't really space for an adequate interior.
  21. Looks great, tops your fleet of nicely! I've been following your fleet building for a while now, they're all great. This may not be my favorite, as because of the size it will need a lot of boring plate work, but they are all fantastic!
  22. You should wait before B&P is open again. They have all the rounded tiles for way cheaper than they sell on Bricklink (50% etc)
  23. Hmmm, seems cheaper just to sell your old Falcon and buy the new one
  24. Could you post a picture/screenshot of the error message? Do you have Lego Digital Designer? You have to install that first. Then open the .lfx file using that program. LDD is available for free from the lego website.
  25. Looks great, and you're a fast builder too! I wonder if the wings will be able to maintain themselves under gravity - I'm assuming you want to build this in real bricks? I see a lot of supports, but fear those will not be enough. Perhaps trying to build those in physical bricks can help you figure this out? Good luck with your progress!
