  1. My daughter and I just finished this diner, and I gotta say that I'm pretty impressed. I swore off modulars after the Parisian restaurant. I didn't care for the direction the modular line was heading, so this modular is a breath of fresh air. I love the overall design of each floor, and the building techniques used were really cool. This pink Caddy convertible is the icing on the cake. I can't wait to see the next modular, especially if Mike Psiaki is designing it. In Mike's Lego Designer video, he mentioned a Lego modular hotel, so I wonder if that's a clue about the next modular release.
  2. I'm rather intrigued by Tron being selected. Personally, I loves me some Tron, ever since I was a kid seeing the first flick on the big screen. I remember making a blue Recognizer and a mini-scale grid tank out of my Lego back then. Hopefully, with Disney and Lego working more closely lately on merchandise like the CMF line and the Disney Castle, Ideas does this set justice.
  3. Dammit, I don't want to be sucked back in to Lego Star Wars, but... I have to say that I'm tempted. While I am disappointed in the lack of interior space compared to MOC's, I can't imagine finding the time to Bricklink an MOC as an alternative to this. So, I'll probably end up purchasing this for Christmas, and then living out of the set's box when my wife kicks me out for buying an $800 Lego set.
  4. It's a cute set, but geez, $80 USD for this? PASS.
  5. Exactly. It's bad enough Fox has the rights to make those half-assed X-Men movies. Now the characters are being faded out of games, too? Thanks, Marvel.
  6. After the amazing detail put into the Lego Batman movie minifigs, I'm really disappointed with the half-@$$ed effort put into these 2018 minifigs. Considering the level of detail put into the custom and knock off minifigs over the past couple years, I hoped Lego would step up their game. I was really hoping we'd at least get minifigs faithful to the Lego DC Batman video game designs. What we get is so plain... and Killer Frost's hair? Really? I'm assuming that these character selections are sorta based on the Cartoon Network's Justice League Action line-up of heroes and villains. I really appreciate that Lego is offering such a diverse array of characters, and that it's not like the Batman and Friends ideation that we had previously. As always, I like the evolution of building techniques we're seeing with the vehicle builds. However, I think we have enough helicopters to last for awhile.
  7. I would really enjoy having a minifig of Dan Cassidy aka the honest-to-goodness Blue Devil. And I'm talking the blue n yellow costume with the collar and cuffed wristbands n boots, not the standard t-shirt n jeans outfit that DC tried passing off as hero uniforms in the 2000's. I mean, the guy had his own damn comic book, fer crying out loud. Throw in Zatanna and a brick-build Nebiros the demon, and there ya go. Kid Devil is basically the kid in the devil costume in that CMF wave a couple years ago.
  8. Dang... those are some of the coolest customs I've seen using regular parts. Nightwing's red shirt for MM, those red/yellow legs, and IM's chest piece as alternatives really spruce up those minifigs.
  9. I'm afraid to do the math, since I anticipate purchasing just about every set from this wave. Yikes.
  10. Spider - Gwen is included in the roster. She's seen in a game play demo presented by 2 developers from Tt Games.
  11. These larger sets are amazing. I anticipated avoiding the smaller sets since I didn't think they would have much more to offer than the larger sets, minifigure-wise. However, after seeing Nya and L-loyd in their civvies, I just may have to take out a home equity loan to purchase the entire line of sets. Well played, Lego, well played.
  12. Okeedoke. Thanks for the clarification.
  13. Whatever happened to the 2nd Disney CMF wave? I thought it was due sometime after the castle was released.
  14. More like, "Lego Marvel Cinematic Universe", since the only characters represented in the trailer are associated with these franchises. Not seeing any of the X-men and FF in here is pretty upsetting. I really wish Disney would get over this merchandising ban already.
