  1. This is looking great so far. That tubing looks like a nightmare to route
  2. It's amazing how dense it is. Fantastic work
  3. Although I don't agree with the cutting, this looks like a fantastic model. Very recognizable
  4. Fantastice WIP so far. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this project
  5. I really like the ship and the BMW bike. Looks like the ship has dark blue curved panels like on the 42039. Also seems like it has a lot of stickers. The bike seems to have black motorcycle rims for the first time and it looks nicely detailed
  6. I can only second what others have said, but wow that is fantastic. I couldn't tell when the pictures of the actual Lego model started
  7. For some reason the download link doesn't lead to a PDF and gives me an unidentified file type. Has anyone gotten this error?
  8. Great car. To restate what others have already said, your skills have really improved. I really love the front view of the car
  9. Wow this is awesome. I agree with the complaints about the roof but the rest is fantastic. Love the wheels too
  10. You may want to make a linkage system or give the actuator a better angle. It's something I always struggled to make when I made a dump truck. Check out zblj's dump Truck linkage here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79396 Also you may want to consider a brick built actuator due to the size
  11. Wow I'm disappointed IMO. Looks stubby and really doesn't stand up to the original creation
  12. Good start but very ambitious. I agree you need to add some diagonal bracing and more layers of beams. You could try and put some of the grey frames on the sides for further reinforcement as you're going to need it. Also IMO you're going to have to redo that suspension as it will sag under the weight of the truck. Best of luck with this
  13. Personally I love routing tubing. Not sure why, but I think its a good challenge
  14. Really nice WIP so far. Looking forward to seeing more. You've inspired me to try and build my own model for this contest so thanks
  15. I don't personally own 8043, but this is a fantastic project. Great work on making this
  16. I agree with only manual functions. Doesn't really make sense to have pf just for seats
  17. It's always great to see your builds. The 8880 is a set I've always wanted to buy, but has always eluded me as I feel the prices were a bit high
  18. Same here. Glancing at the pictures there's a lot to assume for reverse engineering. There's some chassis shots, but I'm not really sure how to start as they are not very high quality
  19. Nice review Sariel. I wonder if this could work with long blue pins and regular black pins, or long connectors vs short connectors. Could save some sorting time
  20. Did you reverse engineer based off the photos? Also does it use any rare parts?
  21. At this point not really interested in most of these IMO, but maybe pictures could change my mind. Might consider the BMW bike if it looks good
  22. I understand you're disappointed but just think about it. You say that your entry had more functions than most and that you would have liked the judges to focus more on functions, but after watching your video, you didn't even showcase the prime function of your MOC which is the 8 speed sequential gearbox. Simply pressing pedals and not showing anything will not wow the judges . Its the same thing as digital models, if you cannot show that your model works then it will be docked points. Yes you have 4 wheel steering in the model but again you didn't showcase that. I'm not doubting whether your model has these functions, but if you wanted the judges to see the functions you may have wanted to showcase them better. Considering the looks of the model I understand that you have a limited parts availability and I think it is admirable that you were able to produce a model despite that disadvantage. If I were in your position I would have given up. Finally you claim that the judges were biased against prototypes and there were none in the top 20; however glancing at the list I can see a couple of prototype MOCs there. This was a tough competition and there were a few MOCs I would have loved to see on that top 20 list and a few that I feel shouldn't be there, but I don't think there is any bias here. The list simply worked out this way Just my 2 cents I look forward to seeing the results of this competition
